The property lies in southern Umbria (not far from the border with Lazio and 100 Kms northern of Rome), in an area rich in nature and tourist attractions. It is the ideal place in which to spend a quiet and pleasant holiday. The property has been accurately renovated maintaining the original characteristics and is immersed in the trees. The main house has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining and living room. There is also a cottage with bedroom (double bed) and bathroom at 50 meters from the house. The property is suitable for up to 11 persons. There are also 2 baby cots and highchair at disposition. It is surrounded by a large private garden. The pool (10x5 meter) has been builded recently and is equipped with romain stairs and shower. There are also a little gym area at disposition. The whole property is for private use of the tenant. Supermarkets, baker/confectionary, bars and some other shops are available in the village of Castel dell'Aquila (at 2,5 Kms). Larger supermarkets are available in the village of Avigliano Umbro (6 Kms) and the town of Amelia (15 Kms). The nearest restaurant/pizzeria (also takeaway) is at 5 Kms just outside the village of Sambucetole. Recommended restaurants: La Gabelletta (outside Amelia on the road in direction of Foce), La Locanda del conte Nitto (in the old town of Amelia), Il ristoro del Falco (restaurant/pizzeria).

Erholungssuchende sind richtig

Die Kommunikation mit der Agentur und Francesco (Besitzer des Anwesens) war bestens. Freundlich, schnell zuvorkommend und absolut nicht aufdringlich. Es ist ein altes Haus mit vielen Winkeln und Treppen, die Cotteges hatten eigene Kühlschränke. Das Anwesens ist sehr groß, alles was in der Beschreibung steht ist vorhanden. Francesco hatte eine Kleinigkeit zum Essen und trinken vorbereitet als wir ankamen und das Haus erklärt und den Pool alle zwei Tage gereinigt. Es ist ein altes Haus und wer es edel mag ist hier falsch. Es ist rustikal, aber sauber. Die Betten und Handtücher dufteten frisch. Die Auffahrt zum Anwesen ist wie schon beschrieben, sehr abenteuerlich und mit einem tiefer gelegten Wagen würde ich nicht fahren. Aber viele Städte und interessante Orte konnte man in ca 1 Std Fahrzeiten durch toller Landschaft besuchen. Für unsere Gruppe (von 6 Monate bis 70 Jahre) war es eine tolle Zeit und wir würden wieder kommen, wenn wir mal wieder einen Familienurlaub machen.

Enjoy the delights of rural Unbria in this rustic Property

We are a group of 12 mature adults who stayed at the Property for 2 weeks, June 24th to July 8th. The area is rural and ideal for people wishing to experience the Real Umbria. We enjoyed walks on well marked routes to nearby villages as well as trips to the beautiful town of Amelia, Assisi, the Marmore waterfall and Oriveto. We had fantastic food and wine throughout our visit. There are wonderful restaurants within 15- 20 minute drive from the property. We particularly recommend the Monastreo at Fuci and San Cristoforo, Agriturismo for dinner. and for an amazing lunch you have to try Convitto in Amelia. The ultimate in our food experiences was a night at the Villa catered by Thomas Carletti and his team. He was extremely professional and a pleasure to work with every step of the way, from planning the event to the service provided on the night of the celebration. We selected a Taste of Umbria menu and the food was amazing. The quality of the ingredients along with the cooking was superb. The presentation was excellent. The Team paid great attention to detail and take great pride in their work. Their friendly, efficient approach was wonderful and contributed to the success of our evening. Another local delight was a Tasting at the Zanchi winery, where Flores made us feel so welcome and her passion for her work shone through. The villa is an authentic Umbrian residence, in a fabulous setting. Francesco was responsive to any queries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely place, needs some modernisation.

