The house was most recently featured on HGTV's Beachfront Bargain Hunt as Ocean Dreams.

This BEAUTIFUL Old Nags Head style home is oceanfront, with uninterrupted views of the beach and ocean with an affordable price tag!

The Sea Urchin Inn is located in a quiet area of the Outer Banks, yet is still close to great local restaurants, shopping, and family attractions.

This comfy beachy cottage is the perfect beach getaway and has everything you need for a great family vacation. You and your family will enjoy the large, uncrowded, and family oriented beach.

Our spacious floor plan includes a living room, a bright and sunny kitchen and dining area with plenty of seating for the entire family.

Relax with your morning cup of coffee on the sun deck with your ocean view - enjoying the cool breeze and relaxing ocean sounds. Spend your days sunbathing or splashing around with the kids at the beach. Come back and let your stress drift away under the stars while listening to the ocean sounds. Enjoy cooking your meals out on our charcoal grill or preparing them in the well stocked kitchen...and if you don't feel like cooking you're just a few minutes away from the best restaurants the OBX has to offer!

The Sea Urchin Inn is located on a quaint and quiet street at MP 20.5, close to many fishing piers and Oregon Inlet.

Ground Level: Enclosed outside shower and charcoal grill

Bottom Level of Cottage: Second master bedroom with King bed, flat screen TV/Cable, sliding glass door opens to ocean. Bedroom with 2 Twin Bunks (4 total twin beds). Bedroom with one twin bed and one pyramid bunk (twin top/full size bottom), TV/Cable, sliding glass door opens to ocean. Full hall Bathroom with combination tub/shower. Laundry room with washer and dryer.

Top Level: Main King master bedroom with flat screen TV/Cable, in suite bathroom. Living room with flat screen TV/Cable and DVD player. Fully stocked large kitchen and dining area. Sliding glass doors open to top deck to ocean and beach.

Linens: Comforters, pillows, bath mats, and kitchen towels are provided. You provide your own linens (sheets, pillowcases, shower and beach towels) or they can be rented through a local company. Recommendations can be provided.

During Summer Season Turnover Day: Saturday (mid May to end of September).
Off season turnover can be arranged for any day.

3 Night minimum stay during non peak summer season.

VIEWS! VIEWS! VIEWS! Out every window except 1 back bedroom-even the laundry room! The only concern is the steep steps and banister with couch up against for small children-fear of falling either down steps or over back of couch. But if constantly aware/watching (we moved couch away so if kiddo went over back would just hit floor not down steps) it’s doable The house had such old charm and was just perfect. Open floor plan-kids doing puzzle on the table, sitting on the couch drinking cup coffee with the most GORGEOUS ocean soothing your cares away. Incredible sunrises. Incredible sunsets behind you! Hide tide literally came under the house. I seriously could move in forever!

Great Location

We had a wonderful time at The Sea Urchin! You can’t beat the location - it is right on the beach which we truly enjoyed. We were there with four adults and a baby. We had plenty of space for everyone. It was nice they had a high chair and a gate to block the stairway for the baby. We had a wonderful time and would love to stay there again. Thank you!

Beautiful home, we would see dolphins in the morning swimming by. One evening we saw a whale. All while sitting on the deck of the house.

We loved it!

We have stayed in Nags Head many times over the years. This is our favorite location yet. We fell asleep every night to the sound of the waves, and woke up every morning to dolphins swimming right in front of us. Elizabeth was very helpful. We will definitely be back!

Unforgettable Stay at a Fantastic Beach House!

Our stay at the Sea Urchin Inn was incredibly relaxing! The sound of waves crashing against the shore, the salty breeze, and the stunning ocean views made for the perfect family getaway. The house itself was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed a few lazy days on the beach, reading from the upper and lower decks, watching three amazing sunrises, and hunting for shells. Overall, it was a wonderful and rejuvenating experience!!

Our Annual Family Vacation

Didn't find the home to be very clean. Much evidence of dogs having stayed there previously. Owner was very responsive to needed repairs. Found kitchen to be very well equipped. Overall our family enjoyed the home and had a great time.

Right by the ocean

This house is located right on the ocean. If you choose, you can wake up as the sun slowly rises over the ocean. First, you'll see the horizon appear out of the darkness, then you'll be treated to the beauty of a sunrise, all from the comfort of a bed, again if you so choose. Everything else about the rental was fine, easy to eat, sleep, wake up, relax, and stay in this house. Memorable. Whalebone seafood nearby was excellent place to find what to cook in the well-equipped kitchen.

Beautiful Beach Vacation

Great place for the price, a few little things that the owners quickly responded to, like a broken coffee maker that they brought in a back up for, and deep sand covering the parking area (They told us where we could park one of our vehicles, but we had to work with the neighbors to use their parking when the 4-wheel drive went out on our truck). Totally worth every little quirk though! We loved being RIGHT ON THE BEACH! Great being there off season too with so little traffic and a nice quiet time with family in this spacious house.

Beautiful beach stay!

