Welcome to our spacious and historic Bay Head home, perfect for families looking to enjoy the shore with ease and charm. Just blocks from the beach and steps to everything Bay Head has to offer, this 5-bedroom, 2.5-bath home sleeps 8–10 guests and is designed for convenience, and connection.

Features include:
* Central air conditioning and heating
* 5 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, plus an outdoor hot water shower for rinsing off after the beach
* Kitchen with granite countertops and all the essentials
* A wraparound front porch, back deck, and private yard—ideal for meals, relaxing, or watching the sunset
* 8 beach badges included for guarded beach (required for ages 12+) Additional daily badges may be purchased by the renter at the BHIA office down the road.
* Walkable to the NJCL train station, charming local shops, fine dining, and Twilight Lake

For larger groups, consider renting the rear cottage on the same property, a 3-bedroom retreat located right on Scow Ditch (VRBO #570239).

LOCATION HIGHLIGHT:
* Steps from Twilight Lake, walking distance to Bay Head beaches, downtown cafés, shops, and ice cream, and just minutes from the Bay Head train station. Nearby is a public park, playground, and tennis/pickleball courts.
We are dog-friendly up to 20 pounds (with owner approval) for a $200 fee per dog.

Family Stay over the 4th

We loved the Porch and the location. It was so convenient to the shops, restaurants and most important the Beach! We had a great family week at the beach. Bay Head is the best town on the Jersey Shore!

The house has lots of room for extended family and is in a great location. Walkability to shops, restaurants, market and the beach is amazing. Very clean and will definitely rent again!!

TRY SEPTEMBER!

We spent the month of September. The weather was spectacular, ?Because there were 5 bedrooms, we were able to have guests at different times all month, and the long dining table made special meals perfect. The screened in porch was a favorite, as was access to the waterfront in the back yard. We had the grill and a backyard to host picnics. And the location!! Two blocks to the beach. Reviiews from guests were spectacular!

Perfect vacation.

The house was perfect for my family. We walked to the ocean with my 2 year old grandson in the wagon. At the corner is a cafe where I got my coffee every morning. People are all very friendly. Sitting in the screened in porch all walking by said hello. We walked to Theresa South for dinner one night. The food was excellent. Also a short drive to Pt Pleasant. My husband said he never felt so relaxed. Thank you Joe.

Bay Head 2023

Every year we rent a house at the Jersey Shore with my parents, brother and his family and my family, this home had plenty of bedrooms and space to spread out and come together to play board games and enjoy meals together. Only two blocks from the beach and restaurants. The neighborhood is quiet no loud parties (thank god) I would recommend this home to any large family. The central air was such a delight after coming back from the beach. Enclosed large front porch was the hub of our gaming.

House is good. Location is great.

The house is old, a little creaky and has been warn down from years of use and, having just stayed in it with my family, I understand why so many people have used it so much: It’s the perfect beach house that has no doubt delivered decades of enjoyment and memories to families coming to the Jersey Shore. The bonus room in the attic with its own bathroom is perfect if you have kids. The house is great, but the house itself isn’t what makes this rental so perfect: This house is located within walking distance to everything. It’s two blocks (call it 100 yards?) from the beach. It’s one block from Mueller’s bakery and Charlie’s. It’s 100 feet from the Dune Grass cafe. It’s a block and a half from Teresa’s South restaurant. It’s 75 feet from the playground. You can walk to everything. My girls and I would get up every morning and walk to the beach before breakfast just to see for ourselves what the conditions were. We hit Mueller’s every day after the beach (which may not be a selling point for some of you). We walked to dinner or had it on the porch. It was great.

We enjoyed our stay at Joe’s place. We were in town for a graduation and the house easily accompanied our group of 10. Everything you need is there.

Truly a Bay Head Experience

Had a wonderful vacation in an old Bay Head House. Very clean. kitchen small but all you need. Bed on first floor could use replacing. Other beds were great. All in all a 5* stay.

Love this home! Our third summer here.

