My home is a wonderful nest for anyome who is trying to get away for a peaceful rest. A walk on the stunning beaches of Montauk, and then home to jump into a very large jacuzzi,sits 6 and then to finish-off with a hot toddy in from of a most lovely fireplace. There are 2 acres in the back surrounded by tall trees and you barely notice that they are any neighbors as they are quiet and live there the whole year around. They are very accommodating. The beaches are just over a mile away and the town is about 3. It has many restaurants and bars open all year around and a good place if you want to revel the night away. My kitchen is fully equipped, there are large smart TV’s in the bedroom. There are many amusing games and a library which has some very good books. My home is full of art from many countries which if you’re interested are very diverse and most interesting.

Magical Wintry Setting

We truly had a wonderful three day stay at the Hither Hills property with its serene and lovely setting amid beautiful maintained grounds. The kitchen is top-notch, fully equipped the common area warm and inviting and through and through beyond comfortable. Of special note are the lovely grounds and fine taste with the house is appointed throughout. Thanks so much for hosting, us!

Deck was very dangerous, nails sticking up, rotting planks, all painted over to hide poor and dangerous condition. Also, no night lighting at hot tub. Interior was clean.

Deeply Disappointed — Double-Booked and Left Stranded

I booked this property six months in advance for a special birthday trip with friends. We confirmed with the host the day before arrival — only to show up and find the house already occupied by another group who had booked it for the entire month.The host eventually admitted it was double-booked and told us to “contact Vrbo,” offering no tru apology or solution. Vrbo support was unable to help us that evening due to time zone issues, leaving six women in our 20s stranded during peak season with no place to stay.We scrambled to find an emergency rental at a much higher cost and also incurred unexpected transportation expenses because we had to stay farther away.Vrbo did issue a refund for the original booking, but that doesn’t come close to covering the emotional stress, added costs, and disruption to our trip. I will be reaching out directly to support again to request a an additional refund to my card (not a credit) for coverage of our added transportation costs, and an explanation of how this happened — especially in light of Vrbo’s “Book with Confidence Guarantee.”This experience was incredibly disappointing and unsafe, and I hope Vrbo takes accountability and implements stronger safeguards to prevent this from happening to others.

Quiet setting

Home is nestled in deep woods but close to highway and beaches. The home is well equipped and furnished and bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious. There is a large back deck and in the fenced yard, a hot tub and hammock.

Beautiful Montauk

We did not have time to use all the amenities and there were many. Location was perfect for our very full weekend of family wedding events. Communication was great. Thank you, Montauk is incredibly beautiful.

A Lovely Stay

Our family was gathering for a wedding, and we and our adult kids so enjoyed our special time at this beautiful home in its scenic woodland setting. The deck at the back was the perfect spot for our family meals, and the hammock and tennis courts were a definite plus. The house is a cozy gathering place for a social occasion, and the beautiful art in the house adds to the enjoyment. A special thanks to our host.

Wonderful location but stops short there

The host was very communicative before we paid in full. Once at the house, communication was non-existent, and her housekeeper's number she listed on her Vrbo site was the wrong number, so no communication all around. Property location was wonderful, and the private beach and parking there terrific. House, however, was a mess, especially in the kitchen. It could have been much cleaner. Sink and faucet were dirty. Clearly the host lives there full time, but the freezer in the kitchen was so packed with her food, we could not even fit a bag of ice in there. BTW, old fridge, so no ice maker, just old fashioned ice cube trays. The fridge was also full of all of her food, so we could not find a place to put our own food, veggies and fruit. Bathroom on first floor had ants in the bathtub, so an exterminator should have been called before guests come. Hot tub was hot (102 degrees), we were told not to touch the temp, which we did not, but the water was a little dirty and only 1 out of 4+ jets worked. We were allowed to use the fireplace as long as we cleaned it afterwards, which we did 24 hours later so as not to create a fire. Only burned 1 duraflame log. We swept the fireplace clean and dumped the ashes. Beds were comfy. No tv stations. Anything you put on had to be paid for as far as on demand or premium, but hard to find a local station with her service. No tv in family room. We cleaned the house before leaving, and left it cleaner than on arrival. All the towels used were placed in one central location and we left all the bedding on the beds. 24 hours after departure, the host informed me that she was charging me $50 extra cleaning fee, because we left the house very dirty and her cleaning lady had to spend extra time cleaning. Mind you, my guests and myself are 60+ year old women who didn't make lunch or dinner in the house, and only ate oatmeal and yogurt and coffee for breakfast. I had to call Vrbo to dispute the extra cleaning charge, I was given a case number, and was told the charge would be reversed. Vrbo informed me that there is no such thing as an extra cleaning fee.

