Your Private Paradise

Situated on 100 acres of lush farmland in the hills of Rincon, lies Casa en lo Alto. This guest house sits atop a hill on the private "finca" or small farm, Finca Joya Brava. Views from the house are 360 degrees; down to the beach, over to the mountains, the rolling green landscape, and the fruit and avocado trees. Depending on the season, guests can enjoy boundless organic tropical fruits and avocados. The property is unique to Rincon in that it offers a level of privacy unmatched anywhere. Additionally, Rincon's best swimming beach is just a few minutes drive away. The guest house itself takes full advantage of its surroundings, with an expansive screened in porch affording views and the best of indoor/outdoor living year round. Thoughtfully stocked kitchen with all stainless steel appliances and gas stove. Guests can also enjoy a relaxing spa-like experience in our over sized fully tiled soaking tub. The house has it's own water heater so hot water is never an issue. Additionally, Casa en lo Alto come with full air conditioning should you prefer it. Concierge services are also available for you should you desire them. Any number of services can be arranged: from private massages and yoga/pilates sessions, to sailing, snorkeling and parasailing, to grocery delivery and catering services. You will not leave Casa en lo Alto unsatisfied. No pets allowed. Please enjoy smoking, but only in the outside areas. Must be 25 years or older and present to rent this house. 4 night minimum stay & 7 night stay required for major holidays. Please email for availability! House occupancy is 7 people maximum. Payment accepted in check form only at this time.

This place was great! Very close to the restaurants and beach but still secluded. It is situated on a farm with all sorts of fruit trees, specifically the mango tree right out back provided us with fruit every morning. The netted in back patio was fantastic and we listened to the birds chirp and the mangos fall, both equally delightful, while drinking our coffee in the morning and our wine in the evening. There is a small pond with lots of very friendly turtles and a refreshing pool to relax in on the property as well. We had no communication issues, the beds were super comfy, the kitchen was well stocked with utensils etc as was the bathroom. They had two coolers, two beach chairs, and an umbrella for us to use at the beach, which was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Home was beautiful, it had everything we needed. The hosts were beyond welcoming and helpful. You are less than 5 minutes from everything in town and beautiful beaches. my kids loved the pool, and I loved the porch! Downstairs bed is VERY comfortable. The only downfall is the house is directly by the road and can get quite noisy, but we got used to it!

Only lost a star because the place was not prepared for our arrival and we had to contact VRBO in the middle of the night to get in, but the host was accommodating and gave us a partial refund. Otherwise, the place was great. Tastefully decorated. Kitchen was stocked very well with equipment and supplies including ample spices to cook with. Lovely views from the elevated porch with a great hammock. Mango and avocado trees right on the property! Easy access to grocery and beaches while being far enough away from the bustle. Would stay here again.

Peaceful paradise

We loved everything about our stay here. The guest house was clean, comfortable, and very well stocked. The porch was such a peaceful spot to both begin and end each day.

The home was fully stocked with more than any other place we stayed. The microwave was above our heads but they provided a small step stool. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. It would have been helpful to know where to park our car. The driveway area was a little busy with the neighbor that was below. The book about the property had many helpful details but the WiFi network and password did not work. I emailed the contact person but never received a response. That’s the only negative I have on this property.

Wonderful

Beautiful oasis, high quality amenities. Whoever designed the house knew their stuff. Enjoyed large deck, comfy bed, generous cooking facilities, feel. Grounds are tranquil. Power went out over most of PR for a couple of days - generators automatically kicked in and diesel was kept topped up. Highly recommended. Thank you so much will be er forget.

Best Stay, I Will Be Back!

This is the best VRBO-slash-private home I've ever stayed at. It is beautiful, the grounds are lush and peaceful, and the house is well stocked with many kitchen gadgets, spices, utensils, etc. The bed is comfortable and I appreciated the choice of 3 different kinds of pillows. The screened in porch is amazing, sitting there watching birds was so fun. I also spent time on the dock on the lake, and the pool looked so inviting. Location was perfect, so close to town and stores, but far enough to get away from traffic and any kind of bustle. Like others have mentioned, communication is minimal at best but that was fine with me. It's totally worth it. Wish I had stayed longer and can't wait to go back!

Great place to stay in Rincon

My partner and I stayed here over New Years weekend. We really enjoyed the peaceful and quiet location of the house in the hills above the town of Rincon. It is an easy drive of 10 min to get to the plaza of Rincon. The screened in porch with a hammock is a great place to relax after a day of exploring the beaches in the area. There is ac but we didn't end up using it as there is a very effective ceiling fan system in the house and on the porch. The bed is very comfortable and the house was set up nicely. The owners and manager were both easy to get a hold of and made setting up the rental very easy and stress free. We only cooked breakfast at the house and ending up eating all our other meals out. I didn't think the kitchen pots/pans and knives and utenstils were in the same caliber as the rest of house amenities. Perhaps that is because most people eat out. So the only thing I could think that could be greatly improved upon is in that area. It didn't affect our visit as we enjoyed eating out. The fridge, appliances and grill are very nice and new.

Peaceful Setting

This house, and the grounds, are what we were looking for - a clean and nicely appointed house with a distant view of the ocean. We spent most of our time hanging out on the large screened-in porch. The owners invited us to walk around the property including going down to their pond's dock. We spent time birdwatching, and were able to pick avocados.

Enchanting stay in the Rincon hills

Our experience parallels the previous reviews for this posting. This property and house are amazing. The forest views and huge screened porch were a definite highlight of our trip to Puerto Rico. Correspondence with the property manager took additional effort, but everything worked out in the end, and it was worth it!

Absolutely perfect setting in the hills above Rincón. Fabulous screened in porch where we spent most of our time when at home. Great for watching sunrises and torrential afternoon downpours. We all loved the porch. Angel, the go-to guy for technical issues, was an Angel. Online manager was a little flaky — had to ask several times about how to get into the house. Also never responded to my question about how / what to recycle. But I would stay here again!! So that the bottom line.

Loved the place. Mostly secluded (it is on the road, but there's not heavy traffic), but very close to town. The interior is very modern, but the best part of this house is the screened patio/deck space, for sure. I enjoyed sitting out there and listening to bird songs in the morning (including the occasional rooster), and various creatures at night. The road to the place is somewhat narrow and meandering (like many roads in Puerto Rico), but you're a very short drive from dining, coffee, bars, and the beach. Great blend of privacy and town-accessibility.

Beautiful views!

The screened-in porch, acres of land, proximity to beaches and ease of arrival made this home a perfect vacation setting for my family. The pictures don't do it justice; the home was stunning. The host was quick to answer any questions I had. I would definitely stay here again.

We LOVED the house and all it's surroundings. We enjoyed afternoon walks around the property, the beautiful views and the screen porch.My daughters loved the loft setting of their beds. Can wait to visit again.
