Welcome to your private vacation paradise!! This rare stunning 7 bedroom family home is on a deep water creek which also overlooks the ocean. The home sleeps 16 people making it the perfect gathering place for large families and groups of friends. Relax on the large wrap around porch furnished with Lowcountry wicker and a Pawley's Island Hammock. You can hear the ocean waves and experience the ocean breezes as you enjoy the creek and private dock. The spacious living room opens to the dining room and kitchen. The living room contains a full wet bar and ice maker. There is also a fireplace for the cooler months.
This expansive space all overlooks a beautiful deep water creek and marsh and then also the ocean. The porch runs the length of the house and is furnished with comfortable wicker. Whether you enjoy a cup of coffee or an evening cocktail, you will never want to leave this porch! Through large French doors, the dining room and well-stocked kitchen are ready to cook for you and your crowd. The master bedroom is downstairs with an en-suite bath and jacuzzi garden tub. French doors in the master open to the wonderful porch and hammock. There is plenty of space for families and kids to spread out in the upstairs second den/playroom, equipped with TV and a full size piano. Six additional bedrooms will surely accommodate you and your friends. A second bedroom (twins) with en-suite bath is located downstairs. Upstairs are 5 BR and 2 full baths. The full baths open onto the halls and are accessible to all. Inside two of the king bedrooms are each a half bath (toilet and sink) Upstairs bedrooms are laid out as one room with twins, three rooms with kings, and a bunk room with two sets of bunks. There is a large den/playroom upstairs with a piano and TV for everyone's enjoyment.
After a day on the water, the convenient half bath and two showers under the house make for convenient living. A kayak paddle up the creek or a 5 minute drive will take you to the ocean for swimming and some of the best shelling around. The house has bikes and kayaks for rent. Included for your use are both a gas and charcoal grill as well as an oyster steamer. There is a second full ref ridge and freezer for crowds.
This house is located in a private neighborhood gated community. Wonderful for biking and nature walks with family and friends. Note: there is a limit of four vehicles. There will also be a fine assessed if you do not follow the garbage policy. ALL GARBAGE TO BE BAGGED IN INDIVIDUAL TRASH BAGS AND NOT LEAKING. ALSO THIS IS A STRICT NO PET/NO PARTY PROPERTY

Special Week at the Beach

It was like spending a week at Grandmaā€™s big comfy house near the beach. Lots of room for all 15 of to sleep, eat and enjoy the huge screened- in porch overlooking the creek.

Beautiful stay at Edisto

We so enjoyed staying in your beautiful home. The view is so peaceful. The porch was a very popular place. Some in our family went on a guided fishing trip and had a great time and caught a lot of fish.We caught a couple of flounder from the dock, enjoyed the beach, cooked a lot of good food, and made some great memories with family, which was the best part.It felt like home when we entered the front door. The house was perfect for our large family!

This house is perfect for a larger group or family. We had plenty of space for everyone and the host was terrific to work with. The view off the back porch was our favorite and if you walk down to the dock you get a beautiful sunrise experience. We all agreed the house was perfect for our stay.

Peaceful Relaxing Getaway

My family had a lovely stay in this clean, quiet, peaceful home. It had everything we needed plus a lot of space. The island is gorgeous, unique rich with history. Kayaking to the beach was so fun and the neighbors were also very kind. The owner was extremely helpful and welcoming. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

great place for family vacation

This is a beautiful, large home with lots of space for the 16 members of our family. Close to the beach(we went every day!), Bi-Lo close for groceries, Edisto Baptist for Sunday Church, Charleston for the Tea plantation, Angel Oak and our great carriage ride. Our week was full and we had a blast. You will not be sorry when renting this house and the owner is very attentive and obliging.

The beauty of the marsh

Eight of us gathered from around the country to celebrate our cousin. This house was a true treasure. So many lovely spaces to gather and visit. The kitchen was roomy and well stocked, the beds comfortable and the porch overlooking the marsh was spectacular. We observed dolphins and birds galore and also launched kayaks from our dock. A wonderful week at Edisto

This was our first stay at Edisto and we loved the location and access to the creek/channel, the kayaks and bikes were a great addition as well. The house was great with plenty of room, the porch was our favorite spot in the evenings, the kitchen had everything we needed, if it were bigger and larger refrigerator would be helpful, but this would not deter us from staying here again, just a suggestion. Thank you for sharing your home with us and making our memories even more special.

Perfect house for large family!

Everything was perfect. Jim was an awesome host and had suggestions for activities and where to fish etc. We loved having the creek to kayak and fish in. The porch was super popular with all. The house had many bathrooms and we were never without a bathroom even with 15 people. Water system for house was also great. We will certainly be staying there again !

Great Thanksgiving Retreat!

