FREE FIREWOOD supplied. Our heated, saline pool opens mid-May, but our Hot Tub is OPEN now! An amazing retreat in the woods, situated on 7 beautiful acres, but still only just 2 min from downtown Woodstock. Surrounded by mature trees and gently flowing stream, you will breathe deeply and relax. GREAT for kids: in addition to the heated pool -- open in season -- we have ping-pong, a basketball net, a doll's house with furniture!

You enter this stunning house and view its contemporary, modern style surrounded by windows, high ceilings and magnificent bluestone fireplace. The home is warm, inviting and thoughtfully furnished. It has 3BR, 3 baths, a fully stocked kitchen, fireplace, in-ground heated pool and hot tub, overlooking the stream!

The home is divided into two sections to allow for maximum privacy while still being able to socialize together. The North wing has a sun-drenched 2nd floor bedroom with a brand new queen bed and luxury mattress. There is a cozy living room + den and fully stocked kitchen with large farm table to gather around with friends. Adjacent is an additional seating area, bathed in sunlight from a row of windows, with a new couch that easily unfolds into a queen size bed.

In the South wing is a stunning space with 30' high ceilings contains a second seating/gathering area + a library. There is a mini ping pong table and sound system for added fun.

In this wing, there is an upstairs Master Bedroom and another guest bedroom downstairs. The master bedroom has a new king bed, luxury mattress and an en suite bath with a jetted tub. The downstairs guest bedroom has two twin beds which can be combined to be a queen size. There is a full bathroom off of this room. It features a private entrance leading to the pool, hot tub and garden.

You will never want to leave!

A spacious home with character and everything we needed. Deeply nested in the woods—quiet, beautiful, and great for hiking! Loved our stay. A couple miles from Woodstock, a quaint town with galleries, cafes, and good restaurants. Host Bill was amazing, responsive and so helpful. Highly recommended!!!

Amazing, large artist-type retreat. Great for our family getaway and being dog friendly is a huge plus for us. Minutes from Woodstock and not far from other attractions made for easy entertainment.We didn’t use the fireplace or pool, but did use the hot tub and it was great.All together, we really enjoyed our stay and Bill was great answering my questions and helping out when we needed it.

The house is as wonderful as the pictures. We came in early September while the weather is not hot but warm enough for the pool. House is very clean and plenty of towels for shower and pool use. This year because of the draught the stream was dried up. But other than that we really enjoyed the seclusion from the hustle and bustle of down town. No car noises and nearest neighbor is out of sight. At night it does get colder but not cold enough to need heat. House maintains a comfortable temperature without heat or air conditioning for early September. Ceiling fans drafting the clean cool air in from opened windows helped.

This spacious, well-furnished house provides an excellent and comfortable base from which to discover Woodstock and nearby towns and hiking spots. The house is located in a lovely quiet area that is a short drive from downtown Woodstock.The check-in process went smoothly, and the owner was responsive and communications with him were easy.

Relaxation and Pool time in a totally private setting

We loved this place! House was clean and comfortable. The pool was awesome, perfect temp, clean and totally relaxing. It was great to just sit out and enjoy the sounds of the stream. Bed was comfy and provided a great nights sleep. Bill was communicative and easy to deal with. 2 minutes from town.

Beautiful House, Great Amenities

The house is a beautiful example of mid century modern design in the vein of Wright's Usonian houses. The amenities are fantastic - we loved the heated pool!

Relaxing family get-together

This home was the perfect spot for our kids and grandkids to get together with us for a family weekend. The location is on a large parcel of land, only five minutes from Woodstock and all it has to offer. The house was spacious yet cozy and the kitchen was well-equipped. The adults enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub! We hope to return in the warmer weather to enjoy the pool!

The Most Wonderful Woodstock Getaway!

This Woodstock gem is a lovely and spacious getaway spot. We had plenty of room for two couples and our dogs to stay comfortably for multiple days. The house is very close to downtown Woodstock and has all of the amenities you could need. We particularly enjoyed the ping-pong table, fireplace, and hot tub. Additionally the host is responsive and cares about you having a comfortable stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location

The 3 bedrooms house is located on a small stream. We saw multiple deer around the property. The town is a short drive away with lots of shops. We spent the weekend relaxing in the hot tub and playing games. I would definitely recommend this place

Wonderful house secluded but near town

The house and property were great. Very comfortable house that felt like home with a well equipped kitchen, two living rooms, great beds, fireplace, and spa. Pool was closed since it was winter. The property is wooded and feels like being in your own private park but is only a few minutes from downtown. Highly recommended!

Absolutely Wonderful!

I cannot say enough about how wonderful not just the property but also the host was! The house and setting is just beautiful and full of character! The host does a wonderful job of ensuring the guests know what’s available to them in the house and provides a wonderful listing of restaurants and grocery stores in the area as well. I will definitely look to stay again in the future!

wonderful stay in Woodstock

This property is on beautiful stream, surrounded by trees with a large enclosed back yard. The pool (closed as it was April when we stayed) and the hot tub are great extras. The house is bright and laid out in two wings which was great for our group of six adults, as we could move into our own space when we wanted. The kitchen is small but well-equipped. The owner was very easy to communicate with. I loved that I could bring my dogs. The location was ideal- down a very quiet road and very close to town. We would definitely stay here again!

Ladies Weekend

Wonderful Woodstock

This is a great find. The home and property are beautiful. Was there during very cold days of winter and the hot tub worked like a charm- house was very warm too. There are house rules made known after you commit to your stay. The house rules overall are quite reasonable - especially since the house is in such great shape. But perhaps those rules should be shared with the customer before to avoid unnecessary anxiety. I would recommend renting this house without any hesitation. The location to the town - the distance from other neighbors and the quality of the property all…. A plus! Thanks

We are madly in love with our vacation home -- and, judging from our reviews, our guests love it too. Most of the time we live in Manhattan. After growing up in a suburb of Philly, Bill has spent his adult life in Manhattan, working in video production. Rita's story is more exotic: early childhood in India before arriving in 1970's Brooklyn to the same neighborhood through which John Travolta strides in the movie "Saturday Night Fever". Our daughter, Claire, is in graduate school.

We looked for a quite a while for a house in the region before finding Fern Hollow. You'll immediately see the natural unique beauty of the house when you look at the pictures. The place just has great 'bones' -- unique angles everywhere you look. After renting several houses in the area through VRBO we decided we'd like our own 'slice' of Woodstock, where we could enjoy a quiet setting that also offered tons to do, in all seasons. We hope you will come and share this fantastic area.

WE WORK HARD TO INSURE YOU HAVE A GREAT STAY. This is the place to come to for total relaxation: great after a day of skiing or hiking nearby. We're surrounded by woods and stream, with a hot tub, fire place and plush beds. The reclaimed wood beams and the local stones used for the floors and fireplaces were the first things that caught our eye. You can sit at the large dining table, along a row of large windows and watch your children frolic in the pool, surrounded by a lovely deck. And, incredibly, a wonderful stream runs along side the house. GREAT for kids: in addition to the heated pool, we have ping-pong, a basketball net, a doll's house with furnture!)
