Traditional Spanish villa in tranquil settings with large private gardens and large heart shaped pool with two large sun deck . Many terraces overlooking orange groves and mountains with panoramic views. 10 minute drive from the blue flag beach of Gandia, with shops, restaurants and bars, 10 minutes drive from Barx, 3 minutes drive from Marchuquera village with lovely Spanish restaurants & bars all run by locals , food is delicious & very cheap. Has lovely little Church with a very friendly congregation . Mass then a beer in the cafe next door always goes down well with visitors .Mass 11.15 Sunday mornings. Car essential, parking within villa property for 5 cars. Property completely walled so very secure. Recently all new kitchen , bathrooms in 2020 all new windows , doors & screens all outdoor furniture which inc dinning table & chairs ( sits 14 persons) .large L shaped sofas & sun loungers , 2 fatboy bean bags , two hanging basket chairs,pergola with sofas & tables. New beds & bedroom furniture . All new kitchen ware ( completely stocked with food processor, blender, smoothie maker , three toasty sandwich makers . Toasters , dulce gusto coffee machine . Coffee percolators . New in 2017 one additional downstairs double bedroom with patio doors directly on to patio with n suite & A/C. ( suitable for elderly with mobility issues as Ramps were installed to access & exit areas everywhere downstairs ( disabled toilet seat also available on request .The A/C is in All the bedrooms & the upstairs office, the bedrooms also have in addition to A/C for anyone who doesnt like A/ C , separate ceiling fans. Great for cycling & hill walking. The restaurant on the square in Bars does the best Pizza ever, I would highly recommend it. There are lots of games, DVD,s & books for your use. There is a hair dryer but bring your own beach towels. Towels not to be removed from villa . Cool box & pic-nick basket in kitchen for use at the beach. Two Fridge freezers & separate bottle fridge .
There are three bathrooms with 3 separate showers & two baths & one outdoor pool shower.

Villa Mar
This was a perfect setting for our family get together for my husbands 70th birthday celebrations. The grandchildren very much enjoyed the pool and we all loved the relaxed and spacious villa, safe and extensive garden and wonderful Mountain views.

Casi genial!!
Ha sido una experiencia agradable. La casa está genial, pero hay dos cosas que fallan. Baño en la planta baja (solo hay uno escondido y pequeño) y las avispas de la piscina. El resto genial. TV enorme, la piscina es más grande de lo que parece, cocina muy equipada (nos hemos dejado un cuchillo de cortar jamón :(). La recomiendo, aunque ojalá sin avispas. Picotazos 5/10 personas Hablan los huéspedes inglés. Saludos!!

Wonderful stay
The house and its surroundings were very nice. The road next to the Vila has traffic and it’s quite noisy even at night, but weren’t bothered too badly. We were a full house (14 people) and the house was definitely created for big groups except when it comes to the sleeping situation. The house has two bedrooms with air conditioning and the rest of the bedrooms has fans. People couldn’t sleep from the August heat in the bedrooms with just a fan. Otherwise we had a wonderful time and we would definitely come back (especially with more air conditioning)! The communication with owner and key holder was good.

Perfect house for group of friends and kids
The house is well equipped: kitchen is big with 2 fridges, a good oven, a good dishwasher and many other small appliances Vast living room although we spent most of our time outside Wifi was efficient enough All rooms have ceiling fans. Swimming pool was key in the heat we enjoyed it a lot!! A few things to keep in mind: only 2 bedrooms have AC the other don’t and there are no real shades/blinds in most of them making it tricky to keep them not too hot. Many wasps outside - be equipped in case they sting you. The house’s location is perfect: amazing beaches nearby, very easy to get to Valencia or Xativa (which we recommend!). The region is really gorgeous.

Cuidado con las avispas y los cargos sorpresa
La casa en general está bien aunque echamos de menos que hubiera jabón de manos en alguno de los baños para poder asearnos mínimamente al llegar. También nos hubiera gustado que hubiese algún ventilador extra para las habitaciones pequeñas porque los que durmieron ahí pasaron demasiado calor. Quitando eso la casa está en muy buenas condiciones. Una cosa que si nos gustaría puntualizar es que la piscina tiene literalmente cientos de avispas. Es una información que creo que deberían poner en el anuncio ya que de haber sido alguno alérgico habríamos tenido problemas porque todos nos llevamos algún picotazo. Al preguntar sobre alguna opción a la persona que nos entregó las llaves nos dijo que eso es lo que había y que no tenían alternativas. Por último, a pesar de que el equipo de limpieza se sorprendió de lo limpia que dejamos la casa cuando ellos llegaron, la dueña intento cobrarnos un extra por dejar "basura por ahí tirada" que luego resultó que eran las bolsas de basura que estaban en los cubos después de recoger. Esos cargos por supuesto no figuraban en ninguna parte del anuncio. Nos sorprendió negativamente esto último porque hasta el momento las conversaciones con ella habían sido totalmente cordiales.

