Spacious 4 Bedroom with Private Beach - West Tisbury

Our gorgeous, 3000sq ft open floor plan contemporary water view home is perched on a hill overlooking Vineyard Sound and the Elizabeth Islands. On two levels, the house is filled with light in every room. A large Chefs Kitchen was added in 2025. The large property has abundant stonewalls, hydrangas,adirondack chairs and hammocks. The deck and outdoor dining areas have water views and world class sunsets. The furnishings are updated and tasteful. The house is cooled with a new minisplit air conditioning system

There are 4 bedrooms, including 2 Masters with king beds and en suite bathrooms. The other 2 bedrooms share a bathroom. In addition, a Den/TV room has a pull-out sofa and its own private bathroom. The house allows for privacy and works extremely well for multi family/multi generational get-togethers.

Our vegetable garden, depending on the time of your stay, will provide delicious fare for your summer dinners.

The private beach is a 5 minute walk/drive along dirt roads. It's uncrowded and calm. Our 4 kayaks are there for your use.

Nearby Lambert's Cove Beach, long known as the island's loveliest white sand beach, is a short bike ride or walk (just under a mile) and is open only to tenants and owners from West Tisbury. We provide bikes and helmets.

Several local farms are minutes away.

All linens (high thread count), towels are provided as well as bikes, kayaks and beach chairs. This fantastic home is the perfect setting for a memorable family get-away!

Note - the property is sprayed for ticks during the entire spring summer season.

We came as a party of 10 (2 families with little kids) and had a wonderful week here. The house itself is beautiful and has everything you need and the kids had a blast running around the yard. The private beach made afternoons extremely low maintenance and you can’t get better than David for a landlord. He was incredibly helpful and responsive and checking in and out was a breeze. We will definitely come again!

Excellent Family Holiday

This is the perfect house in the perfect location. It's really well furnished and the four bedrooms provide great space. What made it very special for us was all the personal touches which make it feel like a family home rather than a rental. Close to 2 beaches as well as everything MV has to offer. So my advice would be, if it's available - book it!

Wonderful house

My family and I have been coming to this great place for three years - we spent a lot of years looking for the perfect place for us with our three young children, and this is it. The house has everything we love - great deck, modern ammenities, beach close by, washer/dryer and a great view. The yard is expansive and really feels like you are away from all the disctractions of everyday life. We can't wait to go back.

Gorgeous... perfect beach home

Perfection for outdoor lovers... the walkable beach and beloved Lambert's Cove access, amazing porch for ocean sunset views, hammock, kayaks... couldn't ask for more. Lovely open living space to relax. Separate bathrooms for all. Great kitchen with everything you would need. Big dining tables (inside and out) which make for a relaxing place to hang with your people and (in our case) enjoy the best takeout food which is just an easy sprint into town. David was a lovely host!

Great location, great house, just what we were looking for

Listing photo's for this home do not do it justice. It's a great vacation house, in a terrific location. Very quiet but still convenient to town. The owner is very responsive, helpful and a pleasure to work with. Would recommend it to anyone.

Secluded retreat perfect for families

The property was exactly as described. We spent two weeks enjoying the beach, the house and all the island has to offer within a short drive. Bikes & kayaks and easy walk (or drive with all the baby gear) to private beach were an added bonus! Property owners and caretakers were wonderful to deal with. Easy Check-in and check out; would absolutely stay again.

Perfect

Just the right amount of privacy without feeling isolated-short, quiet, beautiful walk to a wonderful beach and <15 minute drive to food and ‘civilization’. Well-equipped kitchen, multiple comfy seating areas, perfect bedroom setup. The gorgeous photos don’t do this justice.

Don't rent this house (please!)

Truth be told, I was conflicted about writing a review for this house...torn between wanting to sing the property's praises and (selfishly) not wanting the word to spread so much that it would make it more difficult to rent in the future! The best way to describe the house is: it's a home...permanent, lived in, cared for, comfortable. Rather than feeling like a beach rental, it feels as though you are staying at a friend's house who just happens to be away while you're there. It's nicely decorated and well stocked as if the owners spend much of their time there (thankfully for us, they don't) and will be back any minute. From the breezy open plan living room / dining / kitchen, to the sunny deck overlooking Vineyard Sound, to the cozy family room (perfect for binge watching Netfilx on a rainy day), it's a great house in which to spend your time on the Vineyard when you're not out experiencing all that the island has to offer. The four bedrooms on the lower level (including two master bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms) are comfortable and quiet with direct access to the yard and outdoor shower. Like the house, the grounds are lovely and well tended and offer a nice spot to sit and enjoy the sunset. The location in the Lower Makonikey neighborhood of West Tisbury is easily accessible to Vineyard Haven but as you drive down the gravel road to the house, you feel miles away...the best of "up island" living close to town. The quiet north shore beach is an easy 5 minute walk from the house and Lambert's Cove beach (perfect for kids) is minutes away down the road by car. So if you must rent this house, please just don't stay too long and make it harder for us!

We love this house

This is an amazing house to rent. We are going back for our third summer this year. The house is immaculate and fully stocked. The furnishings are perfect for adults and kids. And the grounds are gorgeous. We find ourselves outside in the yard a lot as it is so peaceful and quiet. The house is secluded but not isolated. You feel private but not alone. The beach is walkable, even for little ones and we spend most of our time swimming in the gentle waters. The house is close enough to stores and cafés, so it is an easy place to stay. There is an on-Island manager so if you need assistance, it is local. In sum, our family just loves the house and we hope to be here many more years. We have been coming to the Vineyard for 35 summers and this house is our favorite.

David and Ann are both Bostonians and grew up summering with their families on Martha's Vineyard. We live in California now and can't use the house as often as we would like, so we decided to put it in the rental market during the weeks we can not be there. It has been furnished and cared for as a family home not a rental.
