Discovery 4's Unit 117 has all of the comforts of home! Break away from your everyday routine and retreat to the mountains. Unit 117 has unbelievable views right from its deck.

Maximum Occupancy: This unit can accommodate up to 5 people!

Bed Arrangement: The master bedroom has a queen size bed with a flat screen TV. For additional sleeping the alcove has a set of built in bunk beds as well as a extra long couch that can be used as an additional twin.

Unit Amenities: To keep you warm during the cold winter season, relax in the living room which has wood floors and a pellet stove with temperature control (just set your desired temperature and the pellet stove will keep the condo comfortable, you do not have to worry about adding wood to the wood burning stove). free wifi in unit, Take advantage of its full size kitchen with a separate dining and entertain your family for the evening. Walk out on your very own private deck and take in the fresh air.

On Site Amenities: Walk over to the recreation room and enjoy its amenities, including coin op laundry machines, a pool table, a ping pong table, video games, a soda machine, and small reading area. At the end of your day unwind in the Jacuzzi or dry sauna which are open year round. The pool is heated from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day weekend. There are gas barbecues located in the pool area all year long.

This is not a pet unit and no smoking please.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very good stay. Nice condominium. Close to where we used to live when we lived in Mammoth Lakes 35 years ago. Condo was clean and pleasant. Had everything we needed for our time. Would recommend this condo for either a couple or small family of 4 or less. Only suggestion I can make is for Mammoth Mountain Reservations to have a sign stating when they are out of the office. Office open sign was on when we arrived but door was locked. We arrived at 3:45 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. check-in time. Office was also locked when we checked out at 9:20 a.m. with no notice. Hours posted state open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. I realize this is likely due to lack of staffing as we have similar problems in our small ski town. No complaints, simply a suggestion.

Perfect place for families

The place was perfect for families with younger children. My boys loved the bunk beds and enjoyed the open space in the back to play in the snow. The place was clean and a good home base for the mountain which is less than a mile away

Perfect setting, great location

We stayed at Discovery 4 many times in the past as a family vacation when our kids were young. We hadn't visited in several years and decided to have our adult married children revisit with their families. There were 26 of us in all and two other families had their own condos also at Discovery 4. It was wonderful having our grandkids bounce from place to place and all of us gather and grill by the poolside and play games in the recreation room. We were located in between Twin Lakes and the other lakes, it's a perfect location to be in since the Village is only a short distance in the other direction. It couldn't be more perfect! Many memories were made and we all want to come back next year! Thank you! Gurli

Dirty Carpet and failure to disclose hot tub is closed

The unit is "ok" but kind of dingy and old. It has 3 or 4 different heating mechanisms which is odd and requires constant management. The carpeting in the master bedroom is gross, more like a frat house. I know its Covid but the "Discovery 4" outdoor hot tub COULD be open (it could even have a sign-up reservation board) but since its closed, sure feels like I should have been told it was closed, instead of being misled that it has a hot tub.

The location is great. You are about a 15-minute walk to the village (Exit out onto the main road and there is a safe bike path that will take you all the way there). You are also a 15-minute walk to Canyon Lodge (it is uphill) and there is also ample parking around canyon to drive closer if you would prefer. The beds are comfy and the place is spotless. Only bummer is check out is at 10:00 am which is pretty rushed when you are trying to have breakfast, clean up, and get ready to go on the mountain for your last day. I would recommend a 12:00 pm checkout.

Great location in Mammoth

Our family of five had a great time in this condo. It was very convenient to get to the village for daycare for our two little ones, and then to ride the gondola up to Canyon Lodge to ski and snowboard. The kids loved being able to walk up to the hot tub and rec room at the end of each day. Kitchen had everything we needed to eat dinner in, and there is seating for four in the dining area and three barstools at the kitchen counter. Only suggestion would be to provide separate towels for the hot tub.

Great stay

The condo was clean, cozy and we'll located. We had lots of snow and the parking lot was quickly plowed. Enjoyed the big well maintained community jacuzzi. Only suggestion is to provide entry with a code so separate trips to the rental office to pick up and drop off the key would not be required.

Cozy condo in Discovery 4.

The unit has a nice pellet stove for keeping the unit warm and an electric wall heater for keeping winter gear toasty, as well as base board heating. We visited January 2016 and had over two feet of snow fall, so it was great to have all the heat. Although the size of the unit is smaller than the photos indicate, it was ideal for our family of four (children 6 and 10). The owners might consider putting a pull-out couch in the family room for older children. The Discovery complex is well managed. The club house is great with a sauna, HUGE spa, BBQ's, pool (summer), laundry, foosball, ping-pong, billiards and even Ms. Pac-Man. As I mentioned, we had over 2 feet of snow and the parking area was plowed and cleared quickly... even faster than Lake Mary Rd.! Nice work management! Easy access to Canyon Lodge. We scored perfect mammoth!
