Located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains just a short distance from scenic Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge ski area is our recently remodeled four bedroom, two bath cabin. Downstairs you'll find the kitchen, dinning, living room and two queen size bedrooms plus bath, upstairs is one queen size bed room and a large room (game room) with two double/twin bunk beds great for kids,and a bathroom. Outside you'll find a huge beautiful new deck to enjoy,Located in the middle of the nearly 1 million acres of the Stanislaus National Forest plenty of adventures await you, Pinecrest lake, Dodge Ridge ski area, Stanislaus river, venture up hwy 108 to Sonora pass(elevation 9624ft) a beautiful drive! Bike, hunt, hike, hang out on the beach at Pinecrest Lake. Just a short drive to the gold country offers much to do, including Black oak Casino, it's all here! Of course if your looking for a peaceful relaxing vacation you'll find that too! The cabin is located in a very peaceful area that even during holiday's you won't see many other people,so relax!

Nice big cozy cabin in the woods. Great place for families.

Great cabin for multiple families or a large family to stay together. The giant outdoor picnic table was a huge hit for eating together.

Sierra luxe cabin

Wonderfully clean, fully stocked kitchen and linens. Very cute bear/moose decor. Fabulous extra big eating tables inside and out. Unfortunately the binder of information very outdated, dump not open as written on frig ( had to take trash home with us). Also propane grill was filthy so we needed a lot of scrubbing to use it. The game room with 2nd TV was wonderful, but also doubled as a bunk bedroom. This caused sleep problems as I thought it was a 4 bedroom with doors house. Regardless of these issues, the cabin was great.

Spacious house well cared for

Overall we had a lovely stay at this property. It is obvious that this house has received a lot of love and the interior decor (bear theme) reflects a lot of thought and money spent. The number of towels seem to be an issue in other reviews. We found plenty of high quality towels for our group of 8. Bed linens, at least on our bed were pretty worn. Our bed had a suspicious stain in the middle of the spread. One of the bunks had some kind of large dust ball on the pillow. We had a couple of maintenance issues one which we were able to solve with the owner's instructions and one which was solved the following day by a maintenance person. Minor inconveniences that can occur in any home. The neighborhood was quiet. Only about 10 minutes from Pinecrest. The Kitchen had everything you could possible want to prepare a meal and all in good condition. The reason we are giving our stay 4 stars is that we were required to remove our garbage from the property. Not to a can at the end of the driveway, but to a dump facility several miles up the road. It is open only 3 days a week and not until 10 am. We believe garbage service on site is a customarily provided utility. If the house doesn't have garbage service, someone other than the tenant should remove it. This is not in inexpensive rental and the garbage issue was a big inconvenience for us.

Glad your stay was pleasant! I'll look into the worn linen thing, we obviously sleep on the same sheets when we stay and haven't noticed that at all. we've been renting for 10 years or so here and can't remember a single maintenance issue in all those years, you were the lucky ones I guess! but light bulbs do burn out occasionally! My biggest problem with your review is that apparently you haven't stayed in the area before? Trash is a big issue in the pinecrest area, there is a service in my neighborhood that is inexpensive, and I'd be more than happy to have it, it's not a money issue, but when renters stay and leave on a day that could be the day after the trash pickup day, those cans can sit out all week, what happens when the wild animals or neighborhood dog comes by and spreads it all over? also since trash is an issue if cans are left by the roadside and(I had this happen before) a person who rented the cabin down the street piles their garbage on or around my cans(and the dogs get in it!)how would you like to be the next family coming in and face that or a neighbor, and no my house cleaning crew won't haul off garbage nor have I ever found a service that does. Families that stay with us have been very understanding of the situation. By the way it was clearly stated about garbage removal being your responsibility in the rental instructions. Great cozy place for family and friends

We really enjoyed staying at this cabin. Cons (I'm being very nitpicky here): cabin had a few minor dust cobwebs (like on a couple ornaments only). There were also a few dead ants on the kitchen counter (only like 10 or so). There also wasn't any hot water (more on this later). The heater upstairs also was s bit fidgety and was off (I think) on arrival. But we figured out how to change the temps a little after. Pros:. Pretty clean overall. Bathroom was clean, bed was clean, and so we're seats and sofas. They also had a great selection of board games with a few missing some pieces. Loved the layout of the place. Close to Pinecrest lake and to a gas station/mini Mart. Additional: we had a last minute reservation and the owners accommodated us greatly. Though we found a few dead ants on arrival, there was no bug problems and we even cooked 2 nights there. As for hot water, we didn't even notice until we came back the second night and showered (we arrived late the first night and already showered at home). We probably could've called the owners to figure out how to turn it on, but it was already night when we got back from the lake. We couldn't find instructions for it in the binder or posted, so we winged it and took cold showers (made for crazy stories later). The board games and entertain kept is occupied, we really appreciated the selection. Beds were comfy and warm. Plenty of sitting room. Loved the dining table and decor too. While there, we saw a rare giant pigeon and a deer, for a few pictures of them too. Note that Verizon is probably the only carrier which has signal there, and there's no wifi but these things are the same no matter which cabin you stay at here. Overall, we would definitely stay again at this place. Had a great time and experience here.