Beautiful Villa in stunning location
We had a wonderful week in this beautiful villa. The rooms were spotless and facilities fantastic. One of the best things about this villa was the multitude of places to sit - on the terrace, under the pergola, under a huge umbrella or just next to the pool. There was always somewhere shady to sit. The fans in the rooms were useful in keeping the temperature down but ideally air conditioning in all rooms would rate this villa 5*. At times the heat in August is unbearable for nighttime. The check in process was easy and I could always contact very quickly. We needed to see the doctor whilst there and was recommended the hospital where the care we received was excellent. Please be aware that this is a very Spanish area - hardly anyone speaks English. Make Google Translate your friend! The locals are very friendly, and were helpful to us when we needed it. Wonderful villa and would definitely book again if we re-visit this stunning part of Spain. Thanks Brigid! 😀😀😀

It’s a beautiful house very nice pool, We had a wonderful holidays at the Villa. The house is very private and has a pretty kitchen. I suggest to install three more air conditioners on the others bedrooms it was fians but I wasn’t enough it was very hot. The others bedrooms had air conditioning it was wonderful!. July stay Villa Mar
We had a lovely stay with friends and family to celebrate a big birthday. Location was lovely set in rural area near Gandia. Villa was very well equipped and exceptionally clean, however with air con in only 2 bedrooms sleeping was exceptionally difficult. Also be aware that there is a wasp problem. Whilst we were nervous to start with and a couple of our party did get stung it didn't detract too badly from the beautiful pool and garden. Great location for seeing other places in the area.

We had our entire family come visit Gandia from Chicago. It had everything that we needed and we enjoyed cooling off in the pool when we weren’t exploring the beautiful beaches and the town of Gandia. We loved it!

la casa en general está muy bien, no le falta de nada, tanto en el interior como en el exterior, una buena zona para pasar unas tranquilas vacaciones, sin embargo, en la zona de la piscina hay muchas avispas y en nuestro caso la mesa del patio exterior estaba defectuosa y tuvimos varios incidentes porque se nos caían las cosas al volcarse por no estar bien sujeta, como una fuente de comida llena. Es una zona donde hay que acceder con coche hasta ella, al no llegar el transporte público.

Super séjour, très belle villa, problème: beaucoup d’abeilles en terrasse et l’hôte laisse à desire
Pour commencer, la villa est splendide le mieux est très calme, très reposant. Le petit moins c’est que en plein milieu de la terrasse et tout au long de la piscine il y a énormément d’abeilles, un nid entier je ne parle pas d’une dizaine ou vingtaine, mais peut être d’une centaine. Mauvaise expérience aussi c’est que l’hôte n’est vraiment pas adapté à ce jour de location. Elle vient à l’improviste au moins 3 fois sur 10 jour, il y a eu des coupures d’eau au moins 4 fois sur 10 jours et d’électricité 1 fois en 10 jours. A la fin de la location elle nous demande une énorme sommes d’argent en caution sans même passer par l’application Abritel. Mais sinon la villa est superbe.

La casa está muy bien, pero la dueña ha ido todos los días sin avisar, a dejar dejar cosas en el garaje... No hay nada de privacidad. Los mosquitos insoportables, más de 40 picaduras cada uno. En la piscina hay muchísimas avispas, pero no pican.

