Great family beachview condo ~ Low-rise complex

Sandpiper is a low density three story complex. Its unique V shape building and shared common area walkway in front of each condo lends to a friendly get to know your neighbor atmosphere. Family reunions, large groups of people traveling together and individual families choose this property often. The tropical courtyard, seasonally-heated swimming pool (mid-March through October, as needed) and grilling areas give Sandpiper an ambiance all its own. It is a highly requested property and has the most repeat guests.

Perfect Condo for a Golf Trip

The rooms are open to the outside and in close proximity. The pool is large enough to accommodate everyone and the beach is a few easy steps away.

You may want to consider staying on the top floor so you don't have to hear all the noise from the unit above all night long.

Another great week at the Sandpiper

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We come back every year and this year wasn't much different. It is a great place to stay and we didn't run it many problems. I think the appliances need to be updated, (took a while for the fridge to get cold and the oven took a very long to heat up) but overall it was good. We got into a disagreement with the security guard and he called the cops. I'm not saying we were perfect, but I think the situation could have definitely been handled differently. There was zero reason to get the police involved. Past years have been much nosier, but we got into the most trouble this year, which didn't make sense to me. But again, we will be back and I had a great time.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have stayed here many times in the past. I would say that this particular condo definitely needs some updating. The kitchen is well stocked but the ice maker did not work and the baseboard on the cabinet was falling apart. The guest bath had a toilet scrubber filled with "dirty" water and smelled awful. I purchased bleach and soaked it so that I didn't have to smell it. The dryer I had to run 3 times in order to dry a small load. The master bed was very uncomfortable and had a spring poking thru. The couches were very saggy and uncomfortable as well. I will stay again but not in this unit. I love the area as I have for many years. I would recommend but as I stated, not this unit.

This condo needs updated, loved the location or I would rate lower. Could not use chest of drawers in room with one bed, there was no since in watching tv it would not work right, tv was on but to many remotes use one turn on one for volume changing channel??? There is an old phone in room-have no idea why they just don’t remove it from room it isn’t a working phone. If I did stay at this condo again I would like to see if the others are updated. Could not use chest of drawers because was afraid drawer would fall out on my feet. One chair in living area was so dirty needs to be cleaned or removed. Had to wipe off all the balcony furniture before we could use they were dirty also. Again location was great.

Perfect Condo for a Guy's Trip

Reviewer Comments: Great location and the condo had everything we needed for the beach including chairs, toys, a tent, etc. The AC went out during our stay but the property management sent someone out right away to fix it. They were great to work with! The condo being outdated does not bother me because we mostly hung out in a neighbor's condo for meals. The carpeting is nice with little kids and sand, but it felt like some areas were uneven and might be rotting underneath. The beds were horrible and felt like you were sleeping on a 2 x 4. I would not rent this specific condo again for that reason and would look at another one at the Sandpiper.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time in Gulf Shores and at our stay at Sandpiper 14B. The unit is very nice and well equipped. The location, directly over the pool, is ideal. As wonderful as it is, there are a few things that need taken care of, although they are minor in comparison to the overall niceness of the unit. The A/C filter needs changed badly. It's completely covered with a thick layer of dust and is probably effecting the efficiency of the unit. The gadgets in a drawer in the kitchen is well stocked, but the can opener does not work well at all, and that's something that's needed if you cook often. Also regarding the kitchen, the stove could be upgraded. It is functional, but is not very appealing, and with that being a fairly large expense, I can see where they might want to hold off as long as it works good. Another small thing, there is a light over the shower in the master bath, but it does not work. I assume it's just a bulb out since there are only 2 switches and one operates the other light and the 2nd operates the exhaust fan. Again, these things are not meant to be critical of the unit, it is very nice; just a few things I noticed that might be addressed to make it a little better. Still loved the stay!

Reviewer Comments: This place worked very well for our large group because the layout surrounding the pool(small)but fine,,Cookout area worked great,,Some rooms needed updated but ours was fine,,liked the keypad entry,,only complaint was the maint,security would knock and walk in or look thru window to see if anyone was home??? They were working in the next unit and we heard very little of their activity. In fact, we heard more of the activity from the unit above us. The only thing on our wish list would be that our pets could join us. We'd book a month if that could be arranged.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at Sandpiper as part of a family reuniuon. The location was wonderful, and the unit was spacious and gave us plenty of room. It was great to have a washer and dryer in the unit so we could do laundry during the week. The view of the beach was great. The icemaker in the freezer wasn't working, however, so we did have to go and buy a bag of ice.
