This is the second time we have stayed at this location. Charlie is a great host. Perfect spot to stay when having to fish Cowanesque.

Great Getaway

The apartment was a great place to unwind with our preteen grandchildren. Lots of space and walking distance to recreation area on Cowanesque Lake. Beautiful view from the deck.

Charlie and his team are great

Always a pleasant, peaceful and relaxing stay at these apartments. This year we rented all 3 apartments, and it was great to have to whole house to ourselves. Too bad the weather and fishing on the local lakes didn't cooperate, but we had a great time with family and old and new friends. Don't ever hesitate to call Chalie (the owner) if you have any issues, because he'll take care of it asap. I highly recommend this place.

Great place for family/friend fishing trip

We take an annual fishing trip to the local lakes and we are so glad that this place is available. It's directly across the street from Cowanesque and 20 min from Tioga and Hammond lakes. The owner is very responsive and the improvements (new water system, land around the place, new appliances, etc.) are great. The cleanliness is top notch as well. We ent both apartments 2 & 3.

Weekend getaway

My bestie and I got together for her birthday. We had both passed Cowanesque Lake on our travels to visit each other and needed a place to stay near Corning NY. The location is fabulous with a view of the lake from the deck and wide open sky for stargazing. There is a firepit on the lower lawn, plenty of parking and a great porch with a large shared deck (there are 3 apartments). Charlie, (our host) is a pleasure to work with, very accommodating allowing for a hassle free early check in and open to ideas for improvements. The house itself is old and has a great history (the Charlie's son was also there for the weekend and filled us in). Some of the original woodwork along with exterior window and door trim is still there and just lovely. The apartment is spacious, the furnishings eclectic, which was fine with us. The kitchen is large and well equipped (no dishwasher, though, again, that was fine with us). The bedrooms are not large, but served well. Plenty of sheets and towels, though a little too much scent from fabric softeners/dryer sheets for my taste. The A/C window units had not been cleaned in a while. Fortunately it was quite cool when we stayed, so we did not need them. Charlie is addressing that issue. All that said, the apartment is in need of a remodel, which Charlie indicated to me is in the works for next year. Can't wait to see it! Along with that remodel, a filtration system is going in to cure the sulfur water. In the meantime, the Brita type filter jug in the fridge takes care of that for drinking water. It is across the road from Cowanesque Lake Park which has boating, swimming, fishing and hiking trails, and a short ride to Corning NY and Mansfield PA. It is not a far walk to the entrance to the swimming area. Really looking forward to returning next summer after the remodel, or perhaps staying in one of the tiny-house cottages being put in adjacent to the house.

Just as advertised and shown. Great stay, enjoyed ourselves. Got good additional info when I contacted him, thanks so much. Perfect location for our fishing tournament. Would love to stay again.

Great spot for fishing Cowanesque Lake

We rented apartments numbers 2 (upstairs) and 3 (ground floor) for a friends and family fishing trip to the local lakes (Cowanesque, Tioga, Hammond). Positives: The place is in a perfect location as you can see the Cowanesque boat launch area from the front porch. We caught tons of fish even though the temps were in the upper 80s low 90s the entire time. The air conditioning was a welcomed addition to the trip and we liked that basically every room had its own A/C. The parking area easily accommodated our three vehicles with boats and 3 without boats. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room for all us in both places. The owner was quick to respond to any of my texts. Minor cons - Prior to arrival I asked if we could check in early and the owner said yes. Unfortunately apt 3 was not cleaned when we arrived. Not a big deal as we just stacked our stuff in a corner and then went fishing until Housekeeping arrived and cleaned. Also the dishwasher is not connected and contained dirty dishes so we had to do our own dishes. Again not a big deal. All-in-all we will definitely reserve this place for our annual fishing trip.
