Located just steps from Moonstone Beach, you'll be breathing the ocean air and taking in dramatic sunsets from the expansive, upper-level balcony and living area.
Pinestone is the ideal launch pad for long walks along Moonstone Beach, wine-tasting in Paso Robles, hiking and sight-seeing in Big Sur or touring Hearst Castle. Or, let Pinestone be your destination. Make use of the upper-level "Great Room", the heart of Pinestone, where a fully loaded entertaining kitchen, dining room and living room with fireplace, extend seamlessly into large balconies at either end of the house. Whether you are cooking a feast with loved ones or lounging on the couch, this open, communal space offers you breathtaking panoramic ocean views at all times. Each of Pinestone’s four bedrooms has its own private full bathroom and sliding glass doors leading to personal outdoor space. All the reviews pretty much tell you the negatives and positives. It is an old property and at the ocean so you have mold (back porch) and stuck screens. The garage lights were out. No paper towels but I brought some. The bed was comfortable, which is important. We were looking for a great location and enough room for 4 couples. This was perfect. It was my 70th birthday with all my children so I was very happy. We want to do this every year so that should tell you something! Moonstone Beach is magical!

The house's location is incredible, literally steps from Moonstone Beach. If you are hoping for lots of walks along the beach, this is an ideal location! Within five minutes of walking out the front door, you can be down on the beach getting your feet wet and looking for pebbles, shells, and sea glass. It's a 10-minute walk along the boardwalk to Madeline's on Moonstone for coffee or wine.The house is spacious, clean, and orderly. Two bedrooms upstairs along with living room and kitchen, and two bedrooms downstairs. The furniture and fixtures are basic and lived-in. We had hoped to do movie nights, but since the TV was small and the seating uncomfortable, we didn't spend much time in the living room. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, cookware, and basic appliances. Everything is a bit worn, but functional. Fridge was sparkling clean.Bathrooms are very small, very little counter space. No full length mirror in the house. Towels and bedding were good quality and abundant. Mattresses were new-ish and firm.Suggestion: It would be very helpful to include a mirror and hooks (or coatrack) in the downstairs entryway.Overall, it was a great stay! Having four en-suite bedrooms this close to the beach made it well worth it!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Convenient location, amazing views. Great to have all en-suite rooms. Minimal furnishings and TV/Cable unreliable at best. Kitchen and appliances great. Enjoyed coffee on the veranda watching the fog lift listening to the waves. We even saw a pod of whales!! Needs a deep cleaning, some painting, and the sliding glass doors on the north side are all but impossible to move (like get a hernia if you do).

Perfect Oceanfront Location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We booked this VRBO to celebrate our 50th anniversary with our family and it met and exceeded our expectations. It is just steps away from Moonstone Beach and Boardwalk with lots of restaurants just a short step. The VRBO was exactly as described, check in and out was simple and contactless. There were four bedrooms each with its own bathroom, a TV with complete cable, and direct exterior access through a sliding glass door. Two of the bedrooms are on the bottom level (these included gas fireplaces) and the other two on the top adjoining the common living space and kitchen. Everything we needed including extra pillows and blankets, kitchenware and appliances, beach chairs, puzzles and games, a Bluetooth Player, laundry, and bathroom supplies were available in abundance. The temperature was extremely moderate even during the day mid-summer. We stayed six days and visited the Lighthouse, the elephant seal rookery and visitor center, the Hearst Castle, and Covell's Clydesdale Ranch, in addition to many visits to the local shops and eateries in Cambria. We had a larger than expected number of foggy/marine layer nights, so we didn't get as many sunsets as we would have liked, but you can't control Mother Nature. It might help if one of the smaller bedrooms were equipped with twin or bunk beds rather than a queen to make it more suitable for families with multiple children not used to sleeping in the same bed with each other, although the couch in the living room can also be used as an extra sleeping option.

Amazing Vacation House in Cambria

The house is comfortable for a large group with each bedroom having its own bathroom, and a large open plan kitchen/living area. With the location to close to Moonstone beach, we were able to walk to restaurants and we walked to the little main part of town. So nice to not have to drive to get around! I also really appreciated use of the garage to park our cars.

This house was absolutely perfect for 4 couples. Everyone loved having their own bathroom. The house was very spacious & the views were spectacular. Would definitely recommend this house for future travel.

Perfect spot

Our family enjoys a holiday meet-up every year. First time in Cambria. This property was the perfect (and hard to find) 4 ensuite bedrooms and a very cozy large room for an early celebration. Walked the boardwalk, strolled the town, and visited Hearst Castle. Highly recommend.

Walk across the street to access the coastal boardwalk and stroll to several excellent restaurants. We learned too late that the shuttle to and from the Cambria Pines Lodge Christmas Market and Lights now has four stops along Moonstone Beach, including one a block from the house. In short, this was a perfect choice for a group of friends sharing a holiday together. (Oh, yes — check-in and check-out were super easy!)

No direction for fireplace. Batteries on TV & VCR we expired. No house book! Fortunately the repair man came quickly & had a great attitude. Between him & my husband worked together to resolve issues. The house needs any kind of espresso appliance ( stove top or electric). Milk frothier & coffee grinder needed for those who need a good coffee before leaving the house. A bit dated used furnishings. Too many throw pillows & no place to store while using bed. No hand or Stand- up mixer at all. We are big time cookin’ people a Cordon Bleu’ graduate who had to bring cast iron skillet. Great access to any type of activity. Just felt like the house truly needed a fresh lift & update.

Friend getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A small group of old friends met up for a weekend away, midway between LA and the Bay Area. The house location was perfect for dinner on the balcony overlooking the ocean, followed by walking across the street to watch the sunset from the beach. The Cambria farmers market on Fridays was a perfect stop to pick up dinner needs to cook at the house. Morning walks on the beach , the town of Cambria just up the street, plus an easy 30 minute drive to Paso Robles for amazing wine tasting all made for an incredible weekend. The house was easy to access and had everything we needed for our stay. As an added bonus, this was the first rental in Cambria (and I’ve stayed in many) that had instant hot water, making washing dishes and showering much quicker. We would happily stay in this house again.

Adult Cousin Reunion

8 of us adult girl cousins spent 4 nights and 5 days at this lovely home. The home was comfortable and the location perfect for us. Dinning was in walking distance and the town of Cambria less than a 10 minute drive. We all had a great time!
