A Slice of Paradise in Oceanfront Condo (Island Sands)

Location, location, location! Wake up to diamonds sparkling on the ocean top.
Spectacular top floor views of Makena, Molokini crater, and the Island of Kahoolawe. Whales in full view from our lanai during whale season, all while enjoying your morning coffee and fresh island fruits! A short walk down the street brings you to 4 miles of a pristine white sand beach that you can walk along the ocean to North Kihei. Along the walk is the Kealia pond bird sanctuary. Also down our street in the other direction is a 10 minute walk to shops, restaurants, sunset cruises, snorkel & diving trips, whale watching tours, and the world famous Maui Ocean Aquarium. Maalaea is centrally located and convenient to all areas on the island, whether it be the port town of Lahaina, the pristine grounds of Wailea, or rural upcountry. All of these are within 1/2 hour or less drive from our condo. There are also 4 golf courses within a 5 mile radius.
Our condo has been fully remodeled. Tile and wood floors. Bathroom has a walk-in shower. The kitchen has granite counter tops, custom red birch cabinets, new appliances, ice-maker, washer/dryer, and dishwasher.
Large bedroom with comfortable Queen bed.
Fully stocked library of movies to view, games, and books. Free WiFi.
Decorated with some original vintage hawaiian art and tropical decor adds to the appeal.
The rooms have louvered windows (with screens) which allow the breeze to pass through. Ceiling fans in every room and out on lanai. A/C in living room.
Binoculars for viewing the whales when in season and sea turtles, not to mention some of the best surfers right out front.
Beach chairs, small cooler, umbrella, and snorkel gear provided.
Keyless keypad door entry. Assigned parking space.
Grill fresh island fish at one of our 2 gas BBQ's poolside while watching the Maui sunset.
If you've been dreaming about getting away to paradise, our condo is for you. You will not be disappointed - being next to the ocean with vast views and hearing the waves are pure heaven.

Enjoyable Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay in this condo. Great location and views. Clean and comfortable, with everything we needed and more. One minor problem was quickly remedied by the owner. Will definitely consider staying here again.

Stress relief

I just spent a wonderful week decompressing and quieting the mind. I already miss the view of the surfers, ocean and islands from your lanai. The pink tone sunsets were beautiful and the night time stars, so bright. Thank you for a restful vacation.

Just as advertised

The condo was just as we expected, with everything we need from beach chairs to coolers to a well furnished kitchen. And there was more in Maalaea than we expected. Our only surprise was the wind coming down over the flat part of the island from Kahului (July).

Great Location and Condo!

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful condo with incredible views. It was perfect for us! We ate some of our meals on the lanai, watching the boats come and go. We also enjoyed watching some very good surfers! We could see the sea turtles bobbing their heads up out of the water, along with schools of manta rays. The comfortable chaise lounge chair on the lanai was appreciated to relax and read a book, or nap on! The breezes kept us cool without needing the A/C, as we would rather listen to the ocean anyway! We like staying away from busy and crowded resorts. This location was peaceful and quiet, yet central to all areas on the island. We will definitely come back and stay here again, only longer!! Susan

Absolute Paradise!

Morning and afternoons on the fabulous lanais, constant breeze to keep us comfy, thoroughly outfitted kitchen and perfect location for exploring the island. We enjoyed walking the long Ma’alaea beach with no development and lots of shells. The condo was very comfortable and so nicely furnished. We enjoy cooking in and the kitchen had everything we needed. Each room had a ceiling fan which kept the condo cool with no need for A/C. The condo and the complex were very well maintained and the grounds and pool were beautiful. My husband and I like to explore Maui and this condo is right in the heart, allowing us to quickly get to all parts and all activities. We didn’t want to leave – in fact, we didn’t – we extended our stay by 2 days and the owners were very kind to work with us as we changed all our plans – and also as we made our original plans. We only recommend this condo to those who can tolerate fabulous views, comfortable surroundings and sun-filled days that make you never want to leave Maui.

A True Home Away from Home

My husband and I recently spent 10 days in this beautiful condo overlooking the ocean in Maalaea. It’s hard to imagine a better place to stay. The hosts have thought of everything—every utensil, dish, bowl, pot, frying pan, pencil and paper, tote bags, detergent, spices in the food closet , oil, vinegar—you get the idea. We felt as though they did everything in their power to make our stay a good one, and it was. They probably didn’t arrange for us to see the couple of whales we did from their balcony, but it would also not have surprised us to learn they had a hand in it. Returning each evening to the condo was a true respite from our busy days. Sitting on the lanai, watching and listening to the ocean, made for a perfect ending to each amazing day on Maui. The only criticism we can offer is that it made leaving VERY hard. If you are looking for a great place to stay on Maui, you can’t beat this one. Enjoy!

wonderful view and central location!

We really enjoyed our stay last week! the apartment was perfect for the two of us. the view was spectacular and we loved eating breakfast on the lanai in the mornings and watching the surfers. the location was very central and it was so convenient to get around the island from Maalaea. Thanks Vicki and John for sharing this property with us!

Islands Sands property is lovely. The grounds are always kept in pristine condition.

We have stayed in Island Sands for the past six years and have found it very comfortable. Everything you need is there. The view is wonderful from the Lania, whales can be seen often. We do like the location, as it is quiet and everywhere you want to go is easily accessible. A walk to the beach or to the harbour is lovely in the morning. Very relaxing I must say! We enjoy the people we meet there at the pool, the coffee party Friday mornings, and also the pupu party on Saturday evening. All in all a great place to stay in paradise.