Quiet and clean Mother’s Day Weekend

Thank you Anne-Laure and keeper Jane, The rain threatened to ruin our Mother’s Day escape from the city but the lovey home and the hot tub saved it. We brought legos and our rain gear, visited the Childrens museum in Bridgehampton and enjoyed the quiet and the well equip home. Jane was quick to respond to any questions we had and it was an easy and nice stay.

Girls trip

We stayed at this beautiful property for the weekend to celebrate my friend turning 30. The house was beautiful, clean, and well-sized. The backyard area was so peaceful. And the private beach was beautiful. We enjoyed our time so much. Anne-Laure and Jane made everything so convenient and easy! Would definitely stay again.

Weekend getaway

The owner, Anne-Laure was immediately responsive and friendly in regards to this rental. The check in was a breeze! The location of the home was minutes away from ALL of the local hot spots. Neighbors were even friendly! We partook in the hot tub and the home in its entirety was exactly like the pictures. I must also add the kitchen was very well stocked as we cooked in it! The check out was just as easy a process and all in all, I couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay with a nicer host!! HIGHLY recommend!!

Girls Weekend

We had a wonderful stay at this house. The location was perfect as was the inside and outside of the home. We walked to the beach, played pickleball on the tennis court, and enjoyed the hot tub. There were 6 of us in the house and it was very spacious. The upstairs master suite where I stayed was amazing and the loft was perfect to use as an office to work remotely. I would definitely recommend this home and I hope to return to this house in the future.

Perfection in Montauk

We had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. We highly recommend Staying here if you are looking for a getaway in a gorgeous home in an exquisite setting. The Caretaker could not gave been more accommodating and the house was everything the listing promised it would be and more!!! Just perfect!

Least restful VRBO stay/Broken Carbon Monoxide Detector

We arrived on Christmas day to rest after a very stressful and tiring few weeks. Check in was an ease and the house was clean. We wanted to take a nap, but the minute we put our bags down, we heard the relentless chirping of the carbon monoxide detector. We could not fall asleep and it continued to chirp. So we called the property manager who told us to take out the battery and replace it. It was stuck on the ceiling and it was already late at night and my kids were exhausted; so on the second try I saw there was not way to take out the battery without taking if off the wall. So I took it down. We then had to leave early because of an illness in the family that consumed my attention for the coming weeks and I could not answer my emails. But when I emerged from the hospital, I found in my email that I was charged hundreds of dollars to fix the carbon monoxide detector that I took down, that was broken when we arrived; the property manager did not come to fix it, so I fixed it myself so my family could actually sleep. If I had not taken it down, we would not have slept the entire time. I have never taken anything down in another home I stayed. It was the least restful and most expensive get-away I ever had on VRBO.

Rebecca, there was no way for us to know that the batteries were going to fail - Secondly, instead of sliding the cover off, you pulled the whole unit off the ceiling leaving a remarkable hole where the unit had been attached.. Just to get the fact straight, I never made a complaint and YOU WERE NOT CHARGED..

Lovely secluded location

Very comfortable and charming home in a lovely section of Montauk. Were there during a snow storm, so not as much opportunity to make full use of the property. Anne-Laure was a respectful and responsive host!

Great Stay!

Everything about the property was really great! It was perfect for a getaway with all the things to make fun and feel at home. Just be careful in the winter as the roads and driveway can be a bit icy.

GREAT MONTAUK RETREAT!

This cozy home is located a few minutes from the private beach, nestled in a quiet natural setting. Great for an early morning jog, quiet walk, or reading a book in the hammock or on the porch! We vacationed with our children and grandchildren and the space was comfortable and beautifully decorated! Enough space for BBQ, cooking, playing and relaxing! Beds were super comfy which was important to us! Our check in was a breeze and Jane was just so helpful and available to help us with any need we had. Communication with owner was great. Overall wonderful time in Montauk.... would love to return😊👍

Wonderful stay! Beautiful house and the best private beach in Monatuk

We had a lovely stay at your house with 4 adults and two small children. The backyard is beautiful and we enjoyed BBQ'ing on the deck, the hot tub and relaxing in the hammock. Then our afternoons were spent on Hither Hill's private beach, you get a key to their private lot. In the evenings we could take our dog for a stroll on the beach, build fire pits on the sand, and enjoy the night.
