Clean, quiet, safe, /updates well maintained, upgraded, peaceful, beautiful condo with ocean view for sunsets, moonlights, and rainbows. Located on the gorgeous landscaped grounds of Kihei Akahi in the superior, sunniest, most quiet & secure building D, across the consistently best rated swimming beaches of Maui. The sandy-bottom Kamaole Beach I, II, & III are two skips from Kihei Akahi and are watched over by lifeguards and backed by picnic benches. To complement the pristine beaches you also have the two on-site, guest-only, secure, clean, swimming pools!

Literally cool unit, taking advantage of the tranquil trade winds for fresh air ventilation, supported by ceiling fans, and the pull-down sun shade on the lanai. Take your meals, coffee, or wine on the lanai, or just sit and enjoy reading a book with nature's calming soundtrack provided by the singing of the exotic birds flying through the lush, tropical foliage of the meticulously manicured Kihei Akahi gardens. Or if you are feeling energetic, capitalize on the free on-site tennis/pickleball court; or even head down and BBQ your favorite meat, fish, or vegetable on the updated outdoor propane gas grills - get a full list of Kihei Akahi amenities from the warm and friendly staff at the front office.

Perfect for two people (comfortable king size bed), who will find ample space in this desirable 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom home. Size: 723 sq ft, including the 68 sq ft lanai.

You can expect a very fast email response from us ( /contact owners) while booking your dream vacation. There is electronic key access, so you will not need to interact with anyone in person. We are also super responsive on email - try us! As you can see in the quote/payment, it includes an extra line item for a cleaning fee per stay. Our condo is cleaned and sanitized prior to every stay by a professional cleaning company on Maui. In addition, if for whatever reason you cannot reach us directly, the cleaning company can act as a backup local number to call. Contact details for all are provided after booking.

We loved the spectacular sunset views from the patio! We enjoyed many beach walks and were able to walk to many restaurants. The unit was well equipped with lots of beach ‘stuff’ and everything else we needed. We would definitely come back!!

Best Rental

The place was absolutely stunning. I was amazed by the abundance of amenities available. My partner and I had a blast riding the waves on the best boogie boards and woke up at 6 a.m. three times to swim with the turtles. We never needed to rent anything from the local shops. The beach towels were excellent. If you're a beach lover, this place will be perfect for you. My partner and I had a hard time saying goodbye. It was incredibly comfortable and surreal. We didn't feed the birds, as they can become annoying despite being cute, but I should mention a cardinal jumped on my finger to say good morning before flying away. This place is fantastic. Just hit the confirmation button and enjoy this special spot. Thanks a million to the host for this amazing experience.

Perfect, clean, all-inclusive, and close to the beach

This unit comes with everything you need to enjoy your stay in Hawaii, from soap to shampoo, to kitchen supplies, towels, beach towels, cooler, snorkelling gear, free postcards, and the list goes on. Daniel was a super host and very responsive by email. He even provided detailed snorkelling recommendations for us, since our turtle snorkelling tour got cancelled twice due to the waves and my wife is pregnant, so we couldn't sign up for certain tours. Daniel really cared about making sure we had the best experience even outside of the unit. This location is close to everything you need, including tonnes of beaches, restaurants, grocery stores, food trucks, etc. You could spend time by the pools or sit out on the balcony with the perfect view, if you didnt' want to go out. Everything is super safe here. The building pretty much has 24/7 security. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend Daniel and his unit to everybody!

Wonderful Stay

This property was wonderful. Nicely updated with a ocean view. The kitchen is well stocked with lots of cooking supplies. We also really liked the beach gear provided for use. Beach chairs, towels, snorkeling gear, umbrella, and a cooler. These items really came in handy. The condo was very clean and well organized. The owner, Daniel, was easily accessible and made sure to check in on us to ensure everything was to our liking. We will definitely be staying here again.

Great location & amenities!

