PODERE CASAROTTA is a private villa in a XVIII century farmhouse, that has been restored, divided in six apartments, and provided with a swimming pool immersed in the silence of the countryside. Halfway between Florence and Arezzo, on the cliff of Pratomagno mountain, with a stunning sight on the whole Valdarno valley and the Chianti hills. Immersed in nature and surrounded by olive trees (we still make our own organic olive oil).

The house features six apartments that have one or two bedrooms each, living room with equipped kitchen, private bathroom and private outdoor garden area. Each apartment can sleep 2/4 persons, together they accommodate any group up to 24 persons (14 in double beds + up to 10 in added beds/sofabeds). Perfect for groups of 12-16.

One of the apartments (the stand-alone Hayloft) has a large dining room with 16 seats and a large private terrace with view where even larger groups can comfortably eat altogether in an unforgettable setting.

Thanks to the privileged position, you will find a perfect balance between rest & relaxation and moving around to visit Tuscany. The house is secluded, silent and peaceful, but at the same time it's near to local town and villages: the nearest shopping point is Castelfranco, just 4kms away, and the A1 motorway is just at a 10 minutes drive.

Beautiful peaceful Tuscany.

The apartment was large and well equipped. It had a lovely sunny terrace and its own private garden. The views are fabulous. The manager could not have been more helpful with giving us local information. The villa is in a beautiful location. Perfect to visit Florence and Pisa. There are some lovely bike rides too. I would recommend these apartments to anyone.

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Woche in unserem Appartement "Il Gelso". Das Apartment ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Das besondere an diesem Ort sind einfach die Stille und der Ausblick. Das gesamte Anwesen ist sehr gut gepflegt und auch die Angestellten sind nett und hilfsbereit. Wir würden wiederkommen.

mooi, groot en rustig gelegen woning

De ontvangst was zeer vriendelijk. De woning was ruim, compleet en in een zeer mooie en rustige omgeving gelegen. Prima zwembad met voldoende ligplekken. Erg mooi was de gezamenlijke buitenruimte met mogelijkheden voor te zitten en te BBQ'en en een geweldig uitzicht over de vallei. Persoonlijk vond ik het jammer dat er alleen in een gezamenlijke ruimte WIFI was.

Quiet location, very good apartment,

A very quiet and beautifull location, ideal for making long walks in the Pratomagno, and to visit Toscane. The apartments are very good and cool. The swimming pool and the area is beautifull, and the manager is very helpfull.

Erholung pur

Podere Casarotta liegt wunderschön mit Blick auf das Valdarno und die Hügel des Chianti. Um das große Haus befinden sich zahlreiche Olivenbäume und ein sehr schönes Pool-Areal. Die Ferienwohnung war großzügig geschnitten, wir wurden mit Nudeln, Tomatensoße, Wein, Keksen und allem Nötigen, was man in der Küche braucht, begrüßt. Die Kommunikation lief bestens. WIr kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Beautiful scenery for a quiet break

A beautiful place with very friendly and helpful staff

We had a fantastic week at Podere Casarotta. We stayed in Il Loggia, a one bedroom apartment. It is very spacious, with a comfortable bed and a lovely shower. It also has a private area immediately outside with views over the valley, the Valdarno. Simone and everyone there could not have been more helpful. Simone welcomed us and showed us around, and he and his partner cooked us a delicious and memorable meal one evening. There is a lovely 15m+ pool which is shared with the other residents, but it is easily big enough with plenty of loungers by the pool. The information folder provided gave us lots of interesting and useful information about the area - for example it told us clearly how we could travel by train to Florence, which we did very successfully one day. There is a range of shops in Castelfranco di Sopra, including a friendly bakers shop. All in all, this is a great place to stay!

Erholung pur !

