Direct Ocean Front View! Like Sleeping on the Beach! 2bd/1bth, Pool, Split AC

If you dream of sleeping on a tropical beach, a world apart from your everyday life, you will love staying here. Built before setbacks from the water were required, our condo is literally right on the ocean, 15' from the shore. We have fondly named it "Turtle Haven" because we see them every day from the lanai.


Our two bedroom, one bath, second floor, oceanfront unit is the ideal vacation home to share with your family and friends. As soon as you walk in the door, you'll feel as if you've stepped into another place and time. It has everything you need for a truly comfortable stay:

- Bedroom #1 - Queen bed with plenty of storage
- Bedroom #2 - Two twin beds ( can be converted to King) with plenty of storage
- Living Room - Daybed / twin size
- Air Conditioning - split AC system with AC units in each bedroom and in the living area
- Keypad door lock (no keys or cards to carry)
- Free WiFi, 40" Flat Screen "smart" TV and Blu-ray DVD player
- Telephone with free long distance to USA and Canada
- Fully equipped and newly remodeled kitchen
- Beach gear ( usually left by previous guest, no guarantees!) We do recommend renting snorkel gear for best hygiene and fit. There are a few in walking distance.
- Portable PakNPlay with extra bedding.
-A high chair is available on request.
- Resident green sea turtles that you can watch from the lanai (we call the big guy"Ted")
- 2nd Floor in a 2 story building, stair access only (no elevator)

From our private lanai, you have an unobstructed ocean view of neighboring islands of Lanai and Molokai, miles of open water, spectacular sunsets, sail boats, soft breezes, turtles, dolphins and ocean waves. This property is ideally situated to view a new spectacular sunset every night!

And, whales! If you visit between mid-November to mid-April, you will see lots and lots of humpback whales!!

OUR UNIT:
Experience "Old Hawaiian" charm at Maui Sands. The spacious living and dining area open onto a large lanai to provide space to stretch out, read, relax, watch the ocean or play games in the evening. The fully furnished kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave, stove and refrigerator/freezer (equipped with an ice maker!). You'll have plenty of seating for meals at the dining room table, island counter and at the table on the lanai . We have tried to keep a vintage flavor, but for the more technically inclined, the unit is completed with WiFi, a flat screen TV, Blu-ray/DVD player, and a keypad door lock (no keys to carry around).

The unit can sleep up to five (5) guests on beds. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, the guestroom has two twin beds and there is a twin size daybed in the living room to sleep five comfortably. There is a PakNPlay available as well. We can also provide a high chair with advance notice.

In the bathroom, the vanity is separate from the water closet, making it functional and convenient for larger groups. There is a shower/tub combo.

SAFETY:
We take your safety and well-being seriously. We have a comprehensive cleaning and sanitizing program for this property. Our cleaning service and on-site staff are spending as much time as necessary to make sure that all areas of your rental are thoroughly cleaned before you check in.
We use a video door camera for your safety as well.

CHECK-IN:
We ask you to plan ahead as we may not be able to allow early check ins and late check outs as often as we would like. Our standard check-in is 5:00PM and check-out is 11:00AM.

THE RESORT:
Stroll through three acres of lovingly tended, lush tropical gardens with plenty of grassy areas, tropical fruit trees, native plants and room to play outdoors. The property has an unheated fresh water swimming pool, 3 BBQs, an ice machine and a coin-operated laundromat.

The AOAO completed the replacement of the oceanfront seawall in 2020 which includes central stairs directly to the beach for easy access to the beach, ocean and reefs directly in front of our unit. sand level varies by season and weather, but you are just steps away from snorkeling, surfing, scuba diving, paddle boarding, wave jumping or just simply basking in the sun right in FRONT of our home. Watch the kids play in the water from your lanai or the grassy strip along the beach. Bring your snorkeling gear, or rent from across the street. Discover the abundant sea life in the ocean waters right in front of our condo. Maybe you'll get lucky and share the water with one of our resident green sea turtles.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
This is a lovely neighborhood, a mix of locals and visitors. You will find people wave as they walk by! For a change of pace, take a short walk north and you'll find Honokowai Park with picnic tables, jungle gym, shade trees and a sandy beach. Your kids will love it. And, sometimes you'll find a turtle or a monk seal basking on the beach. Stop at the farmer's market/store on your way back for some appetizers (this is a favorite for local fresh fruit and vegan options) to enjoy while you watch the sunset or browse through local shops for the perfect island-made jewelry, keepsake or gift. If you're more ambitious, you can stroll down to the the boardwalk a few blocks south and walk 3 miles all the way to Black Rock and Kaanapali Beach. Maybe stop at Dukes for a refreshment!

You will have a reserved parking place for your car, included in your rental price, but can easily walk to restaurants, shops, grocery stores, a fish market and a farmers' market. Our complex is located in West Maui on Lower Honoapiilani Road between Kaanapali and Kapalua, a short drive or bus ride for you to enjoy world-class beaches, golf courses and shopping at Whaler's Village. There are also bicycle, scooter and motorcycle rentals available within walking distance.

Rent a scooter and take a drive North up the coast to snorkel in Honolua Bay. Venture further to the Blow Hole or charming Kahakuloa Village for a taste of Julia's banana bread. Then, return to the quiet grounds of Maui Sands, look up to admire the stars and fall asleep listening to the gentle lapping of the ocean waves.