What a delightful beach house! I took my kids and family for spring break and, while too cold to enjoy the water and occasionally too windy to even go outside, we enjoyed the sight and sound of the ocean from every window!! There is a lot of sand and you have to walk through it after using the outdoor shower (which has hot water - nice surprise!!!), so I recommend keeping a bucket of water near the door to rinse your feet after a walk on the beach. Overall a really amazing experience. Thank you for sharing your house with us!

Spectacular location

We did not get to enjoy the beach as high winds made it impossible/painful to be on the beach. Blowing sand buried the first few steps to the house (and caused damage to our car). But once we got unpacked the panoramic views of the crashing waves, the pelicans navigating the winds and the constantly changing clouds awed and entertained us!

Needs TLC - we left a day early

The location is nice - easy access to lots of OBX sights and activities and right on the beach. Unfortunately, the place is very run down. Every lamp was broken in some way. The slip covers on the sofas don't fit and looked very "used". Painting doesn't seem to have been done in a long time - giant chips off of the woodwork. Fireplace didn't work. Dirty windows. Rusted metal accessories. Towel bars falling out of the wall. No wifi. The kitchen seems to have been updated somewhat, but overall the place was just not good. We left a day early.

great location and owners, house needs some love

We loved the location of the house and the owners were responsive to our concerns: we bought a hose to hose down the dogs and help with filling a water bucket as the outdoor shower requires a walk through the sand. The owners reimbursed us. We also bought some door hooks and hangers for the closets which they reimbursed us for. There were a number of other items that we provided direct feedback about to the owners that they said they would work on, most notably the safety concerns of the old deck, which had loose railings, protruding nails and some missing pieces that could lead to a serious accident. Less imperative items we let them know about include discomfort of the mattresses, needing to have light bulbs in the lamps, having lamps near outlets, having more outdoor furniture to actually enjoy the view and installing some sort of gate on the porch so dogs don't run off and away (my husband made one with rope that worked for our stay). With a little bit more love and care, this house has the potential for a five star review and I hope to see a review imminently that states the aforementioned concerns have been remedied, as promised by the owners.

Great view and location, but that's about it, expected better for the price.

Although the owners are very nice and were in touch with us during our stay due to other issues, I would personally not stay here again. Your home is only as clean as you keep it, or in this case, pay someone else to do it. Of course I vacuumed before we left even though my dog does not shed but I am sure no one would have noticed if I didn't. When I checked under the beds to make sure nothing was left behind. I found numerous wads of "dust bunnies", a band-aid a sock(not ours) and tissues. The beds were a joke, mattresses were awful, felt like I was sleeping in a hole and forget the conditions of the mattress pads,gross. My daughter spotted a shirt between the couch and the wall that someone left. The kitchen, yes, recently upgraded, but it wouldn't hurt to get a broom between the counter and the refrigerator once in awhile.These are all things I would expect the cleaning person to take care of and notice especially for the price we paid. I planned on cooking there, but could not bring myself to do it, so instead we had take out. They offer a grill, but you can get a better grill at your local park. So honestly, the view and location can't be beat, but I can't help but feel we were taken advantage of because this is all they have going for them. I am sure there are plenty of CLEAN houses that have the same,maybe even better, views and beach access. Maybe some vacationers don't mind some of these things, which may be why it is the way it is, but I do mind and expect a little better for the price, especially when you hire someone and expect them to keep your house in good shape.

The pictures do not do justice to the amazing views from this beachfront house. Check in was so easy; house was clean. Owner was very responsive via text. Excellent off-season getaway!

Satisfied Stay

we rented the property for the week of my son's wedding. Other than Tropical Storm Ian and the wind gusts is was a fantastic stay. It was very hard with the wind and sand to enter and exit to our vehicles. But otherwise it was very good.

Right on the Beach

We really enjoyed our week at the Sea Urchin. The house is literally on the beach. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped with pots and pans and we cooked in most nights, and rarely left the beach!! Thank you so much!

INCREDIBLE ocean front location and EXCELLENT customer care!

The ocean front location of this property and the care provided to us by Lucas and Elizabeth Munn (owners and rental agents) were fantastic! The property is older and is showing signs of the wear and tear: we had several major maintenance related issues but Lucas was easily accessible by phone (and email) and responsive to every need. A priority was placed on the repairs and ultimately they were done to our complete satisfaction. The views and access to the beach are unmatched: the neighbors (owners and renters both) were lovely to meet and share the (almost private!) beach with. It is challenging to keep the sandy environment outside of the home. It is also a pet friendly home.

My husband and I both grew up vacationing every year in the Outer Banks.

My family was the beach bum type. My mom has always been a lover of the beach so we spent every vacation on the beach as much as possible. From building sand castles, swimming, floating, boogie boarding, and having a nap on the beach...we knew how to relax! To this day my favorite thing to do is pack a picnic and eat lunch by the ocean. Seafood was always on the menu while at the beach so my dad would catch fish for us or go get us steamed crabs and shrimp!

My husbands family was more about the experience. They enjoyed visiting the aquarium, finding the best local restaurants, and playing putt putt. They knew how to find an adventure!

The two of us together are a pretty good mix of the two. We enjoy going and finding adventures but also love a good nap by the ocean.

The views out of every window are breathtaking. We love Nags Head. Here we really feel like we are away from it all - yet can still drive to everything within a few miles.