Amazing villa in a stunning location!
A group of us stayed at the villa near Gandia in late July ,7 adults and 4 children. The villa is huge and has all the amenities you could need, pair that with a stunning location and you have an amazing package. The kids loved the pool and there is loads to do within a few short drives, I would recommend the water park at Cullera (Aquapolis). The beach at Gandia is immaculate and there are loads of great restaurants and bars. Step away from the touristy front and you can eat amazing food at a great price. (€140.00 for 11 people) !! Drive to the local cafes and restaurants in Barx and Simat to experience real Spain. Two of us are into our cycling and we hired a couple of road bikes from Gandia, the mountains surrounding the villa are a Mecca for cyclists, great climbs and stunning scenery. I would give the villa and area 9/10, the only negative is the lack of air conditioning, with temperatures hitting the high 30’s we all found it difficult to get a good nights sleep. John the caretaker was really helpful on arrival and is on hand if you need anything. It’s only a 90 minute drive from Alicante which is worth it for a traditional Spanish holiday. Matt Newman

Fantastisch verblijf voorzien van alle gemakken.
Wij hebben enige tijd met kinderen en kleinkinderen onze intrek genomen in de villa. Wat wij aantroffen beantwoordde volledig aan onze wensen. De riante slaapvertrekken, de goed geoutilleerde keuken, de prachtige tuin, het zwembad maakten dat wij ons verwend voelden. Na een dagje strand in Gandia relaxen op het terras, de kinderen en kleinkinderen in het zwembad, de bbq ‘s avonds in een heerlijke temperatuur (half juni), een bezoek aan Valencia, compleet met fietstocht door het park en bezoek aan het historisch centrum, op dat alles kijken wij met veel plezier terug. We komen zeker een keer terug.

Perfect Villa with postcard setting!
We travelled from Alicante airport in hire vehicles to the Villa, which was a good way to get there. A car is essential for your stay at this Villa. What can i say, we pulled up into the drive and we were really happy with what we saw. Great looking Villa, great garden and awesome swimming pool. We were then greeted by the friendly Villa caretaker called John. Who ran us through the villa and explained how some of the utilities worked and closest shops etc. John told us that he will be cleaning the pool on Wednesday, he wont bother us and will just pop in and clean and then leave. He stuck to his word but we had to have a chat with him as he is a great bloke with a lot of local knowledge that we required whilst travelling around. As he left on the first day he also said that any problems even if so small to just contact him by the Villas telephone and he would be here within 20 minutes. We also tried his paella that he cooks as a hobby, it was great and worth trying. Back to the Villa, it swallowed our large family of 12. We had everything we required for the 2 weeks stay, even down to metal skewers to make our own skewered kebabs for the BBQ. The BBQ is awesome a massive gas BBQ which we used on many occasions it suited the outdoor lifestyle and our needs whilst we were there. The kitchen is well equipped too, being typically English we had a Roast dinner one day and had all what we needed for this. The garden and swimming pool was our base for the holiday and we found this to be great, enough sun loungers, great pool to cool off and enough seating for us all when we decided to sit down to eat. The views of the mountains from the garden are idyllic, its a dream location and a dream Villa. Very clean, top quality furniture just a very nice place to stay for our holiday. However there was one negative being English and from a cold climate, this Villa could do with Air conditioning. A few very hot nights we did find ourselves uncomfortable whilst sleeping. (Spain is hot!!) I would highly recommend this Villa to stay you will not want for more than what is provided.

Everything we wanted and more.
The only decision we got wrong at Villa Mar was we should have stayed longer! This is a beautiful, private, well kept, spacious and relaxing villa living up to all our expectations and more, a lovely place to spend time with the whole family. The views of the mountains were breath taking and we were still only 15 - 20 minutes from the lovely beaches at Gandia. A car is definitely needed to allow complete flexibility as well as allowing you to enjoy and explore the region. Carrefour and Lidl are only 15 minutes away as are many other shops. There are many good local restaurants to enjoy both in Barx and Gandia, although we spent most of our time as a family eating on the terrace of the villa. The pool is without doubt a bonus for everybody, a nice size allowing you to enjoy a good swim if you are an early riser and want some exercise, whilst large enough to enjoy good family games, smaller children who cannot swim need to be supervised. We were welcomed by Jon and Ann, who without doubt helped us settle in much more quickly, what a great couple, nothing is too much for them and they are always there to help or offer suggestions in order to make your holiday much more relaxing. Jon's Paella is a must - one of the best we have ever tasted. Being in Spain you have to put up with what Spain has to offer, so leaving food around will only attract whatever creatures want to get to it, so if you do not want any ants just ensure you use containers and shut the peddle bin tightly. Our thanks to Brigid, Jon & Ann for an excellent family holiday.

