INITIAL SUPPLIES - UPON ARRIVAL
Panhandle Getaways furnishes a few essential items for guests to utilize until they can get to the grocery store. Initial Supplies include: Dishwasher soap, small washing machine powder, each bathroom has amenities (like hotel but NOT restocked) shampoo, conditioner, soap bar. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and one paper towel roll in the kitchen. All bed linens and towels are provided. We encourage guests to bring beach towels for use at the pool and beach.

Great for Family

Clean , beautifully decorated , kids loved the bunk room and all the amenities included at the Tidewater . The pools were great ; loved the theater and arcade . On site restaurant was great as well . Would definitely recommend for families !

July 2024 trip

Great time at Tidewater. Condo was very nice and clean. View is amazing and Beach did not disappoint! Only down side was long elevator waits but learned to pick low traffic times to use elevator. I would definitely come back and stay again!

Great stay

Great view, clean room elevators were a nightmare. They are working on them but walking up and down 18 flights of stairs on vacation not ideal. Room was locked almost 10 minutes too early. Did however ejoyed every minute of the stay.

Beautiful condo

The condo itself was great, location was close to pier park, furnished nicely. Our only problem was the security guard at checkin… which wasn’t any reflection of the actual condo. She was very rude to us. Otherwise enjoyed our stay.

Everything is perfectly alright except, door key was inactive almost an hour before check out time. We went out in the morning on the check out day. The door key was not working at 915 am where check out time was at 10 am. Please make sure in the future door key would active until 10 am.

Perfect location

Our Condo was amazing. We loved the decor. The views from the balcony were so beautiful. We loved that we had 2 bathrooms and 2 sliding doors to access the balcony. Location was great for local shopping or to grab goceries. We definitely recommend staying here. Easy access to the water/beach. Wristbands to access menities and parking were great. If there is one thing I could change it would be the amount of elevators. They were always busy and often times we had to wait a considerable amount of time before one showed up on our floor, but that would not change my mind about staying there again. We hope to visit gain when time permits.

It was a great condo. My only issues were… there wasn’t a broom, so I bought one and left there for people to use. And the washer didn’t work properly. It wouldn’t spin out. So I was only able to wash 1 load of laundry and I had to dry it 3 times. But other than that it was a berry nice place. Absolutely beautiful and very homey.

condo was very nice. The curtains had holes burned in them. And what appeared to be blood all over the back of one. So maybe they can clean those. It was super busy when we went so the elevators did take a while and we ended up having to use the stairs. On the 18th floor..... so I would suggest to be prepared for a wait. But the condo was clean and looked like the pictures

The management response to a dishwasher machine problem was horrible.

The property was OK, but the maintenance and the management response was horrible. After three days in my stay there was a foul smell coming out of the dishwasher machine. The dishwasher was not working, and water inside became stinky to sa point that it became unbearable. I called the Panhandlegateway management company to ask for help. They responded next day that will look into it. Nobody showed up and the next two days, and I reached to them explaining that I don't need to have the machine replaced or fixed just to have someone come in and suck that bad water out of the dishwasher machine. They never bothered to respond, and the maintenance guy showed up seven days later to remove the foul watre out of teh diswasher?!

Beach getaway

Everything was great!! Easy check in process.. only thing i would change is have a smart TV in the bedroom too!! Oh and i would also let people know that the fridge does not make ice just invade you don’t bring any like we did!! Other than that everything was perfect!!! Will definitely stay again!!!!

nice condo bad elevators

The condo was nice overall. The property building was okay. The elevators were the worst part, It seemed like everyone was always waiting to get on and the second floor was packed with people trying to get on. Maybe its better off peak season. The property was kind of dirty outside of the condo. Panhandle getaways was great to deal with overall. Would rent from them again but probably not stay here until they get the elevator situation fixed.

Home away from home unit 1815

We had a wonderful time overall. Pros: the beautiful views, beach front, our condo had washer/dryer which was wonderful, Starbucks on site, garage parking, 3 pools. Cons: elevator wait times (it was worse on check in/out times), one pool was closed during our stay, beach area was congested most of the time. Condo 1815 was newly remodeled and had several personal touches which made our stay even better. Overall great stay. I would recommend going to beach early morning and setting out beach chairs like other people do so you can get closer to the beach. Also the beach chairs and umbrellas are expensive at the beach-$179 for 4 days.

Elevator Traffic

So it turns out- the rental company isn’t on site- so you check in at a desk with a ‘not very personable’ person- who cares less about your stay. Then the simple task of Getting your luggage to your room is a nightmare. The line to get on the elevator is 10 luggage carts long (if you’re lucky). The wait for Your trip can be up to 30min. Once on- you get to stop on almost every floor- there are not enough elevators for the amount of units in this building- we lost a lot of vacation time traveling from room to pool to beach- and waiting and waiting and waiting. Check in day and check out day should be free for the time spent on elevator traffic. The room was nicely decorated- but things were broken (bed rail off, lounge chair ripped- and I think the toilet ran the entire time we were there) Nice room, nice beach- but we won’t be staying here again- we are checking out today- wish me luck getting downstairs! (I overheard one guest say he was bringing a parachute if he ever stayed here again- ha!)

2nd time at tidewater would stay again at resort.

This unit lacked necessities...dryer no heat..broken DVD player in bedroom...owner had to delivery an iron..had to purchase pizza pan and cutting board... we understand owner was there during holidays prior to our stay. Should of been taken care of at that time.

Great location!

This is a very nice facility in close proximity to lots of great restaurants and stores. The 1 thing that is not good is the elevators. Usually a very long wait.

Enjoyed our stay...

