It was a pleasure to have you at our home and welcome you back anytime.

We purchased this house in February last year and worked tirelessly to decorate and furnish the house for all to enjoy. We provided our renters with a freshly painted and newly furnished home. When we returned to the house after this particular renter there was a large brown stain on the ceiling clearly from a water accident upstairs which had to be repaired and repainted. Our painter (who painted the house only two months prior) was shocked when he saw the damage and couldn’t believe that nobody told us. In addition, there were dents and marks on the walls. All of our pool rafts were popped and there was damage to our furniture. The house was infested with crickets and we had to get an exterminator (we did not have crickets before they rented and we do not have them now). In addition to repainting the celling and the exterminator costs, we had to replace and fix many items and pay for the electricity bill that was four times higher than any other renter. When the family inquired about the return of their security deposit we provide them with this information. More specifically, a list of all the damage and the costs they incurred. We also sent them a check for the remaining balance. This renter did not respond to the list or question the sum we returned to them or suggested that they were not responsible for the damage. We have not had a response from them in 6 months until this erroneous review. We used the security deposit for its purpose and luckily covered (just about) the damage. We have had many other renters and in particular, repeat renters and this is the only time we were not able to return the security deposit in full. Our house is clean, tidy and well presented. We constantly add to the property for our renters to enjoy and this year is no exception with the addition of Sonos, apple TV, lounge chairs, patio heaters, fire pit, lighting, ping pong table, new furnishings, reconditioned Air-conditioning, a second fridge/freezer, new landscaping and more.
