Tucked away on a hillside, with gorgeous dual views overlooking the Caribbean Sea to the east and Coral Bay's harbor to the south, this three-bedroom home is adorned with colorful island decor and local art, making "Happy Our" a welcome vacation retreat.

Enjoy amazing sunrises as a perfect way to start the morning, the changing colors of the Caribbean throughout the day, and a sky full of stars in the evening.

The convenient location to the village of Coral Bay and beaches are more reasons to choose "Happy Our!"

Spend your days swimming, sunning, or snorkeling at one of St. John's world-famous National Park white sand beaches. Many of the most beautiful beaches on St. John, are only a a short scenic drive away, and the village of Coral Bay, with its restaurants and shops, is only 5 minutes from the house. The town of Cruz Bay and the ferry dock is a 25 minute drive.

"Happy Our" has a perfect layout for 2 or 3 couples or a family of up to 6. With 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, the house has 2 main suites with queen beds, both with memory foam mattresses and private full bathrooms, plus a third bedroom on the upper level, with 2 twins beds that can convert to a king, and with use of the main floor full bathroom. The bedrooms and living areas have ceiling fans; the upper level bedroom has air conditioning if needed.

The kitchen has everything needed for meal preparation or cooking on the outdoor grill. The house has WiFi and a water filtration system so there's no need to buy bottled water. "Happy Our" has all the amenities you need for a perfect island vacation!

"Happy Our" accommodates triple occupancy reservations only during the low season. (November*, May, June, July);
4 guest minimum occupancy *Thanksgiving week and Dec. through April.
Seven-night minimum during holiday weeks: Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year
Six-night minimum during other high and low season weeks.

High season rates: Dec. 1-April 30: $260/night double occupancy* + $40/each addl. guest/night. Minimum 4-guest occupancy; 7-night minimum stay
*Except for Christmas weeks (Dec. 17-Jan. 2) $270/night double occupancy + $40/each addl. guest/night

Low season rates: November and May, June, July

Wonderful Villa, Wonderful Location

A very well maintained, thoughtfully decorated, comfortable and restful villa. The views are also peaceful and perfect for an island get away. Love the colors and the villa layout. Worked great for two couples.

Great stay in Coral Bay

This was our 4th trip to St. John and this was our favorite rental property so far. Great views of Coral Bay and East End. We spent a lot of time on the porch in the afternoon and evening. House was well equipped and well decorated. Bedrooms are separated enough for privacy of parents and older kids or two couples. We did not use the cottage. Some reviewers commented on the drive up to the house, but it wasn't an issue for us. Adventurous driving is part of the fun of St. John!

Excellent Location & Fun Decor

This was our second trip to St. John and it was even better than the last! We really enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere of the Coral Bay area; with easy access to all the north side beaches and great restaurants. The drive to Cruz Bay has amazing views and was part of the adventure! The living room was nice and breezy with stunning views. It was so relaxing to see the moon overlooking the 2 bays from the hot shower after a long day of snorkeling. The amenities such as coolers, extra beach chairs and beach towels were such a great touch. The driveway was fun! Highly recommend!

This property is exactly as listed and pictured. It couldn't be a happier space. Personality galore. Helen (owner) & Tom (property manager) were both fantastic to communicate with. We love the Coral Bay side of the island - fewer people - very chill vibe. We highly recommend Happy Our.

Another Great Time On Island

First time bringing a friend to St John. Our sixth visit in 22 years. This was our first time staying down in Coral Bay. Enjoyed access to groceries, restaurants and North Shore beaches easily. Views are the best long range we have ever had. House was outfitted for our needs. We absolutely love TOM. He was great at checkin and very responsive when we needed another key worked out for our mixed group. Thank you for sharing your home!

Lovely property

The home was very nice. Well furnished. Great views. Comfortable. Excellent example of island life. Fun to get to, like most homes on the island. Would have appreciated some soap for showers (expected based on listing) and facial tissues. Felt sorry for the property manager having to meet us late because of flight delays. Otherwise, an experience worth having.

Happy Our

The unique layout of Happy Our was perfect for our family with two older teenagers. Our 15 year-old enjoyed having the separate cottage with its own bath and porch area. We enjoyed several dinners at Skinny Legs and the close proximity of so many great beaches for snorkeling! Helen, the host, responded quickly to any pre-trip inquiries and provided lots of great information to help with planning. Tom, the local property manager, was so friendly. He was very easy to communicate with and went above and beyond!

Happy Our was our happy place.

Fun loving, colorful funky charm. I do not think the pictures do the home justice. Nestled overlooking Coral Bay and Hurricane Hole, every day we saw inspiring sunrises. Property was slightly off the beaten path which is ideal place for us. The island is not large do access to other parts is a breeze. The host was helpful in recommending local charters, car rentals, restaurants and other services. We definitely would go back again. Thank you for awesome time

The perfect place!