We were a family of 6 adults and two children (6 and 9 years). The property is in a beautiful location but is accessed by a very basic narrow and bumpy lane with a very sharp turn. The house is magnificent, however it is need of some work to raise its tired appearance. For example the electricity was very erratic and would switch off even when few appliances were switched on; the water also turned off on a couple of occasions and hot water for baths and showers was very limited apart from the main bedroom. Luckily the property manager was Francesco who was fantastic and saved us numerous times. The villa needed an information sheet with basic instructions on how systems worked. The hot tub was erratic and we were only able to heat it up once. The rooms and bedrooms were adequate but needed freshening up and the outdoor furniture looked a little tired. The swimming pool was fantastic, especially for kids and we made full use of the fussball! We used one of the dependences and that was very pleasant. Overall the villa is a good size in spacious grounds with fabulous views but does need updating to bring it up to standard. Thank goodness for Francesco, if he had not been available we would have rated the villa a little lower.

Schönes altes Haus mitten in Umbrien

Besonders gefallen hat uns das Ambiente des Außenbereichts mit der Außenküche, dem Pizzaofen und dem großen Pool. Ideal gelegen um Ausflüge zu unternehmen oder einfach abgelegen zu entspannen. Der Vermieter war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Relaxed en een prachtig panorama view

Het was een heerlijk verblijf. Hele hulpvaardige en gastvrije eigenaar. Fantastisch view. Genoeg koelkasten en diepvriezen. Goe, groot en schoon Zwembad. Ondanks het gemis aan airco was het een koele woning. Leuke tafeltennistafel. Goede koelkast en electriciteit bij het zwembad. Tips: Het sanitair was niet optimaal. Weinig water in lager gelegen huisje. Te weinig kook materiaal ( koksmessen etc) te koken voor een grote groep.

The villa was everything we expected, it was a beautiful Italian stone house. The pool and the scenery was superb. When we meet up with owner he gave us a lot of information and took care of us in a great way. We can really recommend this place for other travelers!

Schöne Woche bei Francesco

Das hundert Jahre alte Haus hat Charakter, aber auch viele Treppen :-) Wir haben die Stunden beim Kochen in der Outdoor Küche, beim Grillen und vor allem beim Pizzabacken sehr genossen. Francesco ist ein sehr guter Gastgeber, der immer gerne hilft und uns nicht nur 2 Pizzen samt Wasser und Wein für den ersten Abend bereitstellte, sondern mit uns sogar das Pizzateigrezept seines Sohnes teilte.

Traumhaft umbrisches Anwesen mit herrlicher Aussicht

Das weitläufige, ruhige mit Olivenbäumen und Wald bestückte ca 1,5 ha große Grundstück in Collicello bietet mit dem Haupthaus, 2 kleinen Dependancen, Pool, Whirlpool, Fitnesshäuschen u.v.m. genug, um sich 1 Woche lang bei bestem Sommerwetter kein bisschen zu langweilen und sich rundherum zu erholen. Abwechslungsreiche Rundwanderungen sind direkt ab Haus möglich. Das schon zu Römerzeit besiedelte Städtchen Amelia, ca 20 Autominuten entfernt, ist ein Ausflug wert und bietet von der Infrastruktur alles an, was man braucht: Cafés, Restaurants, Supermärkte etc. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter Francesco war unkompliziert und herzlich, bei kleineren Problemen reagierte er prompt, engagiert und lösungsorientiert. Alles hat sehr gut funktioniert, sogar das WLAN am Pool! Wir hatten viel Spaß, zum ersten Mal eine Holzofenpizza selbst im Steinbackofen herzustellen. Wir würden sehr gerne wiederkommen.

Beautiful house in the south of Umbria

We (three couples, two children) enjoyed our two-week stay near Collicello. The premises consist of one main house for eight persons and two smaller ones that each house two adults. In addition there is a hut with gym gear. There is a private pool on the estate 200 meters away from the main house which is fantatstic with an extra fridge close to the pool and lots of useful equipment. The area is beautiful and there is lots of space. Barbecue and especially the pizza oven work excellent and it is simply fun to spend time there. The only weakness is the relatively small kitchen. The landlord Francesco was very helpful and we can truly recommend the house. We rarely left the premises, but nearby Amelia and Terni are worth a trip and beaches north of Rome are close, a 90 to 120 minute drive.