Wonderful stay at this wonderful condo with a spectacular view!

Perfect location away from the crowds for this very comfortable condo! We loved the 7 minute walk to the harbor village of Maalaea and the 7 minute walk to the beach. We spent a lot of time on the lanai eating breakfast each morning, watching the whales in the afternoon and having a glass of wine as the sun set. It was a wonderful vacation!

Exceeded our expectations!

The condo was clean and it had everything we needed plus more! The view from the lania was perfect to have breakfast and drink our morning coffee. The condo also had a nice breeze that kept us comfortable. We didn't even have to turn the AC on during our stay. The location was perfect for us. We loved our first Maui trip so much! We will definitely be back in the near future!

Beautiful and peaceful location

I loved my stay in 604. The condo was exceptionally clean and the kitchen was well stocked with essentials. What I loved most was the view from the lanai, watching the waves and rainbows. Really a wonderful place for a peaceful vacation.

Great property and management

Super comfy, cozy, and updated condo

My husband and I just stayed at this condo Oct 2015 for 9 days, and it was perfect for us. The location was great, although not many stay in Maalaea Bay. We were able to spend two days on the road to Hana, surfing and shopping in Lahaina, oh and went to the Haleakala crater- so were able to see a lot of the island since the location is so centralized. The trade winds were neat and quickly cooled down the condo during the day. Weather was beautiful and we spent a whole day down at the pool, which was perfect. Even the other condo owners were super pleasant. The bed was ultra comfortable, I loved the lanai, and the kitchen was pretty well stocked with whatever I needed. Overall we made the right choice! I loved the decor, and furnishings and the owners were great too. Thanks for sharing your piece of maui heaven with us.

Honeymoon stay

We enjoyed this property so so much! We stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon and the place was so centrally located, accommodating, and reasonably priced. Both my husband and I wish we would have had our entire Maui stay at this property. We both said "why are we going to a fancy hotel as an "upgrade"?' We truly enjoyed, Vicki was super helpful and answered all questions promptly. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Central location with easy access to harbor activities, bus line, and other tourist activities.

This condo fit our needs perfectly and would rate good plus; it is in an older but well maintained, clean building, and nicely landscaped surroundings. The condo has been nicely updated and is fully stocked with everything one needs. The owners are very accommodating. We especially enjoyed the view of the pool area and the ocean. Ceiling fans in all of the rooms kept us very comfortable. This condo is an easy walk to the harbor, bus line, and the beach. It is also centrally located for all tourist activities. We would definitely consider staying here again on future trips. T

Great location .. easy access to anything you might want to do.

We stayed here for 6 nights in March and had a great time. Saw whales from the balcony every day and turtles swimming when we walked to the beach. It's location makes it easy to get to wherever you may want to go.

Great Stay

The condo was perfect for our stay: good location, nice view of the ocean, and not surrounded by giant hotel complexes. Pictures of the place were accurate. Everything that you could think of was provided, so it was nice not to have to run to the store for anything. We saw whales from the balcony and the binoculars provided was a really nice touch! Nice restaurants nearby too, surprisingly good pizza place (Porto) that benefits whales is just up the street as an example. Construction in and around the building may be an annoyance for some, but we were just there for the weekend and didn't sleep in on Monday so it wasn't a big deal. Overall, an amazing place to stay!

Islands Sands - Amazing Location

We loved every bit of this condo. The location was perfect, as we were a short distance from the waves no matter what part of the island they were on. We travelled the whole island many times over. Central and convenient, we were close to everything we needed. BUT we were not in the middle of the crowds! We had a quiet secluded beach to ourselves most days. The pool was never crowded and it the condo it self was quiet. The views from this condo, words cannot describe. We saw sunrises, sunsets and everything in between. We watched whales every day. A special treat indeed. The condo itself has everything you will need for your vacation. It was clean, well kept and updated. Thanks for all of the information and making this a trip to remember. We will be back!

good and not so good

+: tastefully and _very_ well appointed, nice view, balcony has shadow the whole day, well-kept building, no noise from neighbors, cleanliness very good. -: a/c very noisy, timer clock limits use of a/c to one hour (In my view that is _not_ acceptable if you advertise a/c), only street parking (may be a problem in high season) the apartment is exactly on the approach path to Kahului airport so there is aircraft noise, the sleeping room has a very small window, hence it is pretty dark and ventilation is far from optimal (no a/c in bedroom).

A rental management company had handled our vacation rentals for the last 12 years, and it was rated A+ Superior quality. We are now managing the vacation rental ourselves through VRBO! We hope you will enjoy our Maui home as much as we do!

We fell in love with the views, the sounds of the ocean, & the central proximity to all island locations. The tropical breezes we get are soothing and cooling. Air conditioning is rarely needed. The grounds surrounding our building are immaculate and filled with beautiful Hawaiian plants and flowers. In our lobby is a welcoming waterfall and small pond filled with koi fish. The back side of our building has the West Maui Mountains in full view. We are on a quiet street that dead ends to a sandy swimming beach with showers and shade trees. It also begins a unobstructed 5 mile sand beach walk into Kihei.
This is a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of our Maui paradise.
It is very peaceful here - and one of the best kept secrets of Maui!