The apartment was exactly as advertised in the pictures! Check-in was seamless with clear instructions given prior. Daniel was very helpful in providing reminders and answers any questions very promptly. He managed to work with our check-in and check-out timings. The balcony has a nice view of the beach/ocean! The apartment was really well stocked with all your water/beach needs (think snorkel gear of diff sizes, beach chairs, cooler and mats etc). All this alongside a fully functioning kitchen with lots of extra equipment (coffee maker, blender etc) and guide books. The condo itself is located along a great stretch with lots of food & supermarkets within walking distance. More importantly, it's safe. We saw consistent night patrols, and everyone adheres to a communal understanding of peace after 10-11pm. 10/10 would recommend

A quiet piece of paradise!

Our stay at Kihei Akahi D-211 for Christmas & New Years 2018/19 was amazing. Daniel was great at checking in on us via email to be sure we had everything we needed to make our vacation a delight. The unit is far enough from S. Kihei road that we didn't hear traffic besides the occasional horn honk yet close enough to pack up and walk down to the beach. It was very tidy and had everything we needed to prepare meals, go to the beach, or just relax on the lanai and watch the whales breaching with binoculars Daniel supplied. We have stayed at many different complexes in Maui and we typically see bugs in the unit however we did not see a single bug in Daniel's unit which was a huge plus! Until next time Mahalo - Gene

Updated condo, great location, nice ocean view, very nice owners

I chose this condo based on the reviews, photos and location but mainly for how the owners presented themselves. This was my island home for 14 nights and it was perfect for my intention of living as much like a local as possible. The kitchen was very well-equipped with a vast array of appliances, cookware, etc.; all you needed was the food. I prepared more meals here than I do at home. Although the condo is conveniently located for traveling to the usual tourist sights and activities, if you want to kick back and relax, this is the perfect place. The complex has two conveniently located pools with grilling areas in each. My unit overlooked the upper pool/grilling area and it was a very popular area. Kudos for the maintenance staff. I awoke early every morning and they were exuberantly and meticulously cleaning the grills, pool and the surrounding area. Daniel and Jenny are very proactive and concerned owners. There was open communication before and during my stay. Any issues you may have are addressed immediately. I realize that this condo is not only their island home but also a business venture. However, they are sincerely caring about their guests having a great time and will do what it takes to make it happen. I highly recommend this condo to anyone wanting to stay in Kihei.

Super clean & comfortable, a fantastic location!

We've been to Maui (Kihei) several times and always enjoy our time. Kihei Akahi is perfectly located, right across the street from Kam II Beach Park and a short walk to several decent food & drink establishments - and of course a coffee stand! We arrived late evening and the directions that the owners provided us directed us right to the property, the parking spot, and the unit without any confusion. Daniel was very attentive (but not too attentive) to make sure we found everything immaculate and to our liking. It is clear that they care about their home here and want their guests to have everything they need. Though we didn't use the pool much or the poolside BBQs, we saw the staff there each morning to scour everything down and get things prepared for the guests to enjoy. The grounds were very well maintained. We also enjoyed running from the property into Wailea and along the beach path there. Early mornings are the best as this is a very popular route!

Attention to detail defines this Condo in Kihei

Daniel pays close attention to the needs and wants of his guests and takes suggestions and feedback seriously. Of our 10 plus trips to Hawaii, Daniel has been the most accessible host we have had. The condo is well appointed and maintained with almost everything you can think of to make your holiday fun and comfortable. Beach chairs and umbrella, snorkel gear, a well equipped kitchen and more. Things like condiments are not required to be disposed of on checkout, so have a look at what is there before hitting the grocery store. Many of the day to day items you might need, including foil and plastic wrap may already be there, saving you more money for fun in paradise! And less waste in the landfill is a big bonus on an island! Mahalo Daniel for another wonderful stay at your island home!

Fabulous place to stay!!!!

The condo is welcoming...clean, well stocked and so close to the beach! Daniel is a host that really wants you to enjoy and embrace all that Maui has to offer and he is always available if there is any problem at all. I would recommend this condo and when you get there....ENJOY!!!!

