Our 2 week getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We always enjoy our stay at this location. I would recommend improving the landscape in the front (appears unkept, overgrown, all around a mess). Large bush by the front door makes staying on the walkway difficult. Grass/weeds in side yard grow fast. Needs to be mowed weekly and not biweekly. I would also recommend blinds be added on bathroom window. Strainers in kitchen sink would be nice.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It is a wonderful place to relax. We love being able to walk the beach, ride the trails and explore the shops/museums. We will be back next winter! The Jekyll Island Real Estate staff are extremely helpful, friendly and easy to work with. The island is well maintained and is very clean! An extraordinary vacation all the way around.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was fantastic, the house is beautiful, clean and spacious. The only suggestions I would make would be to trim the plants around the path leading to the front door, as it was a bit overgrown and we had to duck around the bush the be able to get inside. Overall, though, it was amazing and I will likely stay in this property again!

Wonderful Georgia Tabby B - Home Away from Home!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Not our first time staying in Georgia Tabby B. This time, however, we rented for two weeks. We LOVE this home. We'd stay here ever single time we come to Jekyll Island. In fact, if we could, we'd buy this home. The SUN ROOM, we call it, is our favorite room in the entire house. We played board games, cards, watched the deer, and relaxed here. Our second favorite room is the tiny room between the Sun Room and the kitchen. We all sat in there and watched Shark Week during the night both weeks. It's so cozy and feels so homey. The bedrooms are great and each have their own bathrooms. The living room is a bit lacking in furniture. It could use a recliner or two, but we never spend much time in it anyway. We just can't say enough about this wonderful home and our entire rental experience with Jekyll Realty. Every single time it has been amazing. The location is perfect for us. The area is safe and clean. We were so close to the beach area and all activities we wanted to do such as the tours, Sea Turtle Rescue Center, historical areas, etc. Plug for the great restaurant, THE WHARF...close to it and it's the best place to eat on the island. Seriously, Georgia Tabby B and Jekyll Realty are the very best for vacation. You will love both.

Pleasant visit

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay and look forward to booking here again. The neighborhood is quiet, and the beach is about a 10-minute walk away. The house is spacious. There is plenty of space for games, TV watching, reading, and alone time. (There's a selection of games and puzzles to choose from.) We especially enjoyed the Jekyll room, where we watched deer in the back yard every afternoon. The queen beds and sofas/chairs were very comfortable. Appliances worked well. Having the full-sized washer/dryer was great. We very much appreciated having three full bathrooms too. The kitchen is a bit tight on storage, but it works well for a beach rental. There were enough plates, glassware, and silverware for a group. One note: The pans provided are in marginal shape, so consider bringing your own if you plan to cook.

Our family rented both sides of Georgia Tabby for a family reunion. Lots of room and close to the beach. We visited the historic district and played golf. A wonderful time was had by all.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The vacation experience was wonderful in regard to enjoying Jekyll Island. The rental service was also very responsive in regard to any needs we had during our stay, and the Jekyll Island realty staff was great to make sure our stay was satisfactory. I cannot say the same for the actual duplex unit itself. Although it was clean upon arrival it was quickly evident that the unit needed some Tender Loving Care (TLC). The grounds also needed serious care although I understand it was the start of the tree shedding Spring season so to speak. The following are items that my wife and I would like to share as I believe it would be beneficial for future renters, and prevent any potential issues. If we were a high maintenance couple and family, this would have been a severe disappointment. 1. The first night the back of the kitchen bar stool broke when I leaned back. 2. It appeared the refrigerator was not working properly as there was water on the floor underneath the unit. 3. The box springs in both bedrooms were touching the floor. 4. Both beds squeaked and could wake up a drunken sailor. 5. The pans were worn and the coating on the bottom of the frying pans had deteriorated and needed replacement. Anita was kind enough to bring a new smaller pan over but we still had to go to Target to buy an adequate size frying pan. 6. The screen doors in the Jekyll Room were not working properly and there was a hole in the main screen access door. 7. The grill needed to be replaced (which they did immediately) because the entire grill racks and inside were rusted through. 8. The furniture in the family/tv room was hilarious. Although we did not fall over it was a throwback to a different generation of comfort. I almost fell over on the rocker several times. 9. Shower heads were like needles hitting our body, but understand the water pressure and volume has to be taken into consideration. 10. The best part of the rental was the Jekyll Room. I just ran out of characters.

Relaxing Stay

The property was as depicted on the website and the property manager, Jekyll Realty, was excellent. The neighborhood was very quiet and the backyard was beautiful. The Jekyll room on the back of the house was pretty.

Unfortunately the furnace went out while we were there but Jekyll Realty had it repaired with 12 hours of our reporting the problem. Excellent location, less than mile to beach or golf course. Enjoyed our stay so we reserved Georgia Tabby B for April this year.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall it was good. The duplex was very spacious and nice. The only complaint was that the bed in one room was terrible (mattress and springs squeaked at slightest movement). Bed in the other room was adequate though both bedrooms could stand new mattress and springs. The fabric on couch and chairs showed signs of many years of grime buildup (basically looked like yard sale finds). Living room chairs were very dirty looking.As initially stated the duplex itself was nice and has great potential, but needs a furnishing update. We liked it, and was fine for our short stay, but would be hesitant to consider again especially if we had family with us.

December 2020 Stay/Christmas Week

Nice little house, very comfortable and plenty of room! We loved the enclosed Florida Room. This is where we celebrated Christmas morning and it was perfect! The biggest bonus is that the place is dog friendly! We got to celebrate Christmas with our fur babies and they loved the beach! There were plenty of dishes, utensils and cookware available. The only thing that would make the place a “5” would be a deep cleaning and fresh coat of paint. I spent our first morning deep cleaning all the windows in the Florida room, wiping down all counters, light fixtures were dirty (in need of light bulbs) and cleaning all the floors.
