No Pets Allowed. Not suitable for children. This vacation condo is located on the serene bluff, overlooking San Simeon Beach by Pico Creek. San Simeon is the gateway to Big Sur, and a perfect "home base" if you plan on traveling up scenic Highway 1, to the Elephant Seal sanctuary, or visit the famed Hearst Castle. Only 5 minutes south to picturesque Cambria, which is known for it's soulful charm, galleries, shopping, & restaurants. Set away from the hustle and bustle of a more populated beach front area, this is a quiet place, where people come to relax and repair. You are within a short stroll to the restaurants and shops in San Simeon. No pets allowed. No more than 4 guests at any time. Waterfront, Fireplace out of order, Smart tv's, VCR, Dvd, Cd player, BBQ, washer / dryer, dishwasher. Exterior security cameras cover front door and driveway. TOT #0000554

Location, above the waves, quiet. We were busy exploring the area, but the best part of the day was sipping a glass of wine, watching a lone surfer, surrounded by birds diving for fish. So comfortable and clean. Only complaint is the lock on the dumpster needs oiling or replacement.We will be back next year.

Everything was wonderful! The locationā€¦ the close access out your door to the beach ā€¦ the weather and temperatures!! Only drawback was one bedroomā€¦ the bed frame appeared to be brokenā€¦ so bed was off/leaning !We had a great family time there and the surrounding towns with the wineries!!

Ocean fun

We come to the coast once a year to enjoy the ocean and surrounding areas. We loved the Lighthouse and Hearst Castle. We also enjoyed wineries along the way.

A peaceful getaway

All in all I had a lovely stay. It was just the peaceful break that I needed. I initially had a hard time finding it but other than that it was PERFECT. I hope to go back in the future!

Fantastic property, great location

What a beautiful stay right on the ocean with a private staircase down to the beach. Well maintained property. We canā€™t wait to come back. Be advised youā€™ll need to stop in Cambria on the way in to sign a contract before you can get the door code. No idea why this is necessary given the contract through Vrbo, but it isnā€™t too much out of the way, unless youā€™ve been driving all day and paperwork isnā€™t high on your todo list.

My only downside was that there were no windows or door walls that opened. Fireplace was out of order and apparently has been for quite some time according to the website...please get that fixed as it would have been nice to have during the chilly evenings.

Lovely beachfront location

Weā€™ve visited San Simeon many times. This was our first beachfront rental. The view was spectacular and we could hear waves at night. The condo was very clean and had everything necessary for a good stay. We worked each morning and found the internet fast. Loved the main floor walkout to watch the sunset. There is a Mexican restaurant and a few diners a short walk away. Cambria has plenty of dining and grocery shops. The best beach for families is San Simeon State Park which is calm. We hope to visit again in a month.

One of the only things missing was the sun.

This unit is accurately described, and comfortable stay in for two for a weekend. The living room is set up a bit awkward with a couch along the wall facing the TV, then a table, and then two recliner lounges, also facing the TV. (not a comfortable arrangement, for us, anyway). Also, it would be nice if some of the windows opened in the living area. All in all, it was amazing to be right on the beach and we got to enjoy one beautiful sunset!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I can see no reason to stay at any other place on the Central California coast, as this one is absolutely perfect! The location is unparalleled, sitting on the edge of about a 20 foot high bluff over the beach, with the back door opening from the living/dining area right onto a flagstone patio with comfortable Adirondack chairs, overlooking the beach. The dining table has a view to die for, and sits in front of large plate glass windows that uniquely meet at an angle, affording a view up and down the beach in both directions. The kitchen is well-stocked (I love to cook, and am rather picky about this), the bed in the master bedroom (the only one we have slept on) is quite comfortable, and the en suite bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower. Any interactions with the manager on site (great guy, sometimes staying in the condo directly above), and staff in Cambria, have always been excellent. This is our second stay here, and unlike the first visit, this time I was unable to get the gas fireplace lit, but no matter, the ocean and beach views trump all. Be prepared for some spectacular sunsets! And with everything on the ground floor, it is perfect for us, as my wife uses a walker and wheelchair. I seriously will not consider staying at any other place now on the coast.