Wer eine Unterkunft sucht, bei der man wirklich abschalten kann, ist hier richtig. Abgelegen, oberhalb des Valdarno Tals mit einem wirklich tollen Blick in das Tal und Umgebung. Für Ausflüge in die Hotspots der Toscana relativ zentral gelegen. Florenz, Chiantigebiet, Siena usw. mit dem Auto innerhalb von 60 Minuten erreichbar. Wir waren im "Il Loggiato". Der Wohnung mit einer überdachten Terrasse, auf der man besonders die Abende toll ausklingen lassen kann und auch für sich ist. Für 2 Personen ist die Wohnung perfekt. Das Gästesofa im Küchen/Wohnbereich ist als Schlafsofa allerdings nur für Personen bis Teenageralter empfehlenswert. Die Ausstattung und Möblierung ist wie beschrieben. Die Küchenausstattung war für größere Kochaktivitäten eher begrenzt. Als Kaffeemaschine steht u.a. eine Nespresso zur Verfügung. Dafür benötigt man allerdings die passenden Kapseln. Toll ist auch der Swimmingpool, der nur einige Meter entfernt vom Wohngebäude liegt. Der Pool ist sauber und ausreichend groß, auch zum Schwimmen (ich schätze 15-20 Meter). Ebenfalls stehen Liegen und Sonnenschirme zur Verfügung. Sicher auch abhängig von den anderen Gästen, konnten wir oft den Pool nur für uns nutzen. Auch unser Hund konnte/durfte sich in dem Bereich aufhalten. Auch das ist sicher davon abhängig wie man seinen Hund hält und wie die anderen Gäste das sehen. No Go ist den Hund ins Wasser zu lassen und ihn seine Geschäfte dort verrichten zu lassen ! Falls es uns wieder in die Region verschlägt, kommen wir sicher wieder.

Great place, great weather, great value

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, fantastic place, stunning views, relaxing and chilled throughout our stay. Easy to get to places such as Florence, would recommend a trip to Lucca and the Il Conto de Maggio restaurant. What a lovely place for a relaxing family holiday!

We have 2 children (5 and 9) and love decent self-catering accommodation holidays. This place was fantastic and I have have already recommended friends and family to go. We stayed in "I Baldacchini" which was perfect for a family of 4. The pool is lovely, everywhere is safe and clean and everyone who we came into contact with were friendly. We will definitely be back, great job.

War ein schöner Sommerurlaub

Wir sind eine große Familie aus Deutschland/Sachsen gewesen, wir waren zu 11. Es hat uns allen sehr gut gefallen. Die Lage war herrlich, Ruhe und Natur pur. Der Pool war für alle eine sehr gute Abkühlung in der Hitze. Die Bilder im Inserat haben nicht gelogen, es war wirklich so schön. Die Wohnungen waren typisch italienisch eingerichtet, es war sauber und gepflegt. Der Vermieter, Herr Simone, hat uns herzlich begrüßt und war sehr freundlich. Dieses Ferienhaus ist auf jeden Fall weiter zu empfehlen. Auch unser kleiner Hund war herzlich willkommen. Es ist ein schöner Ausgangspunkt für viele Unternehmungen. Wir würden auf alle Fälle wiederkommen.

wow!

We loved every minute of our stay at Podere Casarotta. We stayed in the converted hayloft, which was not only comfortable but had everything we could possibly need. There was a perfect mix between relaxation and sight seeing, and the apartments were located by some really pretty towns and within easy train ride to Florence and other big towns.. Wish we were still there!

Einfach und richtig schön entspannen

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen und erholsamen Aufenthalt. Die Lage ist perfekt, um die Region zwischen Florenz, Arezzo, Siena und dem Val d'Orcia zu erkunden,. Alles ist gut zu erreichen, gleichzeitig genießt man absolute Ruhe in Alleinlage und einen wunderschönen Blick vom 530m hohen Berg auf das Tal. Die Anlage ist wunderbar gepflegt und Gärtner Enzo ist superfreundlich und einfach klasse. Der Poolbereich ist sehr großzügig und selbst bei weniger gutem Wetter ein Anziehungspunkt. Wir hatten das freistehende Haus und haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist einfach eingerichtet, die Dusche wechselte wie bei unseren Nachbarn gern zwischen heiß und kalt, aber es ist alles im Haus, was man braucht - und auf der eigenen Terrasse zu sitzen und beim Frühstück oder Abendessen das ganze Tal zu überblicken, das war einfach toll. Man sieht von dort sogar die einzigartige Felsformation "le balze", die da Vinci für den Hintergrund der Mona Lisa verwendet hat. Wer Glück hat trifft auf der Fahrt vom/zum Haus sogar Stachelschweine. Vielen Dank auch an Verwalter Simone für die guten Tipps zu wirklich schönen Dorffesten und sehr netten Winzern mit gutem Wein in der Umgebung! Wir empfehlen die Anlage gerne weiter, insbesondere für Urlauber, die keinen Trubel oder Luxus suchen, sondern schlicht und einfach Natur, Ruhe und die schöne Region genießen wollen.

breath taking view, wonderful garden & nice house

We had a wonderful time at Podere Casarotta! The apartment was clean, comfortable and very good equipped. Simone was a perfect host and gave us very good hints concerning restaurants and sightseeing highlights nearby. There has also been a nice welcome package including wine and water. Also coffee, tea, olive oil, pasta and cosey towels as well as bathrobes and slippers are offered in the apartment. The view down the valley was really awesome. Also the garden with the pool and the barbeque place were in excellent state! It is a very good starting point to visit Florence, Siena, Arezzo and the Chianti valley, but a car is necessary! It is a perfect place to leave everything behind and forget about the stressful everyday life. We all agreed that we would definitely come here again!! Thanks to Simone and Podere Casarotta for the great vacation!

