Enjoy stunning outdoor deck space at this magical beach getaway!

Stay in our beautiful beach getaway on picturesque Bald Head Island!

The Tree House is located on secluded Middle Island with marsh, beach, & maritime forest views, and close to the BHI Sea Turtle Conservancy.

Our home has gorgeous 4,000 sq. feet of wraparound decks built to accommodate the existing trees, offering sun & shade all day long with lounge chairs, grills, & covered dining area. We hope you enjoy our marsh observation deck off of the back of the property!

The Tree House sleeps 8 people with 3 bedrooms (1 king, 2 queen) & a loft space (queen), and 3 bathrooms. The main level is an open concept living room, dining room, and galley kitchen with stainless steel appliances (please see photos).

Our home has a unique layout! Please make sure it fits your needs before you book, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

The Tree House comes with access to a private entrance to East beach just 100 yards away. We provide two 4 seater golf carts for use during your and 2 kayaks.

For an additional fee, you can purchase a temporary membership at the BHI Country Club. It offers access to the pool, fitness center, golf course, tennis, & dining options. We do not provide access to The Shoals Club.

Bald Head Island is a lovely vacation destination accessed by a short ferry ride from Deep Point Marina in Southport, NC. The Bald Head Island Conservancy hosts organized hikes and nature walks, as well as evening sea turtle excursions. While on the island, visit "Old Baldy" lighthouse & Smith Island Museum, Bald Head Woods Maritime Forest Preserve, and other historical landmarks. Enjoy paddle boarding, kayaking, wake boarding, & other water sports! Delicious food options on the island include Jailhouse Provisions, marina front Jules Salty Grub & Island Pub, Sandpiper Ice Cream & Coffee, & gourmet dining at the Bald Head Island Country Club. PET NOTES: we are dog friendly with a 2 dog limit. There is a nonrefundable $300 pet fee for additional cleaning we do after any stays that include furry friends!

Wonderful! Perfect set up for the whole family and dogs! The owners went above and beyond to accommodate us and varying situations that popped up on our end. I honestly cannot think of anything lacking. Beach supplies great, location great. The set up of the house allows for privacy at any part of the house if you wish. We felt instantly comfortable with the place. Simply great!

House was perfect!

We have a 5 year old and 1.5 year old and we had such a good time. The house was great; very well stocked with everything we needed. The porches are endless and we loved it. I wish the house had a battery blower to clean off the porches but no deal breaker. We had a blast and would definitely go back!

Great stay for Thanksgiving!

We had a great stay at the Tree House over Thanksgiving break! Location was great on a quiet part of the island and we loved the private entrance to a secluded part of East Beach! Most times we had the beach all to ourselves! Host was very responsive, we discovered the sink leaking upon arrival and she had someone over to repair the next morning. Also the porch spaces are amazing and beautiful views around the property. Will definitely be back!

Great Home in the Forest

This home has it all! It has an amazing view overlooking the marsh. It is only a few steps away to its own private beach. It is very secluded. The bedrooms are spread out, so everyone had their own space. The living area was large enough for our whole family.

Bald Head vacation

Beautiful home. Kitchen well stocked. Upon arrival dead roaches in home and fresh dog feces on porch.Views very much obstructed by trees. Limited comfortable outdoor seating. Will not likely rent again but thank owners for allowing us to stay.

30 year celebration

Although the bedrooms and kitchen are a bit small, the decks and property location more than make up for it. The view of the marsh from the front deck is incredibly relaxing. We were married here 30 years ago this October and all of our children and grandchildren joined us. The house worked out great!

Excellent stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Tree House. The owners were very kind and accommodating. The porches are amazing with gorgeous marsh views from every one. The home itself is bright and open with more than enough space for our family of four. The location on Middle Island can't be beat with private access to an uncrowded section of our favorite beachfront on the island. Would stay again!

Amazing house!

This house is amazing! Loved the location, amenities, and decor. The private access to East Beach was awesome allowing for wonderful days in the beach. Brought our pup and he had a great time as well! Thank you for a stunning vacation and we will be back next year!

Golden Girls at Treehouse!

We loved celebrating 2 special birthdays at the beautiful Treehouse. Bald Head Island in May is a friend tradition and we were very happy to stay at this incredible home. Great location on magical BHI. Myrita provided outstanding customer service and communication. We’ll be back! The Golden Girls😎

Loved the house and location

The place was perfect for our family. Many wonderful porches! Very well appointed. My daughter and her boyfriend loved having the downstairs to themselves. The beach entry led us to basically an empty beach. The entire experience was great!

Magic!

