The apartment BEATRICE is a smart and unexpensive simple apartment that features a private outdoor area located inside the the Walls of Lucca, along VIA ELISA. The apartment is positioned on the ground floor of the Palazzo Froussard, named after Jean-Baptiste Froussard, who served as Secretary of State and Cabinet under the Baciocchi government during the Napoleonic Principality of Lucca. A particular feature is the private garden furnished with table, chairs and a sofa, a grand living area with fully equipped kitchen, a laundry room with washing machine, iron and board, a bathroom with a built shower, a bedroom with a king size bed. The apartment comes with a very reliable wifi internet connection provided by the national phone company.Later check in, up to midnight, are possible with a little surcharge of 50 euros to pay in cash upon the arrival . After midnight is required a fee of 100 euros.

LAYOUT: the apartment is situated on the ground floor. Entrance; bathroom (shower); master bedroom; closet with washing machine; fully equipped kitchen/dining room and sitting area. Garden accessible from the main loggia.

Lovely haven in Lucca

Lovely quirky apartment in a great location, with a little cafe/bar on the doorstep, perfect for breakfast. It is very quiet and peaceful yet everything you need is close by. The garden is a wonderful addition to the space and the ideal spot to enjoy at any time of the day. The owner is very friendly and kind and nearby if you need anything, without being obtrusive. A little haven for anyone looking to discover the delights of Lucca. The only downside is that it is a little dark, but equally this keeps it lovely and cool so no need for aircon.

Old World Charm

We were excited to stay in Lucca and having a spot within the old town was imperative. Our accommodations were as we had hoped for given the pictures on line. The private garden area for late afternoon wine and relaxation was much appreciated. Communication with our agents was effective and the recommendations and local history provided by the owner who lived on the property were invaluable. We would highly recommend Casa Beatrice to anyone travelling to Lucca.

Rez-de-jardin d'une belle demeure de Lucques intra muros. Beaucoup de charme, coin jardin très agréable, propriétaire homme de goût, très sympa. Salle de bains bien rénovée, belle cuisine. Excellente expérience !

Comfortable, Clean, Convenient

Our Casa Beatrice apartment was within the walls of the lovely city of Lucca. It was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The location was fabulous. We could walk the walls, a 4.5 km walkway surrounding the city and we could easily walk to restaurants, churches, shops, museums and the beautiful Piazza Anfiteatro. From our kitchen window we could look at the extensive gardens.

Ruhige und komfortable Unterkunft

Für unseren zweiwöchigen Aufenthalt haben wir diese Unterkunft gewählt, da wir möglichst zentral und trotzdem ruhig unterkommen wollten. Beide Kriterien sind in dieser Unterkunft bestens erfüllt. Für das tägliche Leben findet man alle notwendigen Utensilien in der Wohnung vor. Die Unterkunft ist groß und die Internetverbindung ist sehr gut. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Kaffees, Restaurants, Supermarkt, Mietwagen, Bahnhof etc.) kann man fußläufig erreichen. Wir würden sehr gerne wiederkommen! Danke auch an die Vermieterin und ihr Team.

Autentisk italiensk Lucca lejlighed, i en flot have.

Allerede når man træder ind af den store træport, er man i en dejlig fredfyldt oase, i en have med flotte klippede trær og buske. Spændene lejlighed, særlig køkken/opholdsrummet er rigtig dejlig og helt speciel med det oprindelige køkken fra gamle dage. Soveværlset er meget mørkt, det er dog også det eneste minus. Flink vært.

Ideal Spot

The apartment is ideally located just inside Porta Elisa with immediate access to the town wall and easy access to all the city has to offer. The space is large and comfortable and on the ground floor so no steps! We would definitely recommend this apartment for a short or long stay.

Disappointing, lacking comfort ,dark and a little depressing - sorry !

The property had character and was interesting historically. As it was located rather on the edge of Lucca although just inside the walls be prepared to walk . The main issue though was it had very little in the way of comfort, one sofa in a small kitchen diner area. We had originally booked elsewhere with the same person, but were told after payment was taken that this was no longer available so this was not our first choice. We were refunded but incurred bank charges which was not acceptable. I rang Home Away customer support but despite being promised one received no further response on this !!. We did not expect luxury but this apartment should really be only a summer let ( or at a significantly reduced price out of season) as it is dark and cold ( which would become shady and cool in the summer !) . Given this to be charged additionally for 'heating' was particularly annoying . Specifically, it was necessary to have lights on when inside at any time. The shower was far too small and window openings did not work properly. The garden is not private but a small strip of a larger garden accessed form it garden which is misleading from the photographs and description. Full payment up front ,as insisted on, gives little option to move elsewhere which we would have done as we were not satisfied. The owner lived upstairs and was very pleasant and helpful after the TV ( needed on wet evenings) did not work for the first three days on our one week stay. Think carefully about booking this apartment except in high summer.

Perfect service and apartment

We stayed in the Beatrice apartment for 4 weeks and we where very pleased with the apartment. The layout of the apartment was very adequate for our needs with two adults and occasional guests. The location inside the walls of Lucca was perfect. In the garden we could (only daytime) hear live classical music from a nearby resident which used to play piano occasionally, this was a good and beautiful experience. Sonia was a very good help during our stay, we had some problems with the toilet and the wifi, but she fixed it immediately. Perfect service :)

ideally situated for an experience of everyday Lucca

We love Lucca and this apartment tucked just inside the walls of the town was ideally situated for our gentle strolling through the alleyways to tucked away churches, ice-cream sellers and .oh so wonderful restaurants. The garden was great for a choice of shady snoozing or sunning yourself between outings.