Lovely, convenient location, great value

My husband and I generally spend our time in Maui in Kaanapali, but wanted to spend some time in southwest Maui. We are so glad that we did because of the multiple beautiful long sand beaches and many great snorkeling locations. This condo is located just across the street from Kamaole Beach Park II which is a picture perfect beach with a nice reef for snorkeling, restroom facilities and a shower to rinse off the sand. There are some trees that provide morning shade. It's also close to great places to eat and shopping within walking distance. The condo itself is a spacious one bedroom overlooking a pool and has nice ocean views. The condo complex of buildings has lovely grounds with 2 pool areas (one with wifi), a botanical walk, and tennis courts. The unit was immaculately clean when we arrived and we were extremely impressed with the comfortable furniture, and supplies for recreation. There were beach chairs, boogey boards, tennis rackets, plenty of towels for the beach and for the bathroom, a comfortable bed with ample pillows. The kitchen has every appliance and plenty of pots and pans and supplies for food storage. It would be possible to fix a large meal including dessert without any problem. The building was was well-built and maintained and the rooms were quiet. We did not hear people walking above us or in the unit next to us. Despite the fact that the bedroom fronts on a walkway and parking, it was very quiet as well. There is a small in-window air conditioner for the living area which we did not need to use despite it being in the high 80's during our visit because we pulled the drapes in the very hot part of the afternoon and otherwise opened all the windows to the trade winds. We would definitely return!

Amazing time

My husband and I visited Maui for our honeymoon and we had an awesome time! We love Maui and I highly recommend staying in Kihei or even staying at Daniel's condo. The condo is centrally located in Kihei with a couple restaurants and beaches within walking distance. The staff was also very friendly and helpful on the property. The condo was perfect size for two people, I don't recommend more than two, it might be a little crowded. Everything was nice at the condo. I liked that beach towels, two beach chairs, a small cooler, snorkel gear and other beach accessories were available to use. Daniel was very helpful though the whole planning for this trip. He answered all my questions very fast, mostly within the same day. Daniel also gave us recommendations that were going on locally that week or things Maui was known for. I also liked that the condo wasn't really far from the airport, about 35-45 min. We will definitely be back to visit! Thank you so much Daniel! You were an excellent host!

Nice upgrades

I have stayed in this building a few times over the years, and this particular unit had some nice updates. Folks in property management office were nice, and helpful, except for the older guy in the office who is a manager. Saw him outside the office and asked him a question, didn't seem like he wanted to deal with me. On a positive note Daniel, the owner, is very responsive and helpful. Definitely would stay there again.

Amazing Condo and Vacation

This was easily one of the best experiences I have had renting a condo. The condo was perfectly located in Kihei close to the best beaches and restaurants. It was fully stocked with all the essential items that we needed and was much better than other places that I have stayed. Daniel was great at keeping in touch with fun suggestions and responded to any questions we had immediately. I couldn't recommend this condo more and would definitely stay here again!

A great choice for your Maui vacation

We have stayed at many different condos in Kihei and this one is by far our favorite and is one that we would book again for our next trip! Right from the start, Daniel was very responsive to emails and any questions we had were replied to very quickly. During our stay, he sent us a few emails with some ideas of things to see or do, and even though we have visited Kihei a number of times, it was nice to know he was thinking of us and wanted us to enjoy our stay. The kitchen is well appointed with efficient trouble free appliances. The internet is the fastest we have ever had at a rental condo or hotel. As I need to work while on holidays, this meant more time for beach and less time working. Speaking of beach, the Tommy Bahama chairs and umbrella along with a couple of boogie boards were great to have use of. We had our own snorkel gear, but there is some provided if you don't. You don't have a panoramic ocean view, but we were treated to a whale slapping it's tail at sunset one of the evenings in clear view from our Lanai. We spent a great deal of time there for meals or just the watching the sunset. It is was clear from the start that Daniel wants his guests to enjoy themselves and feel at home away from home. We stayed for 3 weeks+ and the condo had everything we needed for our stay. The only reason I would have for not recommending this condo is that you might book it before I get a chance to for my next visit! And you will recommend it to your friends and so on. Thank you Daniel for sharing your wonderful home in paradise with us!

Great Kihei Location Directly Across from the Beach

We just got back from our second stay at D211 and absolutely loved it, again! The renovation that Daniel and Jenny have done is incredible, with brand new stainless steel appliances, granite counters, beautiful tile flooring, and nice comfortable furniture. The view from the lanai offers beautiful sunsets with gorgeous garden and water views. For those unfamiliar with the area, Kihei Akahi is a short walking distance from shops, great restaurants, coffee, and amazing gelato! Daniel and Jenny are great to deal with, always responding to emails in a timely fashion and doing anything and everything they can to make sure that their guests' stay is perfect. Highly recommend this condo! We just got back and are looking forward to our stay in 2018.

