Relax and enjoy the ocean waves and beautiful sands of Carolina Beach in this oceanfront, 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo with views of pool and ocean from deck that spans the living room and master bedroom. Complex includes two pools, private beach access just steps from the condo, outdoor showers and two covered parking spaces. Condo is equipped with air conditioning, washer/dryer, cable television, complimentary WIFI and full kitchen with stainless steel appliances (including dishwasher) newly stocked with everything you should need. Please note that we have a regular coffee maker as well as a single cup serve coffee maker so bring coffee supplies for whichever you prefer! There is a dining room table as well as a breakfast bar with additional seating. The living room has sliding glass doors leading to the deck and cable TV as well as a DVD player. There is a selection of books, board games, cards, magazines and DVDs in the living room for your enjoyment during your stay. On the deck you will find a storage seat with assorted beach toys inside for your use while you are here. The master bedroom has queen-size bed, private bath, cable TV on flat-screen television and sliding glass doors leading to the deck. Second bedroom has bunk beds, trundle bed and a flat screen television with Smart Blu-ray/DVD player which essentially converts the television into a smart TV. There is a second full bath in the hallway. NEW as of 2020 ā€“ new wood floors and fresh paint in main living area, stocked kitchen supplies and new queen size mattress in master bedroom!!

LOCATION, location, location: Walk or bike to several restaurants, ice cream shop, Carolina Lake, Wheels Fun Rentals, farmer's market and Carolina Beach Boardwalk, which has received many accolades since its renovation. You can view the weekly summer fireworks from the beach at the condo. Boardwalk has rides, amusements, shoppes, games, nightlife, Tony Silvagni surf school and the famous Brit's Donuts! Area attractions include several golf courses, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, fishing piers, charter boats, Carolina Beach State Park, Fort Fisher State Historic Site, Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, new greenway trail, yoga studios (yoga classes on the beach offered) and Mike Chappell park which has playground, tennis courts, skate park and playing fields. Just a short ride to the ferry to Southport, Old Baldy Lighthouse and the city of Wilmington. Wilmington offers museums, parks, restaurants, thriving arts and culture scene, theatres, the Riverwalk, Jungle Rapids, Arboretum/gardens and so much more. There are many area festivals throughout the year so check local websites!

We came for a weekend getaway to enjoy some of the Christmas events in the area. We hardly had to pack anything with full kitchen, linens included and lots of entertainment in the condo. It was so relaxing and Carolina Beach is beautiful during the holidays!!

Sand Pebbles

This was our third stay in Carolina Beach but our first at Sand Pebbles (and our first with Intracoastal). We picked it because our friends had already reserved a condo at Sand Pebbles, which was our priority. We were extremely satisfied with the smooth, quick check-in process (our place was even ready early, but we were still on the road). Twice during our stay, we had to reach out to Intracoastal: once because we locked ourselves out (oops!) and once because the unitā€™s laundry wasnā€™t working. In both cases, the response was timely and efficient, The condo itself was a bit dated (the couch and bed were not the most comfortable due to age and wear, there was a gash in one of the bathroom ceilings, one of the bathtub fixtures was half falling off).

Unfortunate Neglect

Iā€™ll just state the facts and leave my opinion out of the reviewā€¦4.5 hours in the car with 2 kids. Cold groceries picked up and ready to start our vacationā€¦1. Picked up the keys for an after hours arrival. Arrive to the condo around 8:30 PM. The key did not work. The emergency line did not work. After multiple tries to call the emergency line and waiting for 30 minutes I decided to try to call one of the real estate agents with the company to see if she could get a message to the property manager. She was actually wonderful to deal with and I did get a call fairly quickly. After an additional 30 minutes to an hour, the property manager showed up apologizing that we were given the wrong keys. She also gave me a free four topping large pizza coupon from Dominoā€™s as an apology. 2. We actually had two wonderful beach field days with other friends and made great memories.3. My oldest daughter, one of six children that played in the same sand and sat outside at the same spot and times ended up with bug bites all over her body. Not one of the other six adults or five children had any bites at all. She slept in a separate twin size bed. We ended up leaving a day early as I could not let my child sleep in a bed that had something in it. No definitive answer as to bedbugs or fleas.4. Emailed the information to intracoastal Realty with no response at this time. Still waiting and hoping for a call at the least.

Bed bugs plus poor costumer service

The beds had bed bugs! The costumer service was very poor being the fact that we had an emergency our first night (not a 911 emergency) where we wanted to contact somebody from the rental and we werenā€™t able and they never contact us back! I returnd parking passes and they say i didnā€™t later on (2 weeks later) somebody contacted me about the issue but im not stay there again.

Great location

The condo was in a great location. It was very easy to walk to the beach and there were plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The other guests on the property were quiet and that was very much appreciated. However, the master bedroom was so bright at night. Blackout curtains would be much appreciated. My husband and I considered switching rooms with our daughter because the second room was darker though not by much. We did end up hanging additional comforters to block the light. The carpets were filthy. The bathrooms needed another cleaning, too. There were two small 8in frying pans in the kitchen and nothing bigger and there were no baking sheets.

Great location & view but condo was not clean

The furniture in the living room & the carpet in both bedrooms are filthy. Bring your own pillows because the ones provided are flat, lumpy & dirty. None of the lamps in the living room worked, the tv in the 2nd bedroom didn't work, there was no lights in the 2nd bedroom & there's holes in the wall. The balcony wasn't cleaned, there was sand all over it (carpet on an outdoor balcony?) & the beach chairs & boogie boards were all rusted or broken. The guest bathroom shower drains super slow & has been for awhile by the looks of the mold line on the shower liner. The location & view of this condo is great but it needs some deep cleaning & updating.