We loved Happy Hour! There was so much indoor/outdoor space for our family. Never felt crowded. The views were just spectacular and the breezes were terrific. A great location to get to so many beaches and trails. Skinny Legs restaurant and Salty Mongoose within just a few minutes from the villa. 2 grocery stores in very close proximity. Lots of opportunities to rent dinghyā€™s boats snorkle gear and such. The Lime Out was an absolute must go! Would have given anything to stay a second week!

Almost Heaven

Happy Our is beautiful and although it was just the 2 of us it would be a perfect home for 4 or even 6 people. The bedrooms provide lots of privacy and the common area is very spacious and comfortable. The views are spectacular and watching the sunrise from bed or the deck with a cup of coffee was a daily treat. Helen was very responsive and provided lots of helpful information to help with trip planning. Tom got us nicely situated and made himself available should we have needed him (which we did not). One cautionary note if you have a fear of heights as I do, the driveway is a bit terrifying. Tom assured us that we would get better at navigating it, and we did, but I never got over my dread of that trip. Despite the daily test of my nerves, everything else was perfect!

Perfect for our group

We had a group consisting of myself and girlfriend, a great friend of ours who had been my college roommate and had lived in the Virgin Islands before, and my brother and my 8-year old nephew. As two of us were pretty familiar with what to expect in the USVI, it was great - we loved being on the Coral Bay side of things, which is much quieter and more neighborhoody. Steep, steep driveway, with lots of zig-zags, but it makes the view worth it. There was one corner that we could never get around smoothly, we had to three-point it on the edge of the hillside. Kind of par for the course in the USVI - these are STEEP islands!! Loved the setup of the house; Main living area had a loft with 2 twin beds. Downstairs apartment for one person or a couple. A separate cabin for another couple just a few steps away from the main house. Loved the outdoor shower! Something great about washing off the beach salt while looking at a great view! Here on the far east end of the island, it is definitely not a nightlife spot, and very little shopping. Just nature, locals, and a quiet pace of life. The kitchen was pretty well set up, we did a lot of dinners at home, and packed a lot of lunches for the beach or boat. There are a few solid restaurants on this end of the island, and we were pleased with the grocery in Coral Bay as well, though I guess the prices were a bit high, but come on, beats driving to Cruz Bay! Skinny Legs is right at the bottom of the driveway for burgers, drinks, camaraderie, and live music. Indigo Grill had great apps, pizza, and local fish. Our favorite was Miss Lucy's - great West Indian food, a program of music (steel pan when we were there, Jazz thursdays, and a Jazz Sunday Brunch.) Really easy reach of Mahoe Bay, the East end (Vie's Beach/Hansen Bay area was great, loved it!) We went to Lameshur Bay, which has a much better road than I remember. We didn't actually use the pool, as we were so well situated for snorkeling and beaches, and we'd rather be in that gorgeous Caribbean water! Thanks - we enjoyed it very much, and we would definitely try to book this again if we had a similar composition of people in our group!

We chose this home for its location and views, but there were several important things we were not aware of before arriving that future guests should know.2 of the 3 showers are literally OUTSIDE . The only bedroom w/ air is inside the main living area & requires going up and down steep stairs and exiting the home to use the bathroom . Hard at night. The upstairs main living space is also not accessible from the lower bedroom/bath without going outside. And down stairsThere is air conditioning only in one upstairs bedroom. Once the sun comes up, the house heats up quickly, even with cross breezes. The best plan is truly to leave for the beaches during the day and not return until dark.The driveway is extremely steep and tricky to navigate, even with a 4WD Jeep. After rain, it becomes very difficult and at times nearly impossible to drive up.We also experienced rodent droppings on a daily basis, some days worse than others. Photos were sent each day to the property manager. In addition, small red bugs swarmed any food left out in the kitchen. Because the house is kept open to the elements at all times, all food had to be stored in the refrigerator, even items that normally would not need refrigeration.Security was also a concern. Because doors and windows must remain open for ventilation, nothing truly locks up tightly. While St. John is generally considered safe, this felt uncomfortable and unsettling at times.This home may work for travelers who enjoy the outdoors.

Beautiful coral bay home

Thank you to the owners for sharing this property. The house was very comfortable and in perfect condition. Very well equipped. We wound up enjoying cooking and relaxing in the evening at Happy Our after a day of hiking and snorkeling: we did not want to leave. Hope to rent again next year.

Hairpin turn steep driveway

The steep driveway and hairpin turn to get to the house was scary. The owner's car was parked in the driveway the entire time. There was only one room with AC. The fridge/freezer didn't work well. All things not mentioned in the description. Overall it was clean and we enjoyed the view and the breeze on the patio.

Happy Our is every hour on St. John!

