Charming Capitola Home With Amazing Ocean View Deck - Walk To Town

Come visit Capitola and see why it is one of Sunset magazine's top ten beach towns. This quaint village is filled with delicious restaurants, wine bars, and great shops. Just park in your own spot in front of the house and walk minutes to town, the beach, or the wharf.There is something for everyone whether just relaxing or trying out the many water activities. Santa Cruz is an easy drive or bike ride and Carmel is less than an hour away. There are also Pickleball courts not far from the house
This charming Capitola home has an amazing 180 degree view from Depot Hill to Opal Cliffs. From both the house and the deck you can see the ocean, village , and wharf. The interior is freshly painted and re done with new furniture, super comfortable beds, and gas fireplace. The house is stocked with quality linens, towels, and kitchen items. Everything needed for the beach is also included - beach chairs , umbrella, toys, boogie boards and a foam surfboard.
If you want to eat in there is a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, microwave , and dishwasher. An eating area has a table for 6 with a built in leaf that can extend to 8. The private courtyard as you enter the house is a perfect place to BBQ.
The large sunny deck off the living room has a great view. Once you settle into the comfy patio furniture it's hard to leave. The view can also be enjoyed in front of the fireplace in the living room. Here there is also a flat screen TV
The bedroom in front has a queen bed with an ocean view. The next bedroom is set up like a den with a flat screen TV. There is a double pull out sofa The master bedroom has a king bed and a slider to the courtyard.
The house has two bathrooms. One has a shower and the second one is a tub/shower combination. if you would like to do laundry there is a full size washer and dryer.
This home has a great layout with the view as the focus. It's comfortable and filled with anything you might need. Just bring your clothes and be ready for the perfect vacation!

One month wasn’t enough. I got family staying for a 30th birthday. I got quiet time for myself. Favorite time of day was 4-6pm with the humming birds feed. Loved the fog early mornings and creeping back in overnight. Cheryl is a great hostess…readily available when needed. Thanks Cheryl….. Lonni

We love this home

Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, great view. Owner responds promptly to issues. If you need to work during your visit you may have to deal with poor internet service/outage as well as difficulty with cell service.

Lovely Capitola house

Great location, within walking to Capitola Beach and Village. Beautiful and relaxing deck. Comfy beds and a stocked kitchen for all your cooking needs. Super responsive host. Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely a Great location but needs updating

Overall the home has great views and within walking distance to the beach which is the main draw and reason to stay in capitola! The home itself has a unique feel, like being on an old boat (minus the rocking!) with tight hallways and narrow doors. The severely outdated bathroom with a walk-in shower is extremely small (like 22x22) so any adult will have a hard time using it. Home is listed as a 3 bedroom however it’s really a 2br with a den (curtain is used a wall in den). You have to walk through the small very dark den to get to the main bedroom. The main bedroom has a usable unrenovated bathroom with an extremely low sitting toilet. Folks with knee issues may have an issue with it. My issues with the home is that the washer dryer located in the master bedroom has a foul egg like odor likely due to sitting water in the discharge tube. Using a lower angle tube without ridges would prevent sitting water and eliminate the smell. Lastly the listing mentions “new furnishings” and this isn’t accurate most furnishings appear 10-20 years old. The main sofa makes extremely loud noises with any movement. The bedroom mattress sinks and nightstands/dressers show their age as do the linens. Overall the place serves its purpose of being in a Great location and close to the beach. Unit also comes with everything needed for the beach like chairs, umbrellas and towels etc.

Absolutely lovely!

Me, my wife, and our three kids stayed in this house for a month and had a vacation we will never forget! The location is perfect for a family and within biking distance of some of the best surf spots in the country. As for the house, this is probably the cleanest vacation home we've ever stayed in! The layout is excellent, tons of light coming through the many windows, and a two minute walk into town. We would stay here again in a heart beat! Don't miss this place if you're planning a trip to capitola!

Great place to stay

The location of the property and all that was available at the property was great! We had such a nice time relaxing. Beautiful view from inside and on the balcony. So private. Close to Capitola village . Walking distance to so many places. Washer and dryer a plus. Plenty of dishes, silverware and glasses. Dishwasher is so quiet. Nice to have your own lemon tree! We totally enjoyed our vacation at this property. Cheryl was very responsive to our questions.

Capitola Gem

Our family visits Capitola every year for Thanksgiving. This was our second year at this property. The home is clean and well stocked. The beds are comfortable. The location is within walking distance to the Village, which our kids love. We particularly loved the views from the deck and watched the sunrises and sunsets every day! Cheryl is a good communicator and responsive questions or concerns. We love this property and plan to definitely return

Great beach escape

Great location, close to beach and restaurants. Had many naps on the balcony with the sound of the ocean and seagulls lulling me to sleep. Wish the internet was stronger and faster especially on the patio. Wish we had brought an internet booster. Zelda’s and Brittania Arms were our favorite beach hangouts. Saddlebrook is a fantastic restaurant and our favorite. Namaste in Santa Cruz has incredible Indian food. The Palomar in SC had the best Mexican food. Cool when the sun n goes down. Enjoyed our stay.

