Quaint and adorable beachfront cottage with a private beach. Enjoy beautiful sunrise walks and breathtaking sunsets along Lake Michigan's shoreline. Postcard view of the Chicago horizon. Activities include swimming, hiking, biking, volleyball, kayaking, body surfing, campfires, beach picnics, and other summer beach-time fun with friends and family. During the months of June, July and August bookings are by the week only. 3 night minimum stays are an option during those months if the week has not been booked 30 days out. Pet friendly and $135 pet fee.

The cottage is completely furnished with everything you need for a summer stay at the Indiana Dunes. Quiet community. The nearby Dunes State Park offers miles and miles of hiking and bike paths. A nature lovers paradise!

Perfect Stay!

We loved everything about our stay at Sandy Nook. It's location is perfect, the cottage is cozy and clean and Debbie is absolutely wonderful. Our stay was phenomenal, and we will definitely be back.

Host was so nice and easy to communicate with. The house is very clean and had everything you could need for a fun-filled beach weekend. Being right on the lake is great. There are great views from in the house and on the patio. The beach is beautiful and great for all types of water activities. I will definitely book again and would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic weekend getaway at the beach!

The cottage is so cute and well equipped. The beds are comfortable, there is a great gas grill and everything you could hope for at the beach. Thanks Deb for sharing your beach haven.

Wonderful stay! Very clean and cute cottage on a beautiful stretch of Lake Michigan. Location is ideal for enjoying the Indiana Dunes State Park, relaxing on the white sand beach and enjoying the local area!

Sisters’ Trip to IN Dunes

Owner was great to deal with. Cottage was very quaint, clean and well stocked, and beds were very comfortable. Lake view was great as were sunsets nightly.

The perfect place

Sandy nook has everything you could possibly want in a beach house from the kitchen with all of its pans and dishes to all of the toys and chairs for the beach. The beds were so comfortable! The view is beautiful. And Debra was a fantastic hostess! We would love to go back someday.

Wonderful Stay!

We absolutely loved our stay here! It is an amazing location with easy access to the beach and Debra couldn't have been more accommodating! We very much appreciated her hospitality! We were traveling with our 5 and 8 year olds and there were plenty of toys and other fun water activities. It was also nice to already have a table and chairs setup on the beach. 1000% recommend!

Cute cottage!

We stayed here for our grandsons 8th birthday. We had such a great time and the house is so cute and fully stocked. The beach has chairs and furniture, toys and a firepit. The view is absolutely amazing. Deb is so nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for a peaceful getaway.

Beautiful Cottage

Loved the location and the cottage. Close to the shore of Lake Michigan and great hostess. We were there with our two dogs, who enjoyed the beach and fresh water. The stairs to the beach were a bit steep, but with care getting to the beach was worth it (I've had an ankle injury recently that made walking a bit wobbly). The weather went from hot to cool and we were able to eat outside or inside.

deb is always very helpful and there when you need her. Everything is always clean sheets are crisp linens are fresh. It’s a slice of heaven. Never disappoints. We can’t wait to come back

Perfect Beach Getaway with access to Indiana Dunes

This was such a perfect place for our family (husband and I, our 3 year old and 1 year plus our dog!)! Can't beat the location - right on the beach and Debra had so many beach toys, chairs, umbrellas that we used! My 3 year old loved the toys! Beach was fabulous- away from the crowds we had our own little piece of paradise! We biked around Indiana Dunes and hiked some of the many trails at Indiana Dunes. Check-in and check-out was so slick and Debra was just a fabulous host- being flexible with us and very responsive to our questions. Beds were comfortable as well! It was the perfect place to stay - we can't wait to go back to our "little vacation house" as my son called it!

This is a piece of heaven, Deb and her husband the owners, are very private they live next-door. They’re there if you need anything. Parking is tight. There’s everything you could ask for. Beach toys, floats, kayaks, paddle-boards. Beach is private and quiet. very clean. no loud neighbors. we will definitely be back. Thank you for everything.

Wonderful

This was the perfect beach cottage for me, my husband and our nine year old granddaughter (who spent the majority of her waking hours in the lake). The cottage was very clean, well cared for and had everything needed to fully enjoy our stay both indoors and out. The view of the lake was absolutely amazing, the white sand beach was private and quiet. And yet, if was a short walk to the Indiana Dunes State Park. The owner, Deb, lives next door and was an outstanding hostess. She and her husband were very friendly and were there if we had questions or needed anything. It was truly a wonderful vacation and we hope to return next summer.

Beautiful beach views, cozy cottage

Had a wonderful stay for the 4th of July holiday. The beach cottage was the perfect size for our little family of four and a quick two night stay for my in-laws during our week long booking. We loved the beautiful view of the beach from the back patio and enjoyed many meals outdoors. The host was very informative and responded quickly to any of our questions. We also enjoyed all the beach and water toys provided. The weather was gorgeous and we experienced many days of calm waters which allowed us to do some paddle boarding. We were very lucky to watch the amazing fireworks show by Porter Beach. The hosts made sure we knew the event was happening so we wouldn't miss out. The property does not have a washer or dryer but Amazon was able to quickly deliver a portable washer that we were able to use to wash our swim wear and kids clothes then line dry. Overall, I really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Great location, but well water and waiver

We really enjoyed being basically on the water and a walk away from the State Park, but were put off by restrictive waiver we had to sign upon arrival (which required us to assume responsibility for ‘owner’s fault and negligence now or in the future’). Also, the cabin has well water, the taste of which even Brita filter couldn’t get rid of, so we had to buy jugs of water for drinking (although we cooked with tap water). Other than that the cabin is well stocked and close to everything.

The waiver is a standard form that vacation rentals use and we’ve been renting for over 18 years and never had any problems. We worked it out with these renters and they stayed and appeared to enjoy their time here at the beach.. Yes, we have a well, no city water in the dunes on the beach. Perfectly safe to drink and some people prefer it. But, we do furnish our renters with a complimentary container of ice and a gallon of purified water to start their stay.
