Getaway to Summit Lake

Enjoy peace and relaxation on Summit Lake. Fish, swim, and boat away the season. Our 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom vacation house in Summit, NY is located on 1.5 acres and sits on the southern end of Summit Lake. The property sleeps up to 8 guest comfortably and is ideal for a family or group of friends looking to experience all the area has to offer. Situated in Schoharie County, north end of the Catskills, you are surrounded by nature and very few neighbors on our side of the lake.

All of the home is available for use including the top floor, the main floor and the finished basement/recreation area. Both decks are available for cooking or relaxing and sunbathing. The lake sits at the bottom of the grass on our property for guests to use to play or picnic. The lake is available to use excluding motorized boats.

We are located close to numerous wedding venues, multiple skiing and snowboarding locations, and several state parks all within a 45 min - 1 hour drive from the home.

The large kitchen is fully stocked for guests who want to cook large meals or grill outside and use the updated pine dining table or the dining area on the deck.

Our home has a large upper and lower deck. During good weather a large patio dining area accommodates those who want to cook and eat outside and relax with beverages on either deck. Beautiful outdoors views to enjoy morning coffee, the sunrise, a beverage of your choice at sunset, or have a BBQ with the family on the grill. (Itā€™s charcoal.) Off the patio is a yard large enough for many games at once.

For those who prefer to relax inside, there are large TVs in the living room and in the basement game area. Both offer Roku, Netflix and Amazon via the smart tv apps for an exhaustive list of movies and additional channels for tv watching. Ideal for scenarios where adults and children may want to simultaneously watch different options.

In the basement, workout equipment, and another tv entertainment area offer separate space for guests. Guest can walkout from the basement onto the lower deck and exit the home into the large yard into Summit Lake. As people come back inside via the lower deck and basement they is space to drop off dirty clothes and swimsuits into the laundry room for easy access.

The kitchen was spacious and had a nice counter with stools. The only thing we suggest adding would be a toaster. The living room was very comfortable, which we appreciated during our first couple of days when the rain was heavy. The view from the deck and from the inside table was superb, with the lake and fall color.

Beautiful home

This house was perfect for our stay in the Cobleskill area. It was just about 10 minutes from town and we went back-and-forth several times for our son's graduation. Might even consider coming back when the weather is nicer to enjoy the area.

Time with Grandchildren

House, clean, well appointed, basement perfect for teenagers. Lake, great fishing for the grandkids, Kayaking for everyone. My son complimented the house on our first night, Daughter and Wife praised it on our last day. "Nicest place we've stayed in. "Kitchen perfect for people who like to cook". Three of four grandkids elected to stay and fish turning down a trip for ice cream. I want to stay there again. Far from somethings, but the grandkids never noticed. Take the Milford rail car ride, huge hit with the family.

Perfect family stay

We loved the location, the lake, the layout of the home and the DECK!! Loved that our dog could be out on the deck and it was enclosed. We appreciated the stocked kitchen and refrigerator and paid it forward by leaving goodies and dog treats behind for the next guests. We hope to stay here again soon. Our only issues were the ice maker and the troublesome washer.

Great Summer Getaway

This property was a great choice for our large family. We were visiting for our son's baseball tournament in Cooperstown. Although it was a long commute back and forth, coming back to the quiet lake house was a nice reprise.The large yard gave our kids the opportunity to run around and play. The ability to walk right onto Summit Lake was very convenient making it easy to spend some time on the water. Having reliable wifi helped me get some work done as well. The property was as described on the listing. The host was very accommodating. We had a great time!

Beautiful Home With Stunning Views

Communication with property manager was excellent. During the stay smoke from Canada rolled in, manager called me personally to make sure we knew how to use the air humidifiers provided in the home. Home held 4 couples easily. Property was extremely well stocked with pots, pans, cups, plates etc. 40 minutes from Cooperstown All-Star Village. Would highly recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Quiet and peaceful

Great views and loved being on the lake. Went fishing almost every day! Kitchen was well stocked and outdoor deck was perfect for shade and relaxing . Only PSA is knowing this house has no AC! We went in June during a heat wave apparently and it was 93 for three days, with the bedrooms being on the top floor, it was almost unbearable to sleep. Thankfully it cooled off the later part of our stay , or we might not have made it. For someone that is accustomed to AC and living in the south, it was a harsh transition with fans doing almost nothing to appease us. Lesson learned from someone that has booked many trips thru this site, but never thought to confirm if a home would have basic amenities in 2025.

Winter Wonderland!

Hands down, best VRBO weā€™ve ever stayed at. House was immaculate, owner pays attention to every detail. Bedrooms were all clean and cozy. Bathrooms clean as well. Kids (ages 15,12,11) enjoyed the spacious basement to hang out in. Decor was beautiful throughout the house. Family room with fireplace was greatly enjoyed. Large, beautiful table was used for family dinners and board games. Kitchen was well equipped. The views are stunning throughout the home. We enjoyed family sledding right on the property since there was a lot of snow. Weā€™d really love to visit in the warmer months to enjoy the lake and outdoors. Owner was in contact with me within a moments notice at any time during my stay, he was very friendly, professional and helpful.HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Destination wedding at 7 Ponds Farm

My nephew was getting married at 7 Ponds Farm in Summit and this house was the perfect place for the family to gather. As different members of the family arrived from all over the East Coast, the house became a gathering point as we all prepared for the festivities. The large deck and fire ring gave us a platform to unwind and catchup, the large table accommodated us all for meals, the man cave downstairs appealed to the younger adults who had their own time schedules. Details added to the environment and experience... my Mom enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders, and the house was stocked with many incidentals. I feel very blessed to have found such a lovely place so close to their wedding venue.

The Lakehouse

This house was right on the lake, easy to access the lake, great place to kayak and canoe. We loved it, went swimming , rented some kayaks and just enjoyed the property altogether. Saw deer , ducks, heron, and hummingbirds. Loved the deck , enjoyed playing on it.

The property is one of only a few with private lake access/frontage. The area is very calm and relaxing and the house is uniquely positioned to give guests a view of the lake as well as quick access to the water. For groups that simply want to picnic, or play in the yard between the home and the lake you can do so while maintaining privacy.
