Welcome to THE BITTERN LODGE, a premier, lodge-style retreat nestled in northwest Sunriver, Oregon, near the Benham and Dillon Falls trails. With over 5,000 sq. ft. of space, Bittern Lodge features EIGHT MASTER BEDROOMS (five king-sized beds and one queen) and TWO BUNK ROOMS with twin-over-double bunks. Each room has a private bathroom, TV, and DVD player, and several bathrooms feature soaker tubs. After a day of adventure, enjoy relaxing in your personal, spa-like retreat.



A GOURMET KITCHEN FIT FOR A CHEF



The GOURMET KITCHEN is equipped with DUAL OVENS, DISHWASHERS, REFRIGERATORS, AND ICE MAKERS, perfect for preparing meals for large groups. A 10-FT COUNTERTOP BAR and a 12-FT PINE DINING TABLE make gathering for meals easy and enjoyable. There's even a mini table for the kids!

The kitchen was truly fully stocked with everything needed to cook for a large group. The furniture and beds were comfortable, and we appreciated the location. The property backs up to protected forest and was quiet and beautiful.

A wonderful place for a family vacation!! The home nicely fit all 16 of us. The amenities offered were beyond expectations….so well stocked with even leftover containers to use. The only negatives were dirty floors and dusty blinds. We tried to always take our shoes off when in the house but always had to wash our feet before bed because our soles were so dirty. But none of this would keep us from wanting to come back. Highly recommend it!!

We are eager to return!

Our multi-generational family of nine, from ages 96 to 15, loved the site and accommodations. As a Grammy w/ four deserving teenagers, I wanted to gift them with their own rooms and private baths, which were greatly appreciated.The cousins who live in Oregon and Arizona, do not have opportunities to be together often, so they enjoyed as many amenities as they could. The passes to SHARC, pool, foosball, and ping-pong, the hot tub, the great selection of bikes in the garage, and trips to the village, the Lava Buttes, and river rafting. When we had a few little issues, property management showed up almost immediately and took care of everything. Wifi had stopped working, a refrigerator filter needed to be changed, and one tub had a slow drain. Everything was addressed that same day. The kitchen is superbly stocked. Additionally, The dining table seats 12 and the fireplace was beautiful, What a fabulous experience for all of us.

The pool table room was a hit as was the hot tub. Loved having 2 dishwashers for a group our size. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more! By far the best stocked kitchen at a vacation home we've seen. The host got back to us right away with any questions I had. We are already planning our next year family trip and hope Bittern 5 is available for us again!

Bitteren lodge

Well appointed house and kitchen. Plenty of pots, pans, various cooking appliances along with lots of coffee tea options. Lots of teen young adult items within e house. Loved the array of bikes. Pool passes were great, only used 4. There is an en suite bathroom in every room, so everyone had privacy. Did not use the hot tub, but noticed plenty of towels for the pool and hot tub.

Stunning giant home

This place is absolutely massive and gorgeous. The rooms are very comfortable and the living room and kitchen are a dream for large groups. One of the nicest rentals we’ve ever stayed at. Hot tub was clean. Lots of great recreation rooms in the house. Well stocked kitchen.

Perfect Hope for Extended Family

This house was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. There were comfortable accommodations for 5 siblings, their spouses, and their children! The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook all our meals without trouble. We would definitely return to this house next year but it’s already booked!

Beautiful Sunriver Home

Perfect house for a large group! Plenty of space and the pool table was a hit. Kitchen was well stocked and the dual dishwashers were super helpful! Beautiful living area that fit everyone comfortably. We will definitely be back.

Millers 2025 sunriver

This was one trip that will be talked about for years to come. We had a magical time staying here. The best line came from one of the grandkids.... "I don't want to go home!! I want to stay here forever!!". Thank you for sharing this greatly appointed and beautiful house.

Amazing property

This house was everything and then some! So much room for everyone! Had all the dishes for our Christmas meals too!!! Enjoyed it tremendously and will definitely return if we have a big group!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the second Thanksgiving our combined families have stayed the week at Bittern 5. We love the spacious home, how well it is appointed, thoughtful decorating, and the location. We appreciated the 'Welcome Back' gift and having the thermostats turned up to warm the home upon our arrival. Hats off to the on-site tech and electrical support staff following a power outage. This year however we found the cleanliness lacking, specifically: dog hair on carpets, rugs, and furniture; cobwebs throughout the home including bedrooms and bathrooms, the mantle and "canoe bears"; heavy dust on windowsills, ceiling fan, some floors, and walls; the bathroom rugs did not appear to have been washed recently. We did attempt to use the vacuum to tidy up some of the issues, but it was not functioning well enough to adequately clean the floors.You are wonderful hosts, and we would like to continue making this a family tradition over the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope you take this feedback in the spirit of guests who care and appreciate your beautiful home. -The MacSelf Families