Kihei Retreat was fabulous and perfect!

First time using VRBO and the bar has been set high! Owners provided every detail including pre-arrival, arrival, post arrival and then departure information. All was perfect and every detail articualted in the description and photos. Would definitely stay again but next time extend our stay!!!

Great condo, perfect location, fantastic hosts!

We loved everything about this rental! The owners were incredibly responsive and really cared about making our Maui experience a great one! The location was quiet and yet steps from beautiful Kamaole 2 Beach. The condo was updated, well stocked, super clean and had a beautiful view from the balcony which we enjoyed in the mornings and at sunset. We used the bbqs by the pool every night and met other family members for suppers by the pool which was really handy for our group staying at Kihei Akahi. We love this location due to its close proximity to the most beautiful beaches, as well as easy walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, etc. Kihei Akahi has been our choice for our last three trips to Maui, and Daniel's condo will be our go-to for future trips!

Wonderful condo, location convenient to beaches, extremely responsive owner.

First, the condo owner is amazingly prompt and diligent with e-mail responses to any questions. They genuinely want you to have the best experience. The condo has been fully updated with a gas s.s. range, s.s. fridge with ice dispenser, dishwasher, and all the appliances and utensils to make any meal you could make at home. A comfortable king size bed, lots of linens and towels, beach towels, beach and snorkelling equipment. A small view of the ocean and daily sunsets from the lanai. Dedicated free parking stall. The complex has two very clean pools and 4 BBQs. A two minute walk to easily swimable beaches and snorkelling, food outlets and shops. Met and exceeded all of our expectations. We will return.

Daniel and Jenny have known each other since 1993. They've lived in various European countries before emigrating to Seattle (WA) where they've been living since 2008. Daniel works at Microsoft, and Jenny is also a software developer. They have visited all the Hawaiian islands and fell in love with Maui, and specifically Kihei.

Kihei is the driest, sunniest of all of Maui, and it has the best underwater world with many dive/snorkeling sites including Molokini - a short trip from Kihei Boat Ramp. It is also very walk-able, and when you choose to drive you can find car parking easily (unlike other places on the island...).

We try to visit the island twice a year for 2-4 weeks each time, boogie boarding in Kamaole Beach III, snorkeling between Kamaole Beach I and II, and sometimes walking further south to Keawakapu Beach or driving to Big Beach. We try to eat all our meals on the lanai, watch the sunset every single day, and stroll up and down S Kihei Rd after a game of tennis/pickleball or other activity...

Proximity to beach, ocean view, minimum noise, safety, privacy, affordable first-class lifestyle.

When choosing our Kihei condo the most important criteria was that it had to be somewhere across from Kamaole Beach I, II, or III - there is little point in travelling all the way to Maui and not be able to walk a few steps and be on one of the Top 5 beaches in Maui. Second criterion was Ocean View even from inside the unit - if you are going to be so close to the sea, why not be able to see it!

Then for units that met those criteria, there were factors that eliminated some of them. For example, ground floor units, because of the reduced privacy and safety, plus bugs can sometimes be an issue, so we wanted a higher floor. We also eliminated units that were directly on Kihei Rd, because the traffic noise seems to get trapped in those units, we wanted a quiet place. Finally, another feature of Kihei Akahi is that it has solid concrete walls and construction, whose benefits include better noise insulation from neighbors, and better temperature characteristics. Its two swimming pools, nicely manicured grounds, tennis/pickleball court, and outside grills for BBQing were all bonus features!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Kihei Akahi units in the D building have nice breezes flowing through when you leave open the entrance door (East) and the lanai door (West) - our lockable steel-screen secondary front door facilitates that. Also the two ceiling fans in the unit help with air flow. Our condo has been very well maintained, very clean, and has had various upgrades. Unlike other condos in the building it doesn't have the popcorn ceilings that trap dirt, it doesn't have the older style louvered windows that accumulate grime, and it doesn't have carpets to capture dust/moisture. It also has aesthetically pleasing and functional furniture throughout that we love! Checkout the photos.
