Great place to relax and unwind
Spent 2 weeks here--2 adults, 2 kids and our dog. More space than we needed, but the private pool during Covid was the draw. Overall great experience. Loved the Island and the quiet streets. Loved sitting on the deck listening to waves and watching for dolphins to surface.
PROS:
Collins Mgmt was very responsive when we had questions or concerns. Pool was very clean. Furniture and flooring appeared to be fairly new. Yard was nicer than most in the area, it had actual landscaping, plants, trees, flowers where most of the neighbors just let the natural grasses grow wherever. Screened porch and picnic table, both with views of the beach/ocean were awesome. Bathrooms were clean, water pressure was strong, beds comfortable, new mattresses and sheets. Big TVs, strong internet signal---we worked and did some online school while there (at least 120dn/20up with high end router). Kitchen well stocked. New fridge, good ice maker. New vacuum we used to clean up sand once in a while. During our 2 weeks, someone cleaned the pool 3-4 times, bug guy sprayed outside, lawn guys mowed and pulled weeds, gas company refilled pool heater. Well taken care of and effort shows.
CONS: Disappointments were that the pool heat was not working when we arrived, so it was very chilly the first couple days. But once we called Collins, they had someone out within hours and it warmed up soon. The hot tub worked the first couple days, so we used it when getting out of the cold pool. But then the hot tub stopped heating and was out of service the remainder of our trip. Collins was transparent and explained that parts had been ordered before we arrived for a known issue. The pans and silverware were 1 star--takes longer to clean the pans than cook the food. Stovetop controls worn off to where you have to guess at heat level. Gas grill was usable, but needs a good cleaning and some replacement parts. Being in a humid seaside climate, I imagine it's hard to keep mildew off the house, but the deck and vinyl siding could use some power washing.
Love the front views toward the ocean and the backyard oasis. Outdoor shower, Trex chairs, greenery and shaded areas around the pool added to the experience. We are already discussing when to return to this property. Thank you for sharing your home.
