This was our fourth time staying at Stinson Ranch and it never disappoints. Had friends join us this year and they are already wanting to come back next year. No luck fishing, but caught tons of crab.

Stinson Ranch has to be seen to be believed. This is a gorgeous place, with a fascinating story, set in the Sound. It was a delight inside and out. The craftsmanship ship and artistry made the story of the people of Stinson Ranch all the more remarkable. We had a short stay and could hardly tear ourselves away from relaxing on the deck/pier and the amazing sunsets. The kayaking was a bonus. Thank you Erin, Keith, and everyone who make the magic.

Cute rustic house with a beautiful view. Close to many shops and restaurants. Liked the gate at the beginning of the walkway as it allowed peace of mind for pet containment. Hosts were super nice and responded quickly for help.

Stinson Ranch is an experience in and of itself! Ambiance with a laid back feel! Everything you need to make a nice meal, coffee and paper goods on site, and such a great view off the docks! Great getaway spot!

We were delighted with the entire experience. Everything was well stocked and easy communication with the owners. This is a very relaxing place and close to lots of fun things to do. The sunrises/sunsets were beautiful from the deck. We will definitely be coming back!

This property is magical! Relaxing on the porch hammock swing overlooking the water is a treat. The outdoor shower allows you to clean up after a day at the beach or sound while watching a beautiful sunset. The hosts are amazing and a breeze to communicate with. The place is cozy, clean, artsy, and has a story behind it as well. Everything you need is included, down to laundry pods and nightlights. I highly recommend!

It was a great place to stay. Kitchen is fully equipped with all you need to made make a wonderful meal. Great place to relax, wonderful views. Hosts are excellent. Would stay again. Fish weren't biting though.

Two couples, a weekend of cards, views and fishing. We couldn't have asked for a better location. You are close enough to it all but still secluded. A little piece of heaven on water. We all agreed, this is our favorite rental yet at OBX. Book it; you won't regret it. Or don't and then it'll leave it open for us!

Lovely home. Well kept and well loved. Thoroughly enjoyed the attention to detail. Communication with owner was very prompt! Kitchen was nice and met our needs to eat in and enjoy the view.

The cottage was wonderful! It was clean and inviting! We also appreciated the nicely organized kitchen to prepare our meals. And the bedrooms held out just right for our family of 7.The view of the Sound and the beautiful sunsets were amazing from the deck! And we really enjoyed biking to the dunes, visiting the Wright Brothers Memorial, and enjoying the nearby ocean.Thank you so much for sharing your cottage's history with us! Exceptional stay in a one of a kind sound front home! The host was welcoming and accommodating. The home was immaculately clean, had everything we needed, and had stunning water views from every window. We experienced great peace and relaxation here. The location was central to many places on the Outer Banks yet we were tucked away in a quieter space to enjoy the natural beauty of the Soundside landscape. We enjoyed daily walks to a soundside beach and to Jockey’s Ridge state park, spectacular sunsets, and much more. We will definitely hope to stay here again!

**Absolutely Amazing & One-of-a-Kind!**Stinson Ranch is truly unlike anywhere we’ve ever stayed! **You are literally staying on the Roanoke Sound**, surrounded by water, incredible views, wildlife, and some of the most spectacular sunsets you’ll ever see.The cottage has so much charm and character, while still providing everything you need for a comfortable stay. The **three decks are incredible**, especially the main deck with its rope lights, comfortable seating, swing, and amazing water views. Just steps away, the water platform makes getting into the sound for swimming, kayaking, or paddleboarding incredibly easy.We especially loved the **upstairs loft and private deck**. Having breakfast overlooking the sound and ending the day under the stars was unforgettable.The location is perfect — peaceful and relaxing, yet close to Jockey’s Ridge, Jennette’s Pier, Manteo, restaurants, shops, and the beach.This isn’t just a place to stay — **it’s an experience!** If you’re looking for something truly unique on the Outer Banks, Stinson Ranch is an absolute must. We loved every minute and would return in a heartbeat!

After spending a lot of time in the Outer Banks (and rentals in general) this little sound side cottage is by far our best experience to date. As a writer, there are moments and places you know you will write about in depth ... places that inspire, encourage curiosity and demand rest all at the same time. It's safe to say this was one of those spaces. But for those looking for particulars more than poetic musings, the hosts were both kind and responsive. The view was immaculate, the house itself was stocked with more essentials than any other rental we've stayed in (paper towels, bath towels, trash bags, dishwasher pods ... all the things you typically don't want to buy on vacation but are forced to), the thermostat was entirely unnecessary as we kept the doors open and enjoyed the breeze. For those who care, the entire cottage is furnished in vintage pieces, unique findings, and foraged trinkets (like glass bottles covered in barnacles) not the mass produced and cheesy beach house decor you're used to. It genuinely felt like we were staying in a friend's well loved home instead of a VRBO rental. I could easily go on for days ... I could share that it's close enough to South Beach Grill you could walk to it, or that Surfing Spoon is just a short drive away. I could talk about the quiet morning walks down the road that lead straight to a back entrance of Jockey's Ridge or the gentle sway of the house that is only felt at night once you lie down but I've run out of characters.

This cottage was ideal for my birthday getaway with my husband & 2 fur babies. Everything was clean, well stocked. The kitchen has everything you need. The beds are comfortable! Erin was great at communicating and responding to any questions we had. The views and sunsets are spectacular and so relaxing. We had a great time! Definitely will come back! Thank you!

Perfect house setup for 2 families. House smelled clean when we walked in the door. Erin was on top of communication and made check in and out easy. The sunsets were stunning, the amenities were fabulous - worse problem we had was figuring out the setting on the refrigerator (but google to the rescue)! And can we talk about all the hooks throughout the house to hang up your towels!!! She has made this house very teenage friendly. We can’t wait to come back again!

This was an amazing find and unforgettable experience for us to be on the sound side in Nags Head. The location was fantastic for exploring the southern OBX area. The accommodations were perfect for the five of us (2 adults with 3 older kids) and our two small dogs, and the hospitality was incredible - the hosts thought of everything and even provided a small gift bag and personal note. It is an intimate and cozy home that is perfect for a relaxing time enjoying the sound views and steady breeze. What a treasure and blessing that this host family is sharing their home like this. The cottage was an unforgettable experience that we hope to come back to next year!