Reviewer Comments: The location of the condo is about a 15 min walk to the boardwalk, which helps keeps the crowds down while still being close enough to everything. There are three restaurants across the street, and a gas station and farmers market a couple of blocks away. There is even a tiki bar on the pier less than a five-minute walk away. Everyone at the condo was respectfully quiet, which made the stay even better.The room itself wasn't bad. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, decent furniture, and a view of the ocean and pool from the balcony. The carpet and mattresses are a little stained/dirty, but the beds were comfortable. There is a TV in every room and even a washer/dryer. The only suggestions I would have are to have some kind of blackout curtains in the bedroom. Between the lights from the pool area and the early sunrise, the main bedroom has a lot of light coming into it. We ended up hanging all of the spare comforters over the curtain rods to try and make it more manageable to sleep in. The lock on the gate to get to the beach was kind of hard to use, but may have just had sand in it. It was usually left propped open by guests.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo location is the only good thing about this place. As we arrived, the place was VERY dirty. I had to scrub the showers, replace shower liners (due to so much mold). The furniture and carpet are very stained and need to be replaced.We covered them so we didn't have to sit on the furniture or walk on the carpet. Interacostal offered to have cleaners come out, but I had already cleaned it. The last night, there was a cockroach in the condo. I asked for some money back, they refunded me the cleaning fee of $80, WOW, thanks. I do not recommend this condo.

Nice vacation spot

Had a wonderful time in Carolina beach. The condo is located in the perfect area. Short walk to beach through private walkway. It is also about a 10-15 minute walk to boardwalk. There are restaurants across street and a gas station only a couple minutes walking distance away. Condo faces pool but you can still see ocean. It is on first level but you must still go up one flight. Had difficulty opening door upon arriving. One set of keys would not work and of course this was the one that I tried multiple times. At first, I thought I was at the wrong condo but finally used the other key. Upon entering we found a bag of used laundry which was pretty gross. I dragged this bag outside. The laundry company had left our clean linens outside and had not picked up the last occupants linens. I complained about this and the key issue the next morning. They promptly picked up dirty laundry and brought us a key that worked. I also had issues with the correct wifi password but they corrected this also. We really enjoyed our time here after the initial bumps. The only thing I would change are getting more comfortable furniture for living area, removing carpet in bedrooms. (They were badly stained) and recommend a deep cleaning. The high touch surfaces were clean but property needed to have deep cleaning every so often. I would also recommend room darkening window coverings in the main bedroom. It was difficult to sleep even during night due to flood lights shining in. Also it was very warm during the night. It really needs to have ceiling fans in bedrooms to make things more comfortable.

Wonderful 1st Visit to Carolina Beach :)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Intracoastal provided phenomenal service from making the reservation through our stay. We were provided a code for keyless check in and drove directly to the condo only to find the code would not work - it was approximately 5 PM. When I called, a pleasant gentleman answered and immediately dispatched someone to us with a key and check in packet (even though the office is only a short distance we'd have gladly driven) - within 5 minutes we were inside. We were unable to access internet due to incorrect/incomplete wi-fi information in the packet so called and a tech person was dispatched to come help us. This level of service was above and beyond!! The building is not new, but fairly well maintained for its age. Reserved parking space was nice, although the location was a bit of a challenge for parking a larger vehicle - we had that down to a science by the time we left! The unit is nicely located with view of the pool and limited ocean view, but proximity and access to the beach was great. Our 2 young adult and 2 teenage sons shared the 2nd bedroom and were comfortable but next time we'd probably opt for something a bit larger. The complex is within walking distance to the boardwalk shops and attractions, and we really enjoyed The Spot just across the road. Sand Pebbles A9 was definitely worth what we paid for the week for its location alone, and Intercoastal staff were awesome! Thanks for helping us make the boys' first visit to the ocean so fun and memorable!

We had a little confusion with the realty company checking us in but once we got over that it was a good stay. The living room furniture is probably next to be replaced and a full size couch would be great. Would definitely stay again. Thanks!

One of the better Sand Pebble units

Owner needs to know that all cooking utensils may need to be replaced. We had to buy a new pot and skillet because the ones in the unit were not usable. Other than that we enjoyed the unit.

Reviewer Comments: The only major disappointment with our stay this year was the fact that the swimming pools were closed due to COVID-19 I am sure, which we knew was possibility, however many of the condos and hotels surrounding ours had their pools open. I guess it is up to board members of each property? Otherwise it was another pleasant stay at Sand Pebbles A9 with Intracoastal Realty!

Highly disappointed in every way!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family & I arrived very late and went to bed right when we arrived to the condo. In the morning, my husband and I were very much looking forward to having coffee out on the balcony. I only packed K cups since the listing mentioned having a single serve and a drip coffee maker. When I prepared to make coffee, I found the single serve coffee maker to be full of mold! I was shocked. After having a closer look around, I was disappointed to find the condo in very poor condition. The kitchen was not "fully stocked with everything" we need. There were barely enough utensils for our family of 4 to have breakfast. The master bathroom shower head and shower curtain were moldy. There were long dark hairs on the tub/shower walls. The toilet smelled like urine. Both bath tubs are terribly stained. The master bedroom carpet is so dirty and stained, I did not want to walk on it barefoot. Many kitchen tiles are cracked and the living room furniture is old, stained and tired looking. The walls and the vent covers were full of dust bunnies. The water in the condo has a sulfuric, rotten egg smell, especially from the kitchen sink. I reported this to Intracoastal Realty but no one has responded in any way. The description of the property is deceptive and not at all what I expected. Very disappointed all around.

We encountered no deficiencies in this property. Made a couple of suggestions to property manager that will make property even better.
