Permit #211346. 100 yards to the beach! Sleeps 6 people + 4 children under age eight. Located on 16th Ave., between downtown Capitola and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, situated to take advantage of all the great attractions Santa Cruz area has to offer. 100 yard walk to Sunny Cove beach!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!
WALK to Starbucks, restaurants (Aloha Grill, Microbrewery, Lago Di Como, Taqueria, Windmill Cafe and more!) Sunday Farmers Market, Black Point Market Deli and some of the best beaches in Santa Cruz! Beautiful, upscale neighborhood.
BEACHES a short walking distance: The house has easy access to three popular beaches one of which, Sunny Cove Beach, is less than 100 yards from our front door. SUNNY COVE is known as the best boogie boarding beach in Santa Cruz!
Black's beach, Twin Lakes, Santa Maria's beach (19th Ave) and 21st Ave beach.
Crow's Nest restaurant @ The Harbor beach and Pleasure Pt beaches are less than a mile away. Slightly longer, but doable walk.

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and Downtown Capitola are both 3 miles away offering fun, food and shopping! Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor is less than a mile away offering kayak & paddle board rentals or dining at the Crow's Nest with Harbor views.
Nisene Marks State Park is a short 15 min drive and ideal for biking and hiking. Don't forget about the great Santa Cruz Mountain Wineries available for tours and tasting all year long.

This well laid out, 1500 sq ft single family home sleeps 6 adults and 4 children. This three bedroom* two bathroom beach house is located in a beautiful, quiet, upscale neighborhood and is ideal for a family vacation. Added features include an enclosed atrium complete with an indoor BBQ and a wet bar. The garage is always the center of activity with a pool table, foosball table, and a 22 ft. vintage shuffleboard table. The backyard has a hot and cold outdoor shower for getting the sand off after a day at the beach. Courtyard in front of the house is perfect for afternoon BBQ and cocktails.

*BEDROOM 3 / LIVINGROOM - queen size futon & full-size futon. Pocket doors convert this room into a third bedroom.

GAME ROOM/garage: vintage shuffleboard, billard/pool table, foosball
AMENITIES: Digital Cable HD TV, Netflix (available if you have an account), wireless internet access, DVD, CD music player, Phone, full laundry, charcoal, and gas BBQs, heated outdoor shower.
BABY & KIDS' items including high chair, pack n play, toys, puzzles, books, movies.
PARKING: Driveway fits two SUVs.
***NO animals* & NO smoking. No exceptions. Evidence of either will result in forfeit of deposit. *Owner has severe asthma and allergies.
***6 adults and 4 children (age 7 and under) max occupancy.
Quiet hours 10PM - 8AM. Please limit noise and music during these county regulated hours

Really enjoyed our stay here. Property has lots of wonderful inside and outside spaces. Walkable to beaches and restaurants. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

This house was very cozy and gave my adult kids a nostalgic feeling—it reminded them of visiting their grandparents’ home when they were younger.The house is much bigger than it appears in the pictures. There’s a living room area with two futon sofas and a total of five beds, which was perfect for our family of six. The space was roomy, and we never felt like we were on top of each other. Everyone had room to spread out and enjoy their own time.We loved the kitchen—it was well stocked with appliances and tools. A huge plus was that all the cabinets were labeled, making it easy to find everything. That was honestly one of the best features!The garage was a lot of fun, with a pool table, foosball table, and a shuffleboard table. My kids and husband spent a lot of time playing pool and had a great time.The location was also excellent. Everything was close by, and all the activities and restaurants we visited were only about 10–20 minutes away.Overall, this property is a perfect place for a getaway!

House was very clean, orderly and well stocked with dishes linens, etc. Carrie was very good communication, checked on us through the stay, and was super responsive. There were a few small items that could improve, but overall, a great place to hang when not at the beach. A nice little home steps from the beach, and a cool back story. A little bit of California history.

Perfect Family Stay in Santa Cruz

We had a wonderful Spring Break stay in Ansel's Getaway. The house is perfect for a family with kids. It is well stocked and clean. We enjoyed the game room everyday! The location is ideal and walking distance to many beaches, grocery and lovely farmers market. Carrie is a wonderful host and is very thoughtful and responsive. We would go there again.

Comfy home in a great location

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Ansel's Getaway over Christmas! The house is well-appointed with all the games you could want and a nice TV. Comfortable beds, a well-stocked kitchen with any item you might need for cooking as well. Our only suggestion would be to have a heating source in the garage/game room, as it can be quite chilly in there at night. Carrie is responsive and a gracious host. The location close to beaches, great restaurants and the wonderful Balefire Brewery. Overall we highly recommend staying at this property!

