Chalet Shelly was a great match for our weekend stay in late July near Pinecrest Lake. There were 8 in our party, ages 7-83. Our initial impression of this home suggested that this location catered to winter sports enthusiasts, rather than summer guests, but the decor grew on us and we enjoyed the amenities offered here. The interior has been newly-refurbished with comfortable beds and nice linens. New flooring, appliances, dishes and upscale pots and pans make the kitchen inviting. A Keurig coffee machine was well-stocked with assorted flavors, and best of all, everything was very clean. The loft upstairs was spacious and a great place for grandkids to play. Loft also provided sleeping quarters for them, as well as their parents, all on the same floor. Lower level bedrooms easily accommodated aging grandparents and an adult daughter. The major drawback was ventilation. It was hot, & in the lower queen bedroom, window was locked and there was no screen. (A small fan helped.) There also was no screen door on the deck entry to allow air in and keep insects out. The 6 large metal deck chairs would have been more comfortable had cushions been provided. We used kitchen chairs to accommodate all 8 of us for meals on the deck. This house is very family-friendly and probably OK as-is for winter rental, but for summer guests, with no A/C, screens on windows and doors are essential. Despite issues, we had a wonderful time at a great price and thank you for your hospitality.