This house was perfect for our familyā€™s Thanksgiving get-together. The front porch overlooking BOTH the creek and the ocean was a favorite gathering spot when it wasnā€™t too chilly. We had plenty of space and lovely accommodations. Jim Potter was readily available to answer any questions and offered great suggestions for enjoying the area. We all wanted to stay longer, but our schedules wouldnā€™t allow that this time. Hope we can do it again!

Relaxing Family Getaway

This property was perfect for our extended family vacation. It housed eleven comfortably and had space for all of us to hang out and play without feeling like we were on top of one another. The kitchen had everything we needed, right down to the citrus juicer which allowed us to make "real" lemonade with the grandkids. The porch was our favorite hangout, complete with a hammock and picnic table. We also enjoyed the creek and wildlife. The homeowner was fantastic!

Hallie is an amazing hostess. The kitchen was more than supplied for everything we could think of cooking. (From breakfast to supper to yummy deserts) Plenty of room for us all to be together or even take that needed break. Take a kayak to the beach. Fish off the dock or just stroll the neighborhood. Itā€™s absolutely worth every moment.

Edisto Beach trip

We absolutely loved this property and house!! It was perfect for us. Each adult couple had their own "master suite" and the teenagers had their own bedrooms. Everything we needed was available in the kitchen. The dining room table accommodated all 12 of us, which made for lovely family dinners around it. The screened in porch was "to die for!" We spent a lot of time on the porch visiting and reading. We would definitely rent this property again.

Fantastic House

Grandparents, kids and grandchildren were all comfortably able to stay in this home with its wonderful lay out. This house is perfect and had everything we needed. Beautiful views overlooking the marsh and the ocean. We spent our entire vacation on the expansive porch, having coffee in the mornings and happy hour in the evenings. The dock, the kayaks and the fishing in the creek were fabulous. Front beach is only a five minute drive. We will definitely be back. The hostess could not have been any nicer communicated with us on anything we had a question about. Checked on us during our stay. This is the place you want to rent hands down!!!

Perfect Retreat Location

Great home and location for a couples retreat. We had more than enough room for six couples and I was impressed with how many bathrooms this home had. The waterfront location with the dock was perfect for fishing and just putting your feet in the water. Most notably "The Porch" is the perfect spot for gathering, eating, relaxing, and enjoying sunrises and sunsets. Also being in a gated community has an inherent feeling of safety and seclusion. The homeowner was wonderful to work with - just a very nice person. She was easy to get a hold of, was very attentive to all of our needs, and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend this home!

A great place to relax and reconnect

The 12 of us had a wonderful weekend celebrating my Momā€™s 80th birthday. The house is perfect for a large family! Lots of bedrooms & bathrooms for everyone to spread out and have privacy. There are 2 living areas, a large dining table that seats 10 and another game table seats 4. The kitchen is fairly well equipped for cooking family meals. The screened porch looking out over the marsh and the ocean was a family favorite! We spent several hours each morning drinking coffee, talking, and taking in the view! Some of the kids fished off of the private dock. The beach was a short 5 minute drive away. (Note: You must have a car to get to the beach. Itā€™s too far to walk and 174 is too busy with traffic for a golf cart or bike ride there) This is an older family home in a quiet gated community off of the main road. It has a huge screened porch with lots of wicker chairs, a hammock, and a picnic table. The furnishings are dated but give a laid back, comfortable family feel. Itā€™s not a ā€œbeachā€ house per se but is very close to the beach, grocery store, shops & restaurants. If you are looking for a newer property with lots of amenities this may not be the rental for you. There was little to no wifi or cell signal at the house and only a few direct tv channels. Forget streaming! (this delighted the adults since it forced our teenagers to engage with us instead of their phones!) We played games, talked, read and relaxed. We plan on returning again!

A great place for family time

When adult kids live in far flung places, having the opportunity to get everyone together is priceless. This house is large enough to accommodate everyone! It is a comfortable family home with a porch you donā€™t want to leave. The kitchen is stocked well with everything you need to make fabulous meals. We had a great time fishing off the dock even though we didnā€™t catch anything to eat. No worries! Hallie is a wonderful host. She is very responsive and truly wants her guests to love this home and Edisto as much as she does! True Southern hospitality.

Our family of 40 somethingā€™s and 20 somethingā€™s thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here. The 20 minute kayak excursion to the beach was great. We strapped the chairs, umbrellas, and coolers to the kayaks and took off. The house was large, clean and comfortable and had all the necessities of a beach house with a great porch overlooking the marsh and the ocean. Hallie was a great host, even checking on us when bad weather was approaching one day. We would definitely vacation here again. Thanks for sharing, Hallie!

Although this house is on a creek, it is also ocean front. You can hear the soothing sounds of the ocean and enjoy a fabulous view without the headaches of crowds of tourists. A short kayak ride will take you to the beach. I guarantee you will love this special place.