Der perfekte Erholungsaufenthalt

Casarotta ist sehr ruhig gelegen, inmitten Olivenheinen, mit einer phantastischen Sicht über das Valdano in Richtung Chianti Hügel. Wir waren nicht zum ersten Mal in Casarotta: die ruhige, erholsame Atmosphäre zieht uns immer wieder dorthin. Die Ferien hier, bieten den richtigen Mix zwischen Erholung, Besichtigungen in der geschichtlich interessanten Umgebung, Shopping in den unweit gelegenen Outlets, Spaziergänge und wunderbares faulenzen im Schatten der Olivenbäume am Swimmingpool. Nicht zu vergessen was die toskanische Küche bietet, von Hausmanns-Kost bis zu modern überarbeitete Gerichte der Toskanischen Tradition, und Weine die man gerne mit nimmt, damit man Zuhause noch etwas zum schwärmen hat. Die Besitzer produzieren aus ihren Oliven ein feines Öl, was auch ein prima Mitbringsel ist. Das Receptionist Simone ist sehr hilfsbereit und empfehlt gerne Restaurants und Aktivitäten die man nicht vermissen sollte. Die Wohnungen sind gemütlich eingerichtet, die Küche gut ausgestattet, Bademäntel und Badetücher werden zur Verfügung gestellt. Ein gelassenes Ambiente für die perfekte Erholung, wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Aufenthalt!

fabulous hidden gem

We stayed here for a week after having been travelling around Italy. Beautiful place, lovely surroundings and very peaceful. Simone was extremely helpful, and the gardener was lovely. Everything was clean and we'll maintained and the views were exceptional! Top tip: Ask Simone to prepare for you one of their home cooked meals. WOW! It was the best meal we had in the whole trip! This was a perfect tuscan escape for families and couples and we would recommend it to anyone, I would rate it 10 if I could!

Lovely

My husband and I stayed at Podere Casarotta in May 2013. It was lovely rural retreat with stunning views. We stayed in apartment 2 and benefited from our own private terrace, which we used every evening. Simone - the manager of the property - was incredibly helpful in the run up to our holiday, and during the break. He even taught us how to cook some Italian foods, which was a real highlight! We would happily recommend this property.You need a car to get there (and the drive up to the property was a little nerve racking the first time round) but the views are amazing and the peace and tranquillity on offer should not be underestimated.

Hillside bliss

If you are looking for a chance to get away from it all, then look no further. This collection of seven properties is situated in the hills and olive groves, with beautiful south facing views down in to the valley, and has a rustic charm to match. The main house was tastefully converted about 20 years ago and the gardens are immaculate thanks to Enzo, the gardener. Simone couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend,

We booked not knowing where exactly the Podere Casarotta was, all we knew was that it was in central Tuscany which is where we wanted to be. We were a party of four and we had booked apartments three and four for a whole month. When we arrived we were met by Simone who showed us around the property and gave us advice about the surrounding area, things like where to shop where to eat the best places to visit etc.. To say that we were pleasantly surprised at the accommodations would be an understatement, we were overjoyed, the apartments were very clean and had all the basics for a comfortable holiday in Italy. Simone offered to cook a typical Tuscan meal for us and the other guests which was a marvel in culinary delight (far too much food for me) and the wine was excellent, Simone could not do enough for his guests. The actual Podere is situated about a mile off the Setti Ponte Road above the Arno Valley, and is surrounded by olive groves and grape vineyards as far as the eye can see, each morning we were awakened by the sound of birds singing, and the view of the Arno valley was stunning. Each apartment has its own garden spot where you can sit, there is also a beautiful swimming pool and sun beds to laze on while you work on your tan. All in all I would go back in a heartbeat, and I highly recommend the Podere Casarotta as a base of operations if you want to see Tuscany, everywhere you would want to go is within easy driving distance.