Perfect for our family

We loved it!! The location was great. We went to Capitola, Moss Landing, and Santa Cruz boardwalk. We had 5 adults and plenty of room. Don’t miss out on the farmers market every Sunday from 9 to 1:00. So many pastries, organic produce, and yummy food. Carrie was available to communicate with and very helpful. We hope to be back again.

Endless possibilities

House and location had something for every age range. Sand and toys were close for the 9yr old, Boardwalk and Starbucks for the teenagers, all the games (pool table, schuffle board, foozball for the adults (and kids). And for me at 77, a little time to just watch the ocean. We had a wonderful time.

The house was literally the most well appointed rental I have ever had. From the towels, coffee filters, first aid, games, etc etc. literally didnt have to pick up anything other than food to cook. Super clean and functional. Really well kept up.

Great Location

Loved the location! Loved everything about it, except for the beds were like sleeping on a sheet of plywood. Nothing a simple mattress topper couldn't fix, though. Owner is easy to work with, and even let us keep our car parked in the driveway after we checked so we could enjoy the beach for the day, which is a super short walk from the house! We will stay here again and again if the mattress's get comfortable tops on them.

Great Location and Fun Space

We had a great time at Ansel's Getaway! Pros: *Awesome location to walk to Sunny Cove and the Farmer's Market (plus Starbucks, Hawaiian Restaurant etc.) and quick drive to Boardwalk and downtown. *Giant picnic table out front for lovely al fresco meals with everyone at the same table. *Game room with pool, shuffle board (my favorite!) and foosball; and kids toys inside. *Fan in family room heavenly when the temps climbed. *Great TV to watch the Warriors clinch the NBA Finals! *Parking passes for 2 cars. Great for parking at the house and also at local beaches that require the same passes! Notes: *The kitchen and bathrooms appear to be original, i.e. not an updated home, which was fine with us, but just set your expectations there.... *More than one key to the house would be great b/c people may be doing different things and want access to lock up/enter the house separately, and the lock box is a b***h to open! *A table/tables in the game room would be great to set beverages!

besides Carrie being the most welcoming owner ever, there was so much to applaud about her home...Starbucks is literally next door - well 1 1/2 blocks away - but still the beauty of early mornings at the coast when its still dewey and you can stroll to get coffee is a perk...sundays there is a farmers market ACROSS THE STREET that has honey, kombucha, French pastries, Italian pastries, full coffee bar, fresh pasta and sauces, flowers, produce and the list goes on...you can either walk to two great beaches...one is secluded and cozy the other great for boogie boarding and sand games...the corner market has anything you could need from local vendors along with homemade Mexican delights...but the house...airy and homey...a sunroom you can drink that lovely morning coffee and eat your pastries...three full sized futons that fold out...two bedrooms tucked away for privacy...loved the pocket doors that gave an extra amount of privacy and kept sound out for sleepers...the kitchen has anything you'd need to cook away from home...large tvs that had all your apps you use at home to watch your shows...but the garage...lets dwell on the garage...a full sized bar quality old fashioned shuffleboard, a gorgeous pool table and foosball table...old radio on the wall for just enough music you can all sing to...open the garage door to watch the world go by and get that afternoon cross breeze you'll be longing for...if youre lucky you'll see the Capitola Fire Dept go by on their rounds and wave

Great place near the beach in Santa Cruz

We were here celebrating the 93rd birthday for my father-in-law. This place was very conveniently located and was a great place for his birthday dinner. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials and there was a perfect outdoor table for the eight of us. Highly recommend this place.

Family fun in Santa Cruz

Carrie was very easy to communicate with & the house was a perfect layout for grandparents down to the toddler. Fresh, clean, spacious; yet privacy available. Backyard was wonderful for play, atrium was sunny & bright and well equipped and the beach was perfect for sand play as well as boogie boarding. Three generations all had a super terrific time and no one wanted to leave!!

We Loved Ansel’s Getaway

We wished we could have stayed longer and taken full advantage of everything Ansel’s Hideaway had to offer. From the brightly colored Adirondack chairs in front, to the cheery sunroom, the pool table, fuse ball, shuffleboard in the garage, board games, high end TVs, a beach within walking distance, great WiFi, there was a good time to be had by everyone in our party. We will definitely stay there again.

We love Sunny Cove beach and the wonderful neighborhood! House is comfortably laid out, many conveniences and attractions close by. House's unique history appealed to us. Named after Ansel Adams as he was one of the friends of the original owner. The two friends worked at a local tannery (making camera cases of course!) and often smoked cigars in the basement. We like to think that Ansel's creative spirit still lives on in the home.
