Great stay

We had a great couple day stay. Everyone enjoyed the location and the property. The pond is well stocked. Only recommendation would be another tv. There is only one downstairs.

Snow covered Bluegrass New Years

Great location to gather together to ring in the new year! Close to Blackwater, Davis and Thomas WV - we explored works from great artists and stomped our feet to the music of the Plate Scrapers. Enjoyed sleeping in and waking up to snow covered lake views. (Only hiccup was non heating hot tub and no dumpster for trash.)

The curb appeal is nice, house was cleaned, adequately furnished, however if you're stay is in the summer the one air conditioner unit do not sufficiently cool the second and third floors, you will need a fan. The back deck furniture could use an upgrade and a good power washing...Btw the trash dumpster is at the rental office

This property is gorgeous; the pictures don't do it justice. We were a larger group and had thanksgiving here. The cooking utensils and dishes were plenty; we were able to prepare a large meal easily. The hot tub was easy to use. There were plenty of board games and entertainment in the house. The roku on the downstairs tv gave us access to hulu and netflix. The beds were clean and well made; there were plenty of towels. We especially appreciated how homey and welcoming the residence feels. I've stayed in plenty of rentals but this one felt like I was home. The property is secluded if you just want to hole away for a few days; town is also only 10 minutes away if you need supplies and groceries. Plenty of state parks nearby to go hiking and enjoy nature. We didn't go skiing this time around, but they have that nearby as well. Staff was friendly professional and informative. There really is SO much to do in and around this home, I have no complaints. Oh, youtube how to operate a gas fireplace and you'll be able to use the two fireplaces easily. All in all, this place is great for a large gathering. It's memorable and we'll definitely return. The team was cordial and professional. They were friendly and informative.

Family Getaway to Woodland Pond

Our family frequents the Davis/Thomas/Canaan Valley area quite often, but this was our first stay at Woodland Pond. The house was beautiful and accommodated our large group of eleven easily. It was wonderful to sit on the back porch and watch our children fishing and canoeing to their leisure. It truly made for a relaxing weekend. However, upon arrival we noticed that the main and upper levels of the house were very hot (78 - 80 degrees), and did not seem to be cooling down despite the AC being on. We noticed that the unit was set to 45 degrees! Naturally, the AC unit was completely frozen and not functioning properly. We contacted the rental service immediately. They sent a technician within minutes. However, there was nothing he could do to remedy the situation. We were advised to shut off the AC to thaw naturally and then hopefully the unit would work. It never did. Luckily, the outside temperatures were not too unbearable and we were able to open the windows and screened doors to allow the mountain air to filter throughout the house. Also, we were not given any chemicals to add to the hot tub/spa., nor were there any in the tub upon arrival. After a long weekend of constant use, the water was quite cloudy and even turning green.

Excellent location for seeing fall foliage

This is a very comfortable home for friends and family of many ages to enjoy. However, there are no beds on the main floor although there is a half bath. Two bedrooms are upstairs, each having an attached bathroom with showers, no tub. Two bedrooms are downstairs with a shared hallway bathroom that does have a tub.

It’s a nice place, needs a bit more maintenance, the price is too high for what you get- too many hidden fees. Almost two hundred bucks for lots of dust everywhere, and $80 damage waiver and $50 hot tub fee are excessive and non refundable even when you cause no damage and can’t use the hot tub the whole time. I had very few interactions, I called due to trouble with my browser on their website. I was told that they don’t use iPhones and had no idea how to help. Was supposed to receive an email with property options and never got it. I later received emails once I had paid to the accommodations. The answering machine/ system needs to be fixed so that people can leave messages. When the man came out to fix the hot tub, I was given no notice or heads up prior via email or phone call.

Beds comfortable and many things helpful such as starter soaps and paper goods, even spices and coffee filters and a jig saw puzzle! Everyone was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. It was very easy to work with you and all the paperwork was handled quickly, efficiently and professionally. Thank you!