We ended up renting this unit last minute due to our other choices being rented. We just wanted to make sure the weather was going to cooperate with all the hurricanes. I will start with the positives. Condo was clean and smelled fresh. The view from the 18th floor was amazing. Most importantly the bed was comfortable. I’m pregnant and slept better in this bed than I do in my own! Bed linens were very clean and nice pillows on all the beds. Living room was comfortable enough for what little time we actually spent indoors. Kitchen was stocked enough to get by. Tons of books to read. We usually only rent from owners and not company’s such as Panhandle Getaways, but I will say they provided all the info we needed in an easy to use app on our phones and it couldn’t have been easier:) Unfortunately there were a few negatives worth mentioning. Overall it could use a little maintenance attention. Broken Bed knobs and a few knicks here and there doesn’t bother us at all but I could see how it may be an issue if you are looking for a pristine condo. Patio door in living room was almost impossible for me to open. We did not mention it due to having two wild little boys who we did not want to be able to open it anyways;) The one thing that really bugged me was the showers. No matter how much I tried to aim or adjust the removable shower heads they just sprayed straight down and aimed at the shower curtain. After a day at the beach nothing beats a hot relaxing shower... I did not get that luxury this past week. All it would take is a new shower head unit in both bathrooms. The sprayer in the kitchen sink did not work as well. Appliances (fridge and w&d) definitely could use an update as well. We never called and voiced any of these minor issues to Panhandle getaways because we were too busy enjoying our vacation. I can say however my mom booked a room on the 8th floor this week and she did have to call as soon as they got there over a few things and Panhandle Getaways was prompt and eager to help!

Great Unit / Condo

We just enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Tidewater. The unit was very clean and in good shape. The condo and facilities were also very nice. I would stay here again. They make you pay $25 for arm bands when you check in which I thought was silly since the VRBO Mobile App already gave me the codes to the unit, parking and all amenities.

CLEAN, EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE, AMAZING VIEWS!!

My wife and I stayed for two amazing weeks in September...we were actually married on the beach during our stay. The unit was very clean and comfortable and and had pretty much everything you might need. I can see how the building might get crowded in the middle of the summer, but we had no trouble at all. Waking up to those views every morning was breathtaking, and sitting on the balcony having morning coffee and evening drinks was a great way to relieve any stress you might have! I recommend St.Andrews State Park for pontoon boat rentals at a very reasonable price to Shell Island. We highly recommend this unit and will definitely come back again!!!

First the bad news: The photos of this unit are a bit misleading making the space appear much larger than it actually is. Also, there are no rugs anywhere in the unit like pictured. However, it was ample room for my husband, myself and two teenage boys. Keep in mind this is a very large high-rise meaning super over crowded. Upon arrival when obtaining your parking pass, pool passes and luggage cart, it was utter chaos and unorganized. With several hundred people, it took well over an hour just to finally make it to our room. Be prepared to pay 25 fee for the week for all AND be prepared to wait, wait and wait for the elevators. With thousands of people in this one complex, the average wait for an elevator was 20min depending on the time of day. When you finally get an elevator, jump on no matter which direction it's going! Once on the beach, be ready for crowds. The resort states no personal chairs or umbrellas directly in front of the rental chairs/umbrellas but unfortunately they do not enforce this. Thus, people set up for free right in front of your paid space, Now for some Good News: The room was very clean, though the paint and furniture did show some wear, everything was clean. I would suggest a lighter fragrance however as it took the entire week to get the "cleaner" smell down to bearable. The unit really did have everything and anything we could need including cookware, utensils, movies, games and a couple of beach umbrellas. The view from the 18th floor is beautiful but took some getting used to. Both the livingroom and bedroom have the same ocean view which was a plus. The two large pools on site were awesome and very well kept with plenty of loungers. The resort offers wooden beach loungers that are padded with umbrellas and if you don't want the hassle of carrying your own chairs/umbrellas down each day, I suggest getting a set. Get in line at 730am to reserve yours for the week. It's a little pricey, but worth it and the guys that run the rentals are great and will move your umbrella for you throughout the day just like you want it. Once out of the elevator, it's a short distance to the pools and beach. Several activities throughout the day at the pool. Would I say here again? NEVER -but mainly because of the crowd and elevator issue. Anything we wanted to do was a hassle just to get there. So we had to plan our entire day carefully to avoid unnecessary elevator wait time. We still enjoyed our stay.

Luvee luvee this place! Will definite return. Huge, Super clean, amazing view, family loved it!

We just loved this place. Not only is it in the corner (nice and private), but we came with a family of 6 and had the time of our life. Place is super clean. We called the service and they responded both time almost instantaneously. Super impressed to be honest! Spacious.. all the TVs in the room are big and work great. Great family room... awesome beach view private balcony. Everything worked great in kitchen. Easy access.thank God. No checking in at front desk or pesky room keys to keep around beach. In evenings we had so much fun at Pier park, went to Silver Sands outlet mall in Destin (just 36 in drive), beach everyday all day... jet skiing, para sailing >> We did it all! The small shop is amazing.. try the ice cream! There was something for everyone and we loved it.Thanks for an awesome stay! Small things to fix: 1. Could replace pots as bottom is a bit scraped up 2. Back room seems to not get as much AC at times while front is always freezing Tip: This room does not come with the umbrella service, which is like $30 a day. Target is 5 mins away and two chairs and umbrella will run $20. :-) Just buy it. Park on level 1 or level 3, 2 is always over packed due to loading dock.

Great Girls Weekend!

My girlfriends and I used this condo for a wonderful long weekend last summer. It had a great location, right on the beautiful beach, and all the amenities you need! We enjoyed the outdoor pool when the beach got a little too hot. Only thing we were missing that we needed was a blender:) We tripped the breaker once with all our getting ready for dinner process, and the owner was quick to answer the phone and walk us thru getting power back. We had a great time!