Our stay at Treehouse was as magical as the island. The owners were EXTREMELY responsive! Our cart accidentally got a flat and they had us a new cart in no time at all! The house fit 8 of us 4 adults and 4 teens well and the views were spectacular! Location was great, we visited east beach, mikes bites and conservatory within minutes! We can’t wait to come back again next year!!

Another wonderful visit

This was our third time staying at the Treehouse and it is always wonderful. The decks are great, it is always so peaceful on Middle Island and our kids love the nearby dock. We appreciated the recent upgrades, especially to the loft bed. All of the beds are comfortable, the house is always clean, and we always have everything we need for the week in the kitchen. The host was very responsive when we needed help figuring out how to work the TVs. We’ll definitely be staying at the Treehouse again in the future!

Wedding of Bo & Andrea

Our son was married at the chapel on BHI. The Tree House was perfect for our family and plus one guest assisting with our rehearsal dinner. The porches were perfect for our one year old granddaughter. (She enjoyed hugging the trees that are growing through the decks and porches.) The awesome architecture of the home is breathtaking! Being fans of wildlife and nature, we saw deer - 5 out of 7 days, an opossum, a raccoon, 4 snakes, and some giant spiders. I'm sure we would have seen more, if we hadn't been busy on other parts of the island with multiple wedding festivities. The owners were very quick to respond to questions and concerns. We will definitely book another stay at The Tree House!

Loved our stay

I booked this stay for a beachy/outdoorsy girls trip, but most of our plans were washed out by endless rain and wind. Thankfully, we had this really lovely house in which we could spend our time together. The kitchen had everything we needed, the house is spacious, there are tons of games to choose from (perfect for rainy days!). The golf carts were in good condition, and there were plenty of beach towels and chairs for a group. Myrita was great to communicate with, very quick to respond to our questions and so accommodating to our requests. We would definitely stay here again, hopefully with better weather next time so we can enjoy all the decks around the house and the beautiful private beach! :)

Island Treehouse

We had a lovely time at the Treehouse in Middle Island. The house is magical, situated above the trees with stunning marsh views. East and South Beaches are each minutes away and we enjoyed both. The outdoor decks were perfect places to hang out for drinks, dining and card playing. Truly lovely. The kitchen, though small, is absolutely fine for preparing dinner. We had read a review saying it was too small, but we did not find that to be true…and we cooked a lot! Everything in the kitchen is organized and labeled, which was extremely helpful. The rooms were nice and the showers were great. Any concerns we had were immediately addressed by the hosts. We recommend The Treehouse for your Bald Head Island stay!

In the trees!

Our family’s stay at this home met all of our needs! Being early spring, much of the outdoor amenities were in need of wiping down a bit of dust and cobwebs but it gave us a bit of time to appreciate the gorgeous expansive deck surrounding this home secluded in the trees! If you like bird watching, stargazing, relaxing with a good book or sipping a glass of wine while enjoying spectacular marsh views this home is your place. As others have mentioned, the kitchen is small but provides all of gadgets, cookware one needs for a family gathering . (It is just a bit tight). We looked forward to using the grills in order to allow for more cooking space in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the grills were not in working condition this weekend. The golf carts were in great condition. It would have been helpful to have had the ability to apply weather shields to the carts. As It was a very cold, rainy and windy Easter weekend and these would kept us warm and dry. But… We had a perfect beach day at the beginning of our stay! The home provides a key for a private boardwalk entrance to the beach a few steps away!! This was an absolute treat to have the benefit and beauty of trees, marsh and beach all in one spot!!! (Just remember to have the key on you in order to exit the boardwalk as the key is needed to unlock the door!!! Spend your time outside enjoying this beautiful property and give yourself a great reason to not cook!

Great location. House kinda funky.

House was good news/ not so good news. Good news: Owners seem very nice and responsive. The decks are huge and amazing. Sports and beach equipments is good. Private beach entrance very nice. Location is secluded and very nice. Wealthy, nice neighborhood. Not so good: The kitchen is tiny and poor. New York apartment/college student kitchen. Cramped and not worth the money being charged. To the owner: RENOVATE THE KITCHEN. Maybe bump out the back wall to enlarge the kitchen? YOU CHARGE THAT MONEY AND PROVIDE THAT KITCHEN? also... its clear the decks are so large they take away from the size of the house. The master is nice, but the two other upstairs bedrooms are tiny and, well, poor. No individual bathrooms. House way too small for the money. Poorly designed, with multiple stairways taking up too much space. As I said, spectacular decks, but the decks are TOO big. Overall: Depends what you like. You like a big, fancy house? This house is not for you. Like a very nice and secluded location? Then house is OK.