Thanks Toua for your review, We are happy to hear you had a great time with your family! As for the hot water I am sorry to hear about that,I had been there a week before you stay and everything was working fine then and all the guests we have had stay since then have experienced no issues with lack of hot water. So not sure what might have went wrong it is a fully automatic on- demand hot water system that has not given us any issues for the last 5 years we've had the place, so again very sorry for the inconvenience! Beautiful Cabin, minutes from Pine Crest Lake

The pictures do not do this place justice. Absolutely beautiful and was perfect for our large family. The game room was very spacious, enjoyed family game night. I love the large dining table and deck table as our family was able to enjoy meals and play games together at one table! I will definitely be coming back 💙💙💙Pine Crest Lake is about a 7-10 minute drive.

Lovely cabin

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. Everything is as described and there are plenty of amenities. It’s very large, and the interior decorating is very charming and appropriate for a mountain cabin. Our communication through check-in was very easy and everything was in good working order. We hope to come back during ski season.

Jagdhütte wildlife cabin

This cabin is extremely well cared for by the owners, it's not your ordinary cabin or vacation rental. It can comfortably accommodate 2 families (we'd love to return with friends). Massive game room upstairs with bubble hockey and foosball table, in a room with 2 bunk beds (for 4 kids). One bathroom upstairs and one downstairs (not en-suite). 2 baby gates as well. 3 well sized bedrooms. Wood throughout. Our Austrian Au-Pair described it as a European hunting cabin. My son counted 172 bears in the decor in the whole house...there may be more. There were spices in the cabinets, some key things like enough sugar and a couple Keurig coffee pods for your first morning ...all the details. We couldn't think of a thing wrong even if we tried hard. Thanks to the owners for sharing this dream cabin, close to Pinecrest and Dodge Ridge. Can't wait to come again!

Fabulous find near Pinecrest Lake!

This cabin is so clean and wonderful. The game room was amazing (fun for all ages). Updates were great...easy cooking kitchen, plenty of seating both inside and out for dinner. We had a group of 5 adults and 3 kids...spacious for all of us to get our private space. Plenty of towels, comfortable beds. Great location in relation to Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge ski area. We hope to stay here again. The owners have made this place so comfortable and accommodating. You will certainly enjoy staying here.

4 day getaway

My grown daughter and I brought kids from babies to teens for a short getaway. We loved this place. It was hard to get anyone out to explore when hanging in the cabin was so fun. They have thought of everything. Even high end products in the showers to enjoy.The decor was bear themed and super cute. The furniture and beds were clean and cozy.There were more than enough towel if you just look around. What set this place apart though was the huge game room. Fooz ball, Pacman with 4 other games a closet full of games and books. The teens were in heaven. Totally hope to return.

Great for two families

Great house for two families. There are three bedrooms and an upstairs loft with lots of bunk space for kids. The outdoor deck was very nice, and there's plenty of dining space (indoor and out) for a large group. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed and was newly remodeled, which was a nice surprise! (I see other reviews complained about towels, but we found plenty. Check all the cabinets in the bathrooms, including the ones up high!)

Very well maintained cabin. Large floor plan. Things to do for people of all ages. Plenty of beds. Decorated so nice in mountain theme. Owner responded quickly to all questions. Great experience.

This was the 4th time in this beautiful property. We love staying here and all it’s amenities

We love the ambiance of the cabin and the proximity to Pinecrest lake. The only drawback every single time we have stayed here, is that this is a cabin for 10 people. Every time we stayed we’ve been at least 8, and every time there were only 4 bath towels available for all to use. The owner needs to step up and provide more towels, at least enough for the people expected in each reservation.

The cabin has at least 20 towels in inventory! My only thought would be that you're not looking in the right place? It's simply not possible this could have happened to your family 4 times and not to any of the other families we've had stay with us over the years. a simple call/text/email about this and the problem would have been solved!

A great getaway with true cabin feel and appeal!

The log cabin is edtled in a cabin community with surrounded by trees. The cabin was decorated beautifully head to toe. All amenities are present. With extra perks in gaming to pass the time. For our purposes we needed to be able to communicate with local cabins and community and our phone wasnt working so the posed a challenges for us. Trash removal wasnt easy at time of departure due to dump site hours. Other than those two items we really enjoyed our stay and definetly would return.
