This private 3 bedroom (3 bedroom is a den with a twin sleeper sofa), 2 bath cottage sits on scenic Hogback Creek in the beautiful Western North Carolina Mountains. The single level cottage is beautifully appointed and has cathedral ceilings, wood burning fireplace, master suite, kitchen and large covered deck facing Hogback Creek. Enjoy all the Sapphire Valley amenities, including lake access, golf, community center, indoor/outdoor swimming, fitness center, hiking, and skiing. Plus dining, shopping, and all the outdoor activities that Sapphire, Cashiers, and Highlands has to offer.

What a wonderful retreat. The location was perfect for enjoying the leaves and fall in western NC. And this must be the best house I have ever stayed in from the stocked kitchen for cooking and serving to the special welcoming touches throughout the house. The hosts really outdid themselves. Will return when in WNC!

One of the best cabins we have ever stayed in! David, the host, was wonderful and his communication was remarkable. He often provided a response within minutes when hours or even the next day would have been fine with us. (Wish we could have given 6 stars for communication with the host but only 5 were permitted). The cabin was clean, beautifully decorated, and had all the features we wanted. The neighborhood was great, with a picturesque drive from the main road to the cabin that will be a lasting memory. The covered back porch and fireplace were perfect for our fall visit, and we can imagine that would be a great spot in spring and summer too, maybe even winter for the non-Florida folks. Sapphire/Cashiers/Highlands area was just what we were looking for and this cabin will be a repeat visit for sure, hopefully many times.

This property is absolutely beautiful! My 4th stay here. The property has everything you need, and is very comfortable and clean. I love the new edition of the outside fireplace, we used it almost every night roasting marshmallows! It’s so peaceful and tranquil, I always hate to leave! Thank you for sharing your amazing cabin us!!

When you walk in the door, this house hugs you and says “welcome home!” So inviting and comfortable. Well appointed, nice kitchen, pet friendly, and sits by a babbling mountain brook. What more could you ask?!

We had a great week at Hogback Creek. David our host was excellent in his description of the house. Left all necessary to check in. House is fully equipped, has everything you might need for an enjoyable stay. House is well taken care of and clean. Car is necessary as the house is in a nice rural community, but remote for shopping and points of interest.

Perfect Getaway

We had a great time exploring the Cashiers, Sapphire and Highlands area. The house is in a beautiful neighborhood and convient to all of the locations we wanted to explore. It was very comfortable and had every item you could need in a rental house. It was very clean, organized and inviting. The back porch is amazing. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice cabin as advertised.The third bedroom which has a sleeper is small,but perfect for a child.The location is up a winding road approximately 2.5 miles from Hwy 64.we would definitely rent again.

Fabulous Creekside Cottage in Sapphire

Creekside is a lovely home with beautiful decor. It was refreshing to sit on the deck listening to the babbling creek and singing birds high among the beautiful tree tops. The host David is excellent, friendly, communicates in a timely manner and with articulation, We were sad to leave and hope to return there in the near future.

Relaxing Getaway @Hogback Creekside!

My husband and I had another wonderful stay at this gorgeous cabin! It has everything you need and is very well stocked We enjoyed a fire in the fireplace in the living room two nights. One of the things we really love about this cabin is the gorgeous porch off the kitchen. And now the owner has built a beautiful stone fireplace at one of the ends of the outside porch! Wonderful addition! David is very easy to work with and always has us check in with him via text when we arrive. We highly recommend this cabin We will return again!

So relaxing!

We loved staying at David’s cottage! It’s the cutest cottage. Beautifully decorated. The master bed was so comfortable! We loved the master bath as well. We spent most of our time on the huge porch listening to the creek below. We cooked a lot and the kitchen had everything we needed. We were able to bring our black lab Sadie with us too and she loved hiking the area! We can’t wait to be back to creeksde cottage!

Perfect in So Many Ways!

This was the best possible place for our month-long getaway from Florida heat! The house is beautifully appointed, fully equipped in every way, and truly close to everything. The host was very responsive to my few questions and his check-in was effortless. This is our 3rd trip to Sapphire Valley and our favorite house. Had deer and a bear pass through the yard, too. No outside grill, but no problem. Tons of hiking and waterfalls nearby. Use All trails (free app) for details. Enjoy!nearby restful.

Peace and quiet and cool mountain air!

This home exceeded my expectations in every possible way. I spent almost every waking hour on the porch watching the birds and enjoying the cool air. The kitchen was well equipped, the decor was beautiful, the linens were great, the beds were comfortable….I wouldn’t change a thing. I lowered the rating regarding the accuracy of the listing because it was unclear to me that the hot tub was not on the property. It is listed as an amenity but I didn’t see it in the pictures so I inquired. It, a pool, and other amenities were available at the club. I think VRBO could do a better job with the description. I truly had an absolutely delightful time.

Creekside Cottage

We loved Creekside Cottage. The location is beautiful and the cottage is comfortable and well appointed, with all the comforts of home. Everything is easy and well communicated. Much better than staying in a hotel! The steep driveway was a surprise, but not unexpected in the area.

Great stat

Excellant Experience

Booked as a quick getaway in the mountains for my wife and I . Home was clean , very well decorated , comfortable and kitchen fully equipped ! Setting was wonderful and serene on a nice mountain stream . Close to Saphire , Cashiers and Highlands . Plenty of great hiking nearby … both touristy hiking areas as well as remote mountain trails leading to waterfalls and views . Definitely recommend !

Escape from Florida's Heat

This property was secluded, the VRBO description was spot on. The sound of the creek was so relaxing. Sitting on the covered deck, listening to the creek was so very relaxing. Would return with no hesitation.

Incredible stay!

Calming Creekside Setting

The house is beautiful and comfortable. We loved, loved, loved the back large deck listening to the birds and the creek down below. The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and a nice soaking tub. The only dislike was the very steep driveway. We found the location to be convenient to town or state park.

Picture Perfect

My original review did not save so here’s hoping I can write a review as good as the last! My husband and I visit Sapphire several times a year and are always looking for our perfect place to stay. We might just have found it! Creekside was the absolute perfect place for us to escape and disconnect. It is close enough to town, but far enough to just take in the nature. The house is beautifully decorated (photos do not do it justice) and maintained very well. Listening to the creek and windchimes on a breezy or rainy day were heaven to us! The kitchen is stocked well and we were able to cook our meals each day. It definitely felt like home. If David will have us back, we would love to stay again!

I first visited the Sapphire Valley years ago while visiting my parents in Asheville and knew that I wanted a little getaway of my own. I found this house and knew it would be a wonderful place to spend a few week each year relaxing.
