Country House "La Barraca de Farena" near the Beach in Palafrugell

La Barraca de Farena is a cottage located in a natural environment, known as Farena, in the heart of the Costa Brava, 1 km from the village of Palafrugell and 1.5 km from the beaches of Llafranc, Calella and Tamariu.

It is open all year round and can accommodate up to four guests and two pets (on request).

The surface of the house is 60 m² house + 15 m² porch and has an extensive fully fenced private garden of 8,500 m².

For security reasons, the house is not rented to groups of young people under 25 years of age and the organization of parties is strictly forbidden.

The house has a kitchen-dining room, equipped with all appliances and conveniences, as well as a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.

The living room, in addition to TV, DVD player and free Wifi high-speed ideal for video calls or meetings, has a double sofa bed and a single sofa bed, a ceiling fan, pellet stove and an insertable fireplace, to cover the colder seasons of the year.

The bedroom has a large double bed, with the possibility of adding up to two cribs (on request) and a ceiling fan.

The bathroom has a shower tray with a sliding screen.

As for outdoor services, the house has garden furniture, table and chairs for four people, reclining sun loungers, a hammock and good outdoor lighting on all four sides and a storage room where you can store two bicycles that can also be rented in the same property or keep your own, an outdoor shower and a charcoal or gas barbecue, depending on the season (on request).

From the house, there is the possibility of being able to access the beaches on foot or by bicycle, through local trails and in them you can practice all kinds of water sports, rent paddleboards, kayaks, boats without qualifications and there are diving centers in all of them.

In addition, for lovers of open sea swimming and snorkeling, there are two aquatic lanes marked by buoys that operate from June to October.

Not far away, in kilometers, there are beautiful natural parks and protected areas, as well as dog-friendly beaches.

The local tourist office has an extensive website where you can find all kinds of services: typical restaurants with local and market cuisine, hiking and cycling routes, local shopping and a host of activities for all ages, depending on the time of year.

In Palafrugell, you can visit the House-Museum of the local writer Josep Pla, the Cork Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Sculpture of the Vila Casas Foundation and climb to the top of the modernist tower-deposit of the old cork factory Can Mario. In Calella, the botanical garden of Cap Roig and in Llafranc, the monumental complex of Sant Sebastià de la Guarda (in a magnificent enclave, almost 170 m above sea level) with the lighthouse, the Iberian archaeological site, the chapel dedicated to the saint and the old watchtower.