A beautiful holiday home

Francesco's place was the perfect place to spend a week with a large group. The house is spacious and very characterful, with plenty of gorgeous areas to relax with friends, but also large enough for people to have their own private space. The pool area is wonderful - the poolside fridge and abundance of pool inflatables were particular added bonuses - and it feels like you're in your own personal idyllic forest. The area surrounding the villa is also great for walking/trail running. Francesco was kind and helpful and showed us plenty of things to do in the local area, including tips on attending the local village summer festivals (highly recommended) and nearby wineries and outdoor activities. He was always quick to reply if we had any questions. All in all, the perfect house in a beautiful area of Italy. 10/10.

Fijn huis in prachtig Umbrie

Hele fijne vakantie woning met een geweldige sfeer. Na een warm welkom door Francesco hebben wij een hele week genoten van het huis ,het prachtige zwembad en de mooie omgeving. Heerlijke pizza's gebakken in de pizzaoven! Verder is Amelia een geweldig mooi plaatsje. Het was een geweldig mooie week.

SECLUSION...CHARM...COMFORT

SECLUSION: Location is everything in this type of accommodation and this place is just stunning. Immersed in woods yet with a spectacular view over the valley below, there is nothing in this natural setting but peace, quiet and total privacy. After a 2 minute walk from the house one finds a clearing in the forest with only the allure of the gorgeous swimming pool...it beckons like a siren. All this in a truly beautiful countryside a few minutes from bars and 15 from the supermarket and first rate dining. CHARM: As an interior designer I loved the decoration of the interior and outdoor areas, all as inviting as that pool. The floor plan meanders on several levels creating niche like bedrooms which enhance privacy giving each occupant a feeling of autonomy. Furnishings are tasteful, simple and rustic especially the two main patios, one with tables, chairs and mountain view, the other covered, with upholstered couch, chairs and a coffee table. COMFORT: We've stayed at lovely places yet where one couldn't get a hot shower, find a corkscrew or the owners for that matter. This place really feels like home and has it all including good beds and a kitchen with every item one could imagine. We became instantly addicted to the pod capsule espresso machine--easy to use and so Italian. Finally, to our list of Italian heroes Garibaldi, Verdi and Michelangelo, we have added host Francesco whose help and warm welcome will not soon be forgotten... a thousand thanks. Lovely, peaceful spot

We had a fantastic week. The house is full of character and charm and we were particularly grateful for the large upstairs sitting room with views over the valley as had a couple of thunderstorms whilst there. The owner could not have been more helpful, and had left out wine, home made pizza and a jam tart for us when we arrived which was most appreciated! A lovely pool with loads of inflatables went down really well with the kids too. All in all, it was a great holiday, thank you.

Super villa, nice location and very nice owner!

We stayed in the house for a week and it was a wonderful experience! The house is nice and fitted us perfectly. The pool is "hidden" away from the house (though very close), which is perfect when you have small children, as you do not have to worry about them when they play outside the house. The owner was extremely nice! He gave us a warm welcome, and during our stay he was staying in another house very close to the villa and offered to help us if we had any problems. He even drove our niece (1 year old) and her mom to the doctor because the baby was not feeling well, translated what the doctor said, paid the bill because they did not have enough cash (we of course paid him back later). So that was amazing! We can definitely recommend the villa!

Amazing

We spent three weeks this summer in this house and it fit perfectly with our expectations. The house is very well equiped, the environment is nice and peacefull and the owner is full of attention and available. The pool is very big and we had a lot of fun with the kids. Thanks to Francesco, the owner, and also to the agency which was very professionnal.

Wonderful villa, setting and location

Very clean, in a superb location. Set in substantial grounds with the pool a 3 minute walk from the villa! Brilliant setting, fabulous views, quiet and remote. We would thoroughly recommend it and will definitely go again.

Absolutely Wonderful

I was tentative about renting this property because there were no reviews. I am so glad we did. The Villa was everything we expected and the whole property was enchanting. You do need a car to travel, and it is a little hard to find. We managed, however, to find it in the dark. Francesco, the owner, was waiting for us with fresh focaccia and wine. This villa has an abundance of character...stone steps, herbs and flowers covering the property and the pool was heavenly. I wished we could have chilled out at the villa more days. If you like modern, IKEA-like accomodations...this is not for you. If you want to get a taste of old Italy and enjoy your natural surroundings, this is a perfect place to stay.
