Please enjoy our authentic Old Virginia Hand Hewn Log Home located in Northlake Resort, Canaan Valley WV. We offer exceptional value plus an 11 Acre deep water lake with excellent catch and release fishing (no motors). No fishing licenses required. Guests have access to the lake, a small pond, boat dock, trail around the lake, plus an up scale play set. There is also a 40 by 60 foot shelter available with barbecue and huge stone fireplace. Or just hang out in our outdoor hot tub located on a 1500 SF wrap around deck OR inside with our central air conditioning. Located just 3.5 miles south of Davis WV and 5-6 miles from Ski resorts.

Spring Break 2025

Very well kept cabin with plenty of space and a great location in the center of all outdoor activities and close to the town of Davis as well. The host went above and beyond to set up a recording on YouTube TV for me (The Masters!) in case we arrived late. Thank you Cy!

Fantastic place to stay during a big snow and weekend of skiing!

We had a fantastic stay at the rental! The spacious layout provided ample room, and its convenient location near ski resorts was a highlight. We enjoyed the cozy fireplace, well-stocked kitchen, air hockey table, hot tub, and a variety of board games. The abundance of snow we got over the weekend added to the charm, making it a perfect retreat for a memorable getaway!

Great Cabin for a Relaxing Stay

The pictures do not do this place justice. The view from the cabin was great, and everything was well kept. The neighborhood was quite nice as well. The central location of the cabin also made it convenient for visits to Thomas and Davis, as well as Canaan Valley.One thing I would note is that you need to bring your own sheets. I do not believe the listing mentions that, but everything else was as described and the owner was very cordial.

Perfect Getaway!

Our stay at the cabin was perfect! The house was pristine.....clean, spacious, full of everything the 10 of us needed, and great location! The wrap around porch was nice to sit and enjoy our morning coffee and played corn hole on it in the evening. We were able to walk our paddle boards and fishing equipment to the lake. 5 minutes to the town for shopping, dinner, and drinks. Will definitely come back.

Great time

Great fishing giant bluegills bass were smaller but a ton of them and very aggressive my whole family caught tons of fish every day and the walks around the lake and property were great same as Blackwater falls and the little town of Davis people were very friendly.

Great cabin for family vacation

Perfectly located cabin in Canaan Valley with easy access to many outdoor adventures. Space was more than enough for our 8 adults and 2 children. Well stocked kitchen, clean and comfortable living and bedroom space. Great communication with owners.

Fantastic cabin

Our stay at the Cabin was fantastic- We had 3 generations enjoying skiing and hiking in the area. The hot tub was a plus:) The kitchen had everything we needed, and more. House was very clean and communication with the owners was quick and helpful.

Family winter weekend

Stayed at this home for a long holiday weekend with my large family (2 adults and 6 kids). Spacious for large groups yet very cozy. Close to everything. Very clean and well decorated. I highly recommend staying in this home, and I certainly will rent again for a future trip if available.

Comfy Cabin

Our family of grandparents, children and grandkids gathered at the cabin for the long Presidentsā€™ Day weekend. We had planned to ski, tube and skate, but Mother Nature had other ideas. There was heavy rain for two solid days ending with a blizzard the evening before we left. None of that mattered because we thoroughly enjoyed being together in this cozy cabin, playing games, sitting in front of the fire and cooking in the well appointed kitchen. The owners thought of everything. We would definitely love to return in the future.

Sweet summer cabin vibesā€¦

Cabin was spacious and cleanā€¦loved the surrounding property. We enjoyed a little archery competition in the front yard and kayaking in the community lake. Fishing was easy and even a first-timer traveling with us caught something! The driveway was big enough to accommodate four vehicles and a trailer. Wrap around porch and hot tub made morning coffee and evening wine go down even easier. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

Long Weekend in WV

Three generations, ages 1-61YO, had a very nice stay here. The cabin is well-stocked and comfortable across 3 floors. The gated, wraparound porch was great for hanging out, grilling, and checking out the hot tub. The little ones enjoyed playing in the lower level, and fishing from the dock with their parents. Cy was very responsive and a good communicator. Thank you!

Family Fall Weekend

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. As its name says...it's authentic! Very cozy and comfortable. Handled our crew of 11 with ease. The location is great and the kids really enjoyed fishing in the lake and exploring the walking path. The trees were in full color and even though the weather wasn't the greatest it gave us enough opportunity to explore Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley. Our host was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed to make our weekend memorable.

Great winter spot!

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay. The location is centrally located for all winter activities in the area and the house was well outfitted. The house is a beautiful log cabin with a wrap around porch, hot tub, and beautiful view of the lake. Everything is very well cared for and itā€™s a quick drive into Davis for groceries. The only thing that could have been improved was some of the pre-arrival booking info and instructions. We tried to book at the price listed, but were asked to pay more because the owner ā€œonly rents to familiesā€ even though we were married couples in our 30s. However this was a minor issue which was corrected and we all had a great stay.

Wonderful winter house

this house is really fantastic. well maintained, quality house, well stocked with everything you could want. a clean hot tub, pretty much kid-proof (with toys and dollhouse!!), excellent communication, sledding hill out front, not drafty and super cozy layout. it was perfect for our annual friends get together with kids. absolutely loved it. hopefully we will be back.

We loved the property and really appreciated the starter toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, and trash bags. Even basics like salt and pepper were provided. House fit everyone comfortably and itā€™s a lovely location.

Location, location, location! We chose this property because Northlake Resort has so much more to offer than just skiing and is truly a multi-seasonal destination. In fact, the winter season (180 inches of snow annually) is awesome but where we really excel are the summer and fall months because all guests have access to our lake and other common areas located within our 80 acres.