The delightful Happy Our is tucked away on the top of a hill overlooking Coral Bay ā€“ (located about 30 minutesā€™ drive from busy Cruz Bay.) It has beautiful views and wonderful breezes throughout! The house is delightfully decorated in lively Caribbean colors with great artwork and whimsical tropical fish! The layout of the house was perfect for our group of 5; it has plenty of ā€œtogether spaceā€ between the living room, dining room and spacious deck while the bedrooms allow for private winddown time! The kitchen has everything you need for making meals when you donā€™t want to go out to eat. The spacious deck off the main house is ideal for enjoying morning coffee, evening cocktails and those breezes! My husband and I stayed in the ā€œcottageā€ which has its own patio and a large outdoor shower! There are plenty of linens provided, including beach towels; there were more than enough easy to carry beach chairs and coolers which came in very handy! We booked this property for a family vacation with our adult children to celebrate my husbandā€™s retirement. Helen the owner surprised us with beer and wine in the refrigerator upon our arrival! We were so impressed and appreciative of her kind and thoughtful gesture! Planning for our stay couldnā€™t have been easier, she is a very responsive owner. Prior to our arrival she shared tips and recommendations about restaurants, grocery shopping, beaches, and car rentals ā€“ everything we needed to help make our stay smooth and enjoyable. Property manager Tom was a pleasure, also full of great advice and recommendations. The house is a short drive to Coral Bay restaurants, beaches and two small but well stocked convenient type grocery stores. Driving on St. John is not for the faint of heart! In Coral Bay you share the road with wild donkeys and herds of goats (delightful!) we highly recommend following Helenā€™s advice and renting a 4-wheel drive jeep. The property is as described in the listing; well-cared for, great Coral Bay location, clean and a wonderful place to relax! Lovely little home with cottage

Lovely little home with cottage. My wife and I stayed in the cottage and we love it. Our friends stayed in the master bedroom and they love it as well. Sitting on the deck mornings and evenings was the best.

Re-Donk-ulous stay!

You can't go wrong staying on st john, and Coral Bay is the place to be if you want a quiet and friendly neighborhood with great people. Happy Our was an absolute privilege to stay at. The property was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was well stocked with all we needed, the outdoor shower was amazing, and both the owners and Tom the property manager were attentive and wanted nothing more than for us to have an amazing stay. Not to mention the deck has the most incredible view of Coral Bay and Hurricane Hole. The pictures aren't just accurate, but can't possibly capture just how beautiful that view truly is. And we can't forget to mention the donkeys! We had some amazing encounters across the island with local wildlife, including some wild donkeys who came up the road to say hi as we were driving back to the villa. They were so friendly they were willing to be pet and even pose for pictures. Our girls in particular couldn't talk enough about it! Do yourself a favor, and stay at Happy Our. You won't regret it.

The Perfect Place

Helen was spot on with communication and recommendations for activities. The house was exactly as described. The rooms are spread out enough to get a little distance from the rest of your group when needed with a great central area for being together. Beautiful view of Coral Bay. Very convenient location for food, beaches and dive shop.

Peaceful vibe

Happy Our suited our need perfectly! We came to work at Carolina Corral, and it was less than 5 minutes away! Itā€™s close to town, restaurants, and grocery stores. Sitting up the hill offers a beautiful view and stunning sun rises! My daughter and I felt very safe staying there alone. I slept with the deck doors open every night and loved hearing the night sounds. It got a little warm at times, but using the fan helped a lot. The villa is equipped nicely with plenty of towels, cookware, beach chairs, etc. The villa is very cheery and relaxing! We also had a donkey couple visit one time on the driveway! Tom, the villa manager is a really nice and fun guy to chat with! And Helen the owner is a great communicator! Weā€™re very pleased!

Great views and perfect location close to all bays and beaches!

Happy Our was a perfect beach cottage in a perfect location with stunning views high over Coral Bay for our family of four. Happy Our is perfect for older kids, in our case 17 year old daughter and 15 year old son. We will stay in Coral Bay again as we gained new perspectives on the bays in East End and Salt Pond Beach. A left hand turn at the end of the driveway and just a quick few miles to Haulover Bay and Hansen Bay for some excellent reefs, turtles, sting rays and fish. Salt Pond Beach is a new favorite also with excellent reefs and turtles just up the road (you will literally check off every fish on your fish guide at Haulover and Salt Pond). And the sharp right hand turn onto route 20 cuts a ton of time on driving around the island and brings you right into Maho Bay, Trunk Bay and the rest. With two adventurous teenagers, a 17 year old daughter and 15 year old son, the days of having them share a pullout are over. Happy Our was a perfect property with separate bedrooms (1 side cottage with it's own bathroom) for us all. Kitchen and grill perfect for dinners in and Skinny Legs literally at the end of the drive way for excellent burgers and refreshments. Morgan's Mango in Cruz Bay for the Grand Finale dinner. We loved our stay at Happy Our. Patio views were amazing. Will stay here again!
