Muhlebach Family Retreat - A Luxury Mountain Getaway

Muhlebach Family Retreat is a luxurious and beautifully renovated family retreat; an amazing place to spend the summer with family and friends. The renovated 3800 sqft, 5 bedroom 5 bath, the perfect getaway for families and retreats. The gourmet kitchen and amazing great room can seat all of your guests. At the end of your day's adventure, you can soak in the hot tub among the stars or play pool with the crowd.

The main level is the great room offering striking features such as the 22 foot tall hand-picked river stone fireplace, and a 400 year old reclaimed redwood bar that seats 7. The kitchen offers a new beautiful Viking range top with a built-in griddle, and new Jenn-Air speed cook ovens. The cook's kitchen is fully stocked including dinnerware for 18. A quick stroll to the deck takes you to the 7 person hot tub for a relaxing night under the stars.

Walk down a flight of stairs and you have 4 spacious bedrooms with 500+ thread count Supima sheets. The master suite has a king bed, stone fireplace, a 2 person Jacuzzi tub and a deck heading out to the back. The guest suite is a perfect king room with slate and granite bathroom. The other 2 rooms share a bath with dual sinks. The one room has a queen bed and lounge chair. The 4th room has a queen bed and a twin over full bunk bed with a deck and backyard access.

Below the bedrooms, is 900 square feet of relaxation space and kids retreat. The family room has a pool table and 60' screen TV. The other room is a bunk room for 6 with an en-suite bath with dual sinks and tub over shower. Kids love their own cubbies in each bunk equipped with power and USB outlets. Walk out of the family room into the spacious wooded retreat where trees and green space abound.

The house has pretty great internet. There is a modern router with 400mbs internet connection. The WiFi coverage is good and we have modern streaming on all TV's.

During the summertime and holidays, we favor week long rentals that are Friday to Friday or Sunday to Sunday. Our policy is a maximum of 8 adults. Extra guests may be possible for an extra fee and contacting us first.

VRBO does not have options for complex booking rules. Here are our house booking rules. We do not allow Saturday check-in or check-out. Midweek bookings require a Friday and Saturday night stay except in the case of 4 days Monday - Thursday.

Winter Weather and Summer Smoke. Both of these things can happen in Tahoe. We are an owner renter here. If you are booking our property we expect you to stay there and not hound us for a refund because traveling became difficult. If you are worried about winter weather (It can easily snow 100" inches in a few days) or summer smoke issues buy travel insurance.

In 2025, Tahoe Donner has changed its Short Term Rental access to allow 6 people per house at a cost of $24 per person per day. Because of this and the size of our house...I am now not recommending this.
