Yool Caanal offers simple, comfortable accommodations with fantastic views of Half Moon Bay. Each unit features long beachside terraces perfect for looking out over the bay and blue Caribbean waters.

The units consist of a well-equipped kitchen, a living and a dining area.

- The master bedroom is furnished with a king bed.
- The second bedroom with two single beds.

AC in bedrooms only. Yool Caanal 5 comes equipped with a TV monitor and DVD player for watching movies.

You will find excellent snorkeling just in front of your unit in Half Moon Bay.

The perfect beach getaway

The location was exactly as described. It was right on the beach, and private enough that we were able to avoid that resort feeling of overall busyness. Check in was smooth and easy. The property is located in a secured neighborhood, with local police nearby. Felt safe the entire time. We went during July, so it was brutally hot and humid, but the AC units worked great.There's also an abundance of local wildlife all around, so you'll get to see a lot of animals on land, and in the water. Snorkeling was amazing, and most of the time the visibility was great. The water is also quite shallow, and we were able to touch bottom as far as 100 feet from the shore.The only downside at all was not within the control of our hosts. The sargassum was incredibly thick. Most of the beach areas in the center of the bay were completely inaccessible. Luckily, this particular property is closer to one end of the bay, so they cleared us a path into the ocean every day. So while it was a nuisance, it didn't prevent us from being able to go out and snorkel.

Everything is as pictured and in good repair. Our property manager and cleaner were both very good. The one downside is that the internet is quite hopeless.

Gorgeous space

Great location, amazing views and water access. Check-in process was easy. Only complaint is that silverware and knives were nowhere to be found. Ended up eating yogurt with an ice cream scoop.

Amazing!

We loved our 9 day stay at Yool Caanal! Just as advertised. Daily cleaning was incredible. Valentina's attention to detail and the cleanliness of the unit was impressive. The beach out front was beautiful and the view from each room of the Caribbean was paradise. There is so much to do in the area. We loved snorkeling, swimming in the cenotes, the ocean and the Bio Reserve. Nearby, the Yal Ku Lagoon was amazing and filled with so many beautiful fish for snorkeling. Our advice would be to not take a tour to it, but walk down and just pay your entrance fee for the morning or afternoon...you can stay as long as you want! We recommend Karaoke night at Buena Vida also nearby. Our teenage boys thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Thank you for a wonderful accommodation and experience while we were there!

Beautiful and peaceful stay!

We had such a lovely time celebrating our wedding anniversary here in Akumal. The property is beautiful, private, and very peaceful. Bed was extremely comfortable, view of the ocean was beautiful, kitchen was well stocked and the concierge was very helpful in setting up additional activities for us.

Was magical to wake up with the wind blowing across the bed, the sound of the waves and the incredible view without lifting your head off the pillow. The wicker furniture in the living room was quite uncomfortable but other than that everything was perfect.

Top 5 vacations of my life. Would live here full-time in a heart beat. I dont recommend the Blue Caribe tours offered through Akumal Direct. We went to Chichen Itza and while the tour guide and destinations were great, we were stuck on a huge tour bus with 60 other people for 10 hours of a 14 hour day. It was exhausting. Also, we recommend adding an additional 1 hour to your travel time back to Cancun Airport. There is roadwork that has been going on for about 1 year and delayed our drive time from 1.5 hour to 2.5+ hours. We almost missed our flight. The driver booked through Akumal Direct was the only reason we made it. We will 100% be back to stay in unit 5 again. AMAZING...

Unit 4 and 5 review

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Yool Caanal before and were excited about coming back. Part of our stay was in Unit 4, which was mostly very nice; very clean and comfortable and good Wi-Fi. The refrigerator made a very loud humming noise when the compressor was running. The microwave made a loud humming noise while running. Other than early in the morning or in the very late afternoon, the balcony patio was pretty much unusable because the sun shine made it unbearably hot. An awning or umbrella would be helpful. Unit 5 has great views, but the Wi-Fi was spotty at best and not good if one planned to do some work there. The living room could use its own air conditioner as it get quite warm in there during the day. Maid service was wonderful for both units.

So peaceful very quite end of the beach. Basically the whole beach to yourself. We Were very lucky no sargassum issues. The condo building only has 5 units in it. Our unit was everything we needed. Great a/c in the bedrooms. The main living room area is not air conditioned but it wasn’t a problem for us. You are in Mexico you should expect it to be warm. We opened the window and got a breeze in the area.l and wereFeel. The centre Terrace was heavenly both into the day and the stars at night. The unit has a older deco style with a Mexican vibe. thing maybe a bit older but everything so clean. No doubt in you mind things are freshly laundered. The housekeeping was nice to have. our bed made everyday and bathroom and kitchen freshen up. The location, space, and view are unbelievable for the price point. It truly is everything we wanted in a Mexican vacation. There are two great restaurants la Lunita nice night out restaurant and La Buena Vida very easygoing feet in the sand bar and restaurant in very close walking distance. Also a mini convenience store close by. Akumal beachside town is a easy 15-20 min walk. There is a small spa hare krishna spa a few condos down in the way I had a relaxing massage so peaceful. I would return to Yool Caanal in a heartbeat.

Great place

One of the greatest views. A few steps and your in the ocean. Exactly what we were looking for. Only downfall is that there is only AC in the bedrooms. Which we knew going in. Open a window and a door and we had a good breeze. Highly recommend staying here.

Perfect location

Perfect location for our adventures! Close to many activities and restaurants. We stayed for 10 days and wandered around the are. It was bliss! The condo was well appointed and the people were very friendly. Highly recommend!

Cool Caanal Unit 5 - Fabulous!

Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in a variety of Yool Caanal units and we have truly loved them all and this year we had the very unexpected chance to stay in Unit 5. Unit 5 is very well appointed and is now, by far our favourite and that says a lot considering how much we have enjoyed this condo complex. We were in Xcalak when we discovered that due to Covid 19 the Canadian Government was recommending all travellers return home as soon as possible. We decided that we better head north and get closer to the Cancun Airport. We called Marcia with Akumal Direct and she graciously welcomed us back by making sure we had what we needed. Her service was as always -- FANTASTIC. We had not booked through Akumal Direct in two years as we have been travelling further south and inland in the Yucatan, yet she immediately welcomed us back and treated us like old friends. It was comforting to be back in Akumal and renting from Akumal Direct on Half Moon Bay in this beautiful condo while we scrambled to find a way home.

The most amazing vacation!

We walked into this unit and immediately got tears in our eyes. I've worked a few extra jobs for the past year to be able to afford this vacation, and it was beyond magical to call this place home for a week! I woke up every morning wanting to pinch myself because I could NOT get over the amazing view from every room of this unit. Not only is it large and set up in a wonderful layout, but the balcony is pure bliss, and the bay was serene. We pretty much had the entire inlet to ourselves every day, and the sargassum never even touched our part of the beach! We would see some rolling in, but, like magic, it all just washed inwards towards La Buena Vida and the middle of the bay. The kitchen was well-stocked and purified water is provided (although it's not refrigerated so we recommend packing your own water bottles, filling them and refrigerating them overnight.) :) Every single moment was appreciated here- from walking through the garden to lying in bed listening to the waves. We'd give this place 100 stars if we could! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful gem with us! We are hoping and praying to be back soon, but in the meantime, we'll be dreaming of the incomparable Yool Caanal! :)
