There is a flight of stairs to climb to access the vacation cabin.

Captain John's Marina (1/2 mile from the cabin.) Escape in the beautiful Trees throughout the property with relaxing views. It's a true getaway! Close to Brewery, North Shore Cafe, Lake, Discovery Center & quaint town of Fawnskin. North side of the lake.

There is plenty of space throughout, with a spacious living area with high vaulted ceilings & an extra large family room on a separate floor loft that makes up the 3rd extra large bedroom. There is a flight of stairs to climb to access the vacation cabin.

Birthday getaway

We had a wonderful visit! We really enjoyed the hot tub. The house was lovely. It was wonderful how they provided toys for small children! We all really enjoyed watching the birds eat from the bird feeders that they provided along with the food. We definitely will consider visiting again.

TimeTraveler - Family Trip

Very nice property. I loved the homie cabin feel. Great for families. I love the quietness. The home was big, but still had a real cabin feel. I had read some bad reviews about lack of communication from the hosts so I was a bit worried, but I had a great experience and staff was responsive all weekend for my random questions. I was able to get a free snowboard rental at Getboards thanks to booking this property.

Christmas, New Years and 40th Anniversary!

A beautiful property and well appointed with anything that you could ever need. Great private space for everybody to have their own little place to go chill and a living room large enough to accommodate family game night! The only drawback is that steep hill up the driveway! It was brutal for us! So just be aware during the snow months. You are off the beaten path❤️ Everyone was so accommodating when we ended up staying an extra night because of the storm coming in!

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. As other users have mentioned, the pictures don’t do this place justice. The cabin is quite large but feels homey. I wouldn’t recommend it for a large group but perfect for a family getaway. The upkeep is pretty well and the location is amazing. Our only issue was the rental company. They weren’t of much help during our stay. Additionally, we were overcharged for our stay. After much back and forth, I was told that there was a hidden rental fee by the owner that isn’t listed in the booking. Does that sound legit? Overall we enjoyed our stay but would recommend you thoroughly check your charges.

Amazing the Right Weather!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we were very happy with the rental and management's response to issues. We rented the unit for three nights over the Christmas holiday, and as luck would have it, it snowed about four feet on us. If there is a downside to this rental, it's the steepness of the driveway. Even with 4-wheel drive, it was nearly impossible to get more than one car in the driveway with significant snow or ice in the driveway. It's just too steep (and awkwardly angled). However, absent that, the house was extremely comfortable, well provisioned, and we had a great time! I would certainly recommend a stay, so long as you know what you're signing up for with the weather!!

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location is great, the layout of the cabin is great. The reason for the 3 star review is because of the four dead mice we found behind the door in the laundry room, the mold build up in the master shower and general replacement of items that need to be extra clean or replaced (covers on chairs in dining room are just dirty looking). After reading the previous reviews, I realized the same issues that were there 5-6 years ago still exist. The place can use a handyman to come in and do some basic repairs. To add insult to injury, I forgot my phone charger in the cabin. They wanted $45.00 to ship it back to me.... Customer service can improve. Regardless, we had fun and enjoyed our weekend. But for the price, they can do a little better.

Thank you Ron for your feedback. We are sorry that you left your phone charger behind and we really do wish it was a quick an easy task to return lost items, but it does require several steps and costs for each of our homes. This well loved home by many, has been on our program for several years and has had many upgrades throughout this time, with homeowners that adore their mountain cabin and take great pride of ownership. Recent upgrades include - new flooring, paint interior and exterior, new decking, new furniture, renovated fireplace and more. Our mountain Cabins do have a pest control service and we will certainly advise them of the recent pest issue. Again, we are sorry about the phone charger, as this is a common left behind item and tracking these down in every home, packaging and shipping them does come at a cost.

Was the perfect place

This was our 3rd time in Big Bear and we finally found the spot to be. It was so quiet you could hear all the clocks tick. As peaceful as it gets. The property seems well maintained as if the owners often stay themselves. We left it as good if not better when we left. It was just my wife and I celebrating our anniversary in peace. We loved it.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The pictures on the listing definitely didn’t do the cabin justice. It was perfect for our trip. About 15mins away from the store and the kitchen was stocked with most cooking utensils. If it’s snowing during your trip, I highly recommend getting there right at check-in so you don’t have any issues contacting the mgmt office. The driveway is very steep and even with chains my Jeep Patriot struggled to get up the drive. When I got a rep on the phone, she said it was too late for them to send help (at 6PM) and incorrectly suggested I park on the street for the night, which I knew was a big no-no in Big Bear and is especially dangerous. We did have some difficulty in reaching the office on the day of our check out. We were snowed in and had gotten word that the street plow would not arrive until after our check out time. Thankfully we were able get a plow sooner, but mgmt didn’t email us back until 1:30pm. Overall a good stay!

Perfect Winter Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our place was clean, met all the requirements. We felt safe and it was very peaceful. Perfect way to celebrate my sons 14th birthday. The hot tube was definitely a plus. Our family really enjoyed it. We made beautiful memories. I'm very thankful.

It's away from the busier side of the lake, but getting to that area is a short drive, and it was worth it to have the peace and quiet.

Mountain getaway

We had a perfect time in the chalet. Fawnskin is such a quaint perfectly quiet town. Perfect place to unwind and recharge. Great kitchen appliances and great hot tub.