Extended Capitola Stay

our entire family has been coming to Capatola for Thanksgiving week for many years. We usually rent six houses in the village. My husband and I decided to rent Seahorse cottage for the month of November. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Several friends visited us and our children and grandchildren arrived for Thanksgiving week. The weather was fantastic and we enjoyed many beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We absolutely loved sitting out on the deck. The house was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. The location was perfect. We enjoyed this cottage so much that we booked it again for next year!

Awesome! The place was just like the pictures. Such a beautiful view, short walk to beach, restaurants and shops. Also, convenient location - just a short drive to other beaches and day trips! The hosts were very responsive and easy to work with... even worked it out for us to extend our stay:) Highly recommend this rental!

The Seahorse Cottage was WONDERFUL!

This house exceeded our expectations. It provided everything we needed and MORE. From a fireplace to beach towels to a bbq to surf boards and even our own Meyer Lemon tree! The house was clean and felt safe. Thank you so much!

Home Away From Home

Family & Friends felt right at home at Seahorse Cottage. Very welcoming, comfortable, relaxing, entertaining, well equipped for just about anything you need. Gkids loved sleeping in den w/pulled curtain (like being in a tent). Close to so much: Capitola Village, SCruz Beach Boardwalk, Gayles's Bakery (yum!), Antiquing, SteamTrain, Wine Tasting, Hiking, Restaurants (walk distance), Nob Hill & Whole Fd Grocery and last but not least THE BEACH! Owners are great to work with. You can tell they love their Seahorse Cottage.

Perfect Place in Capitola

We were working for a month in Watsonville and rented this home. It was perfect for us! Beautiful views, easy walk into the village, easy walk to Gayle's! The fireplace heats the house when needed, open the doors in the late afternoon to cool it down a bit! Could not say enough wonderful things about this home!

Capitola Cozy

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect cottage in our favorite beach town. Up the hill enough for the peace and quiet we wanted and perfect views of the ocean and wharf and close enough to be able to walk into town several times a day to the beach, wonderful restaurants, and shopping. Cheryl and David were perfect hosts who made our stay even better than we expected. We hope to return next year.

What a view!

Amazing Home!

I spent a month in this wonderful home, and had the best time. The size was perfect for the 2 - 7 people we had during any given time. All the beds are comfortable, the furnishings are updated, and the kitchen and bathrooms were well-stocked. The best part of the house is the deck that overlooks the ocean and Capitola village. It is a large enough area to seat 8+ people, with comfy seating and an overhang that protects from the sun or moisture. Not only was the view spectacular, but you are within walking distance to the Village & beach (there are stairs two homes down). We also walked to the local favorite Gayle's almost every other day. Basically, you can park and not need your car EVER. The owner was a pleasure to work with, which is so important when you are making a one-month commitment. I am already planning a 2017 rental of this gem!

Perfect retreat!

The photos accurately depicted the property. The home was clean and well organized. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare complete meals. The bedrooms were very quiet and comfortable. We spent a lot of time sitting out on the deck and enjoying the hypnotizing view of the ocean. While I was unable to make phone calls w/ my phone, texting worked just fine. The owner replied to my texts in a timely and very helpful manner. Be sure to take walks to the cliffs to the left of the house to see early morning surfers and seals. Just two houses past the house, to the right, are very convenient steps down to restaurants, shops, and the beach, which get you there in only several minutes. It is so nice, after spending time on a possibly busy excursion with the streets filled with shoppers, to return to your retreat in such a short time and enjoy the solitude on the deck. Two different worlds! For our anniversary we celebrated a delicious, and well served meal, at Shadowbrook Restaurant. We had some great meals, and "perfect" margaritas, at Paradise Beach Grill. We drove north, just beyond Santa Cruz, to Davenport Beach to search for sea glass. Bring good walking shoes for that; it was one of the highlights of our excursions. I have never seen such gigantic sea foam blowing off the ocean, dancing along the beach-wow! I highly recommend a massage in Santa Cruz at Luma Yoga on Center Street. Ask for Gemma Depolo and you won't be disappointed. Thank-you to the owners for such attention to detail. I would stay longer next time and look forward to our return.

Thoroughly Enjoyable Stay

We enjoyed our month at this lovely home in Capitola so much so that we hope to return next year. It is centrally located, yet on a very quiet street, an easy walk to the water where there are several good restaurants to choose from. We also enjoyed the proximity to Pleasure Point, Nob Hill Grocery and Gayles famous bakery, all walkable. When we did choose to get in the car, it took less than an hour to get to Monterey, Carmel, 17 Mile Drive, Palo Alto and several wonderful state parks. Santa Cruz is just around the corner and there is no need to get on congested Hwy. 1 to get there. The house is very well equipped. The porch is a lovely place to read, have a glass of wine and watch the sunset. Even if the nights are cool there are blankets provided to wrap up in. There were just two of us staying the majority of the time so we each had our own bed and bath. When we did have two couples visiting all slept comfortably, the kitchen table expanded and the living room was plenty large for gathering. A problem with a small leak (due to torrential rain and high winds) was addressed promptly. In short, we loved our stay in this house and in Capitola!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The big plus for us was how we could enjoy our view from the inside of the house and from a large deck. We love sitting out looking over the village to the wharf. We also enjoy the courtyard and other outdoor spaces. We also love walking to town , the beach and Gayles Bakery. Having a private parking space and two permits is great.