This is our third stay here and we love this home. Summer at the beach in this comfortable, homey, laid back house has always been a highlight for our family and the kids always ask if we can stay in the same place. The owner and his son are super responsive and on top of things. The property is located only a short two blocks from the beach, and around the corner from a great bakery (Mueller's), restaurant and ice cream (Dune Grass Restaurant), coffee place (Coffee at Noon), and shops. Bike riding in this neighborhood is safe, and there are two parks for kids nearby (Bay Head Playground is around the corner, Heritage playground is a short bike ride away). There is tennis and pickleball at the Bay Head Playground, and basketball at Heritage. There is a community pool nearby although we did not go (there are day passes, but call as you may need to be accompanied by a member?). Close drive to Seaside Heights boardwalk. The house is large and has several bed configurations that worked great for our family of 5. There is cookware and dishes/silverware and we cooked several meals here. There is a large dining room table that seats 8 (we sat 13 for a family dinner by adding another available table). We loved the screened porch for morning coffee and watching the joggers and bike riders go by, and watching the lovely, short summer rain. Plenty of linens, towels, blankets and pillows make it comfy. It feels like we are visiting the home of a family friend as it feels like a well-loved home, not a sterile, staged "rental." If you are looking for an all updated, all new property than this might not be for you, but we love the vibe in this house. Beach badges are included and the Bay Head beach is gorgeous. There is a grassy area in back, an outdoor shower, and access to the canal in the back yard where you could put in your paddleboard (you go past the rental cottage on the property to get to the canal). We are looking forward to many more summers here in this lovely home.

Great Bay Head Rental

Great House with lots of charm and character in a great location. The house is clean, everything worked (all appliances/wifi/Air Conditioning) and the host is very responsive to questions or concerns. While the house could use a little updating, the interior was just fine for what we needed. I consider this house a good value in a good location and the host does a good job.

Perfect location - Poor House

We were greeted by Joe when our cab arrived in the driveway and I advised him I may be earlier as we were unsure if we would hit traffic or not, we arrived and he argued with us for a good 5 minutes as it was only 1pm and he told me 130pm. Finally he let us put our stuff outside in the backyard and go get lunch since we were early, you would have thought it would have been awhile but he calls us 10 mins after the whole arriving early show and says we can now come back lol.......suffice today it was not a good start. We tried to look past that and checked in the house, you are greeted upon the smell of what can only be described as a mix of a stench of old people and basement when you enter. So bad that my husband went to CVS and got glade plug ins and candles. The floors are uneven and falling through we were truly afraid of where we were walking bc that's how poor the floors were in the house. The furniture must have been here for 40+ years because just as the floors it is old and filthy as well. The neighbors homes on both sides were beautiful and we felt a bit upset at the house specially for paying top dollar for one week. The storm hit that weekend and the wind and rain was pretty bad and it tore off the porch screens and we let Joe know and he said he would be over to fix it the next morning but never came. We decided to leave TWO days early with no refund bc the stay was just not comfortable. I would highly NOT recommend staying here.

Christmas getaway

We rented the property for the week leading up to Christmas. While I would agree with the reviews that the property could use some small cosmetic upgrades (some new bedding in the master, fresh paint, some new cookware), we had a great stay. The house is really cool and interesting (full of character!) and a truly unbeatable location. I found the property owner Joe to be kind and responsive. It was a lovely place to spend Christmas with our immediate family. Would recommend and would go again!

Spacious but shabby

House and porch provide lots of space for social distancing but inside could use an overall facelift. The electoral outlets, microwave and bedroom TV are grossly out of date.. There are no special amenities provided as we have experienced. with prior rentals in Ocean Grove. It's an old style beach house whose best feature is its convenient location to beach and local restaurants.

The kitchen has a new 12 cup coffee maker and the living rm has a new 40" t.v. the microwave is digital .

Family vacation

Great house in a great area. Blocks from the beautiful beach. House was very clean and plenty of space for the family. TV did not work as other reviews reported but owner was very responsive and bought a new TV that we happily picked up nearby and installed. With young children, and a few rainy days it was necessary. Grill was out of gas so we also had to buy a replacement tank if we wanted to grill. There should always be an extra tank ready if having a grill is in the listing. Otherwise, our stay was great, plenty of space for everyone to chill and a beautiful beach town.

The Tenant never notified me that the gas tank was empty. I have a few Gas tanks in the garage for replacement if she had indicated for such.

Great location!

The place was everything we needed: 2.5 blocks to the beach, ample space, nice backyard and cool screened porch. Owner was quick with communication and amenable to requests. Dog park nearby, couple good swimming spots for dogs nearby

Great location but a run down disappointment

Walking distance to beautiful beach. Air conditioned nicely. Lots of room. However, tiny ants on kitchen counter and floor in spite of ant traps. Mouse droppings in bathroom cabinet. Torn screens. Chaotic cabinets, crumbs in silverware drawer, microwave dried splatters, grill needed scrubbing and cleaning to use. TV didn't work. Vacuum not usable. Manager was responsive but I didn't want to spend my vacation dealing with all the problems.

Tenants check in early and check out late, shortening the cleaning service's time. TV is working with higher cable speed. Cleaning service went back to house and stayed until tenant was satisfied.
