Sealodge E-5 is a lovely, oceanfront condominium surrounded by lush, tropical foliage and a well manicured landscape. Its location near the edge of a bluff above the coastline offers guests dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean.

Throughout the year, you may see playful dolphins having fun in the water and, during winter months, this is a perfect place to watch for awesome humpback whales playing off shore. This is a peaceful location with no condos below or above.

Relax on your private lanai amid gentle breezes and take in the panoramic vista of swaying palm trees against an expansive ocean backdrop. In the distance, you can see Kilauea Lighthouse and Mokuaeae Island to the south and Haena Point to the north.

You are truly in a tropical paradise. Relax poolside at the shared saltwater swimming pool.

There is a nice variety of restaurants and cafes right in Princeville and the neighboring town of Hanalei just a short drive away. Tempting menus offer fresh seafood, local produce and regional cuisine as well as more traditional choices.

Activities nearby include seasonal swimming, snorkeling, fishing, surfing, windsurfing, horseback riding, hiking, shopping and golf.

Please be advised, the trail to Sealodge Beach is steep and challenging. The trail gets muddy and slippery and can become dangerous. We recommend swimming at lifeguarded beaches.

Reviewer Comments: Great place in a nice location with stunning views, the property doesnā€™t have AC but itā€™s very well ventilated :)Place offers a lot of things to use on the beach like an umbrella, chairs, cooler, etc. There is a washing and drying machine, equipped kitchen and they provide mostly all the needed stuff, only missed shampoo :(Checking process was great, even though they didnā€™t answer my check out request, all the communication was clear. I defiently would recommend.

Bug Infested

We first noticed the incessant bites and itching on the second night. Neither of us wanted to admit that there was something seriously wrong because we'd invested time and money into this trip and the view from the front porch was great. But when you feel (and see) things crawling on you while you try to sleep, night after night, it quickly reaches a breaking point. They ate my girlfriend alive (figuratively... she survived)ā€”her legs were covered in bites. After two straight nights of no sleep which included one night where my girlfriend had to sleep in the back seat of our rental car, we were forced to leave and overpay for a hotel room for our last night in Kauai. Other than the bugs, the property was good. Dated, but for the price we didn't expect anything fancy. We would've been completely satisfied if it weren't for the fleas, or whatever they were. Strong word of caution against staying here. Do so at your own risk. The rental company is incentivized to get you to pay a non-refundable fee and then fight you on a refund if you ask for one after your trip is ruined by bugs. Don't expect honesty from them.

Looks good but . . .

Rating Details: The vacation rental was spotless. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo looks good at first glance, but after staying there, you find that the place really needs an update. Seating is uncomfortable, from the chairs to the sofa whose cushions are so flat, you sink down low. The refrigerator runs almost constantly and wet icicles drip in the freezer. The tiny TV is the size of a pc monitor and does not receive Netflix or similar movie channel. The lighting is poor, sometimes outlets don't work and switches aren't connected to anything. Also, there are few amenities in Princeville so you must drive 30 minutes to find more.

apartment, could need a bit of maintenance and renovation, view and quietness is great, big kitchen but no basic food as salt and pepper, coffee and a water as a welcome provided. Curtains and Security poles at the Windows are mold.

Itā€™s not the schmancy-est, but itā€™s solid, comfortable, has two full bathrooms, all the necessities for a kitchen, a washer/dryer in the unit, and beach chairs. Bonuses include the fabulous breezes from the ocean, the local birds who come to beg for food (please donā€™t feed them!), and the aerial displays from ā€˜Iwa, Tropic Birds, etc. that fly by on their way to the lighthouse.Did I mention that itā€™s a ground floor end unit with no one overhead?

Although there are several dated and worn amenities (some things really in needed of updating or replacement), this unit does afford one of the better view locations of Sealodge. Enjoy the chickens (Biff, Spike, Banana, Nugget, Carmen, Peanut, Blondie, Cranberry, Walnut) as theyā€™re good condo companions taking care of any crawling critters that can find their way into units.

It is quiet and out of the fray, yet within easy walking distance to everything in Princeville. Within a quick drive we were able to visit numerous north shore beaches (great for snorkeling), lighthouse (great for birdwatching), stare park (great for hiking), and botanical gardens.

PARADISE!

Wow. The view/lanai and the apartment ended up being above our expectations. Stayed here for five days, and found ourselves having breakfast and dinner out on the lanai each day. Just the two of us this time, but kept saying how perfect this spot would be with 1-2 kids in the upstairs area! Absolutely enjoyed our stay!