Quiet place in a convenient location

The apartment was lovely overall in a really old building. It was quiet and conveniently located. From the pictures, it appeared that we had direct access to the garden, however, this was not the case. The apartment is really dark and the shower was very tight

Tuscan treat

Apartment was even nicer than expected as the photos do not do it justice when you step inside. It was spotless and very spacious. The garden was a bonus as you could open the doors to hear music from someone playing piano upstairs. As it was so central you could walk around the lovely town, hire bikes and cycle around the ramparts which the children loved, or as we did take daily train excursions to Florence, the Cinque Terra (a must) and Viareggio to the beach for a swim in the good season. There are many local restaurants each very good with simple food. If you feel like eating in there is a supermarket just around the corner and the kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials. We awoke on Saturday morning to a very heavy rain storm with thunder and lightning and had no electricity in the apartment so had to go out for breakfast. I contacted Sonia by text and she replied immediately that he would be around within the hour. Half of Lucca seemed to be without electricity so I began to panic thinking it could last the whole weekend. However we bumped into Sonia who informed us the power was back on. I was very impressed with the way the situation was handled. It was one of the best holidays I have had. Florence and Pisa were nothing compared to Lucca which is such a beautiful place. I would highly recommend this apartment and would definitley like to return at some stage.

Casa Bea with Garden by Mrs Sonia - Lucca

I am not easy to please! I have been a corporate event planner for twenty years. I have stayed in luxury resorts around the world and therefore one could say I have high expectations/standards. I was very hesitant to book this place as there were no reviews. Now my only regret is that I did not book the entire month. Words do not describe how perfect this place is! First of all the location is perfect. This home was once the villa of Napolean's sister and the gardens are spectacular! One can sit and enjoy the serenity of the garden or just walk out the front door and you are on the path/wall that surrounds Lucca. It is a short walk to the center Piazza with many great restaurants and small markets to buy fresh pasta along the route. The apartment has recently been renovated so everything is brand new! This includes the toaster, blender, microwave, washing machine, refrigerator , plates, glassware, etc... The owner has thought of everything to make your stay in his home enjoyable . Speaking of the owner , he lives on the property and is amazing! Lovely man who really wants you to enjoy Lucca and your visit . I mentioned that it would be nice to have a full length mirror in the apartment and the next day he assembled one and placed it in the bedroom for me. That is the definition of hospitality. If you are going to Lucca you must stay here. I miss it already and will be back for sure. I hope it is not booked as I have let the secret out! Love my villa and love Lucca!!!

The Perfect Italian atmosphere

The apartment was perfect for our needs- comfortable and very well equipped and beautifully clean. The situation is very good, close to shops, restaurants and only a short walk to the railway station. it was lovely to have our own garden even if the weather meant that we couldn't enjoy it as much as we liked. It was a treat to hear the piano music someone upstairs practising during the day - an unexpected perk of the property! Sonia organised everything for us brilliantly - the car from the airport, the biscuits and water to cover our late arrival and putting us in touch with her lovely colleague Isa so that we could book a guided tour of Lucca, which we would recommend. Sonia always did what she said she was going to do very promptly and efficiently, which made everything happen very smoothly. The information in the flat is extremely comprehensive and covers ideas of what to see and do as well as lots of personal recommendations about restaurants and shops. Following the advice was easy and it was always spot on! We didn't have a car but were glad we didn't. I am happy to recommend Sonia's company , Isa's guided tours and of course, Lucca itself!

Memorable

We found Sonia very easy to deal with and particularly attentive to a minor issue of a personal nature that we had. She met us with a very thorough explanation of how things work, like turning on gas, plugs, internet, locks, washer. We had questions and she was always quick to respond. A great representative and friend. We were there for two weeks and Angela came in and cleaned midway. She is thorough and efficient and there was no charge for that, as Sonia wants to maintain the quality of care that her home receives. That said, this apartment was FABULOUS. Just the right combination of old world that we were looking for and modern conveniences. ( We all now own frothers for cappuccino.) This apartment has large comfortable rooms, a wonderful garden (that we could not use tdue to cold weather- we stayed there at Christmas), comfortable bed and furniture. Lots of hangers. Loads of towels. The neighborhood was fun. A little bakery around the corner wraps your pastries like a present in paper and ribbons. Several good restaurants , a small market, and a scooter rental are within three blocks, It is a ten minute walk to the trains and it is right in the center of town. This is a very walkable area. This was my favorite of all the five places we stayed in Italy.

Amazing Rental

Great location, close to all the attractions but also quiet and peaceful away from the crowds. The apartment has the charm of yesteryear, however, it also has the latest appliances and large screen TV in the living area. Everything you need in a generous sized apartment with a beautiful garden with seating area to relax after a day of sight seeing. The owner who lives on the premises was very helpful and provided everything we needed for a memorable stay. The apartment is also very secure which is a comforting feeling and it is located near the entrance to the wall where you can cycle or walk. Parking is an easy 5 minutes walk and is a very reasonable cost. Lucca is an amazing place and this apartment is also near local restaurants which were fantastic and we got to know the owners who looked after us. Highly recommend this apartment for a great stay in Lucca.