Beautiful villa.Highly recommended.
We stayed in this fantastic villa for 12 nights and would highly recommend it.The villa is very well equipped ,comfortable and very clean.Great kitchen.The huge terrace area has plenty of sunbeds and seats and we enjoyed many meals and relaxing evenings on the terrace.The outside area,pool and hammocks were thoroughly enjoyed.The villa is very well looked after.The mountain and forest views are stunning.Gandia beach is great-sandy and clean.Carrefour and Lidl in Gandia makes shopping easy.A car is definetly needed. We were looked after so well during our stay by Jon who was very friendly and helpful.We arrived late at night to the villa and having the welcome pack was brilliant.It is such a peaceful relaxing place to be yet the town and beach is only a 10 minute drive away. We didn't want to go home !! Thanks Brigid and Jon

Lovly villa but a very rural location
This is a beautiful and spacious villa and the interior, pool and gardens are lovely and gave our party of 8 (one child) a place to chill and call their own. The local mountains views are breath taking and all balconies in the villa have a beautiful vista. The villa is exceptionally well kept and John and Ann could not be more helpful; especially seeing we had quite a bad ant problem during the whole of our stay (both upstairs and down - which was surprising seeing no food was ever taken upstairs during our stay). To enjoy this villa you MUST have a car as the rough guide of how far you are away from local towns and amenities we found to be much more than quoted. We tried at least twice to 'walk' to the nearest restaurant down the hill but this was not suitable for many in our party and a large part of the route has no footpath - which could be quite dangerous. Therefore if you like to have somewhere to walk out to of an evening then this maybe a consideration. This villa really does need air con - as the ceiling fans in two of the bedrooms provided no relief in August and the stand alone fans in the other three rooms much less. This made sleeping for everyone exceptionally difficult and really must be considered for that 5th star. We as a family would have welcomed a safe; as we have been broken into in a villa in Portugal and whilst we appreciate this villa is very safe and has a proven track record - it is also about giving guests that peace of mind. This is a beautiful tranquil spot in a real part of Spain but just to be aware you can't do much without a car.

Hi, Im 55 year old,married & living in Dubai. I used to have my own marketing business which I sold and bought properties. I go to Spain & Tenerife at the beginning of each season to do a complete clean from top to bottom, I prefer to do this myself as no one tends to clean as well as I do. I am a complete clean freak. I make a list of things to be repaired or replaced, this is done at the beginning of a season. I would not rent to anyone less than I would expect myself. I have very high standards & my properties reflect this. I have never had one single complaint & I have people returning year on year (this speaks for its self. I love both places for different reasons.I love the tranquility however like the fact if you want shopping & night clubs you can also do just 15 min away.

I had looked all over Spain & decided on this area because it was well located for many amenities. Benidorm, Terra Mittica, water parks, Valencia,which I would recommend you do by train from Xraco or Gandia. The beaches are the nicest you will find in Spain, the mountains are just breathtaking, I would recommend you take a walk up the mountain at the back of the house as on a clear day you can see the sea. This is the real Spain not just tourist. The neighbours behind the villa are Nicky & Hose. They are good friends of ours. They also hold a key to the villa. Nicky is English, Hose Spanish thus you will have no language barriers. You have the tranquillity of the Mountains with the wonderful fresh air & smells from the orange groves all around. The villa is completely secluded but not isolated as you have about 30 villas in the urbanisation, but all sit in about 1 acres of ground thus you have no one looking in. However if you want the Spanish experience you go to the villages in orange groves 5 min away or a bit more in land to Rotova which is 10 mins drive through the mountains, where on route you will find a lovely monistry. If you want a more tourist feel the take yourself in to Gandia where you will find a lovely street cafe culture & Gandia beach is 10 minutes away, this is where you will find the night life & Casinos.

I love being at the Villa as I like to dine alfresco. The views from the front terrace are breathtaking. This villa has the best spot on the Urbanisation. I love to ponder in the garden & of course all I do is clean inside & outside. I am happy for 2 weeks of complete tranquillity I enjoy going cycling in to the orange groves which also has its own little Chapel. The 3 restaurants in the orange groves are all very good & great value for money. If you want Paella you must order the day before. The people are very friendly & don't speak much English. I think this adds to the Spanish experience. If you go to the Beach 10 min away by car you will find English speaking Spanish. I love this beach as very safe, very clean with plenty parking. You will find everything you want in Gandia at Carrefour.
