There is a bench at the edge of the property perfect for those sunny days to sit and watch the waves crash along the rocks below, watch the whales spout, or watch the ever changing sunsets. This great home includes premium cable service and WiFi!

Our 47th wedding anniversary

Yachats was a great little place for a week of quiet reflection. The weather was great and we had a front row seat for the angry sea ahead of a small summer storm.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location and there is never a bad day at the coast. This house has so much potential to be more. It's very clean but dated and the grounds could be lovely but the view is amazing.

Such a delightful cabin right on the cliffs. 50 feet out the back door are amazing rocks with crashing waves. ocean view from the living room and the kitchen. Overall just delightful and a quiet neighborhood for walking.

Great place!

This is a classic beach house- a little quirky, cute, water view and walking distance to town. The house had everything we needed and we had a great time there. We had some great wave watching from the bench on the property and we took some great walks- you can walk to town one direction and eventually to nice walking path the other direction. This is a great little house!

The retreat was quiet, comfy and cozy! I adored the ocean view from the kitchen window and the privacy of the space and the homey vibe. Just a short walk from the door was the big blue Pacific, and a bench to sit upon and savor it all.

Perfect little house!

Not at all fancy, but had everything we needed, including a killer location just above the surf for all-day views. Easy walk to the shops and restaurants. Just a few minutes north of Cape Perpetua. Everything was very clean.

Nice place to stay

As some others have said in their reviews, this place could use some TLC, however the important things (to us anyway) were great. The place was clean. The bed was comfortable. Everything worked in the bathroom and kitchen. And the view from the bench in the backyard is stunning. We had good weather and enjoyed a few meals right there on the bench.

A quiet place with a beautiful view

We really enjoyed the view and location of this house. My only complaints by is that if you really want to do some good cooking the kitchen pots and pans are not very good. Could use an upgrade in this area.

As advertised and reviewed

Doc's is dated from a furnishings standpoint and could use a queen size bed in one of the rooms instead of a double. The mattresses are a tad on the soft side. However, the kitchen is well equipped and the house is clean. For the price, the location cannot be beat as it is a short walk to everything in Yachats and the views are excellent.

Quiet, Clean, Close

Very comfortable & cozy, I call it a beach cabin vibe. Very clean and well stocked. The outside and particularly the entryway could use some TLC, but ignore it, it is not reflective of the inside. Comfortable furniture and bed, we especially appreciated the excellent lighting! Perfect location for visiting Yachats, no more than a half mile walk to anything. We did not use our car all week. Excellent eating i n Yachats.

Love being able to watch the waves from the living room or kitchen table. Only complaint is the couch/hide a bed is not sleepable. My daughter and her husband put the mattress on the floor, but both were sore in the morning. Please don't say it can be used as a bed. A short person could sleep on it as a couch, but not that comfortably (I'm 5' 1") and I tried it. Saying it could sleep 6 is false advertising.

Cozy with a great view

We had a very relaxing stay. It was cozy with a wood stove we took advantage of. Great view of the ocean, basically the whole side facing the ocean is windows. Perfect size for Hubby, Son, 2 dogs and me. It is older, but we didnā€™t mind that. itā€™s in a nice, quiet, neighborhood. it was clean and had comfortable beds. Wish it had more comfortable furniture for lounging. Very small bathroom and the shower would probably be too small for a larger person to turn around in. We Didnā€™t have any trouble with electrical or plug ins as others mentioned. We cooked the whole weekend and it was stocked with everything we needed for that. Overall, I had a great time and will book again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderful place to stay for my great grandson's birthday. We have had family reunions in the Yachats area since the 1970s. My only complaint is the "sleeper" couch. My daughter and her husband had to put the mattress on the floor, and even then it was not comfortable. Please do not advertise this as a sleeping option. Even as a couch, not folded out, it is too short for one person to sleep on unless they are pretty short. Loved watching the waves come in, and only a short walk to paths down to the rocks/beach (depending on tide).

A great little place

We spent two nights at Doc's Retreat and really enjoyed our stay. The rental was really clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable - we did not use the pull out bed. The bathroom was clean but really small, and you kind of had to squeeze yourself in. It's an older house with no overhead lighting, so the kitchen/dining area in particular were a little dark - we were doing a puzzle at the table and had to bring one of the living room lamps into the kitchen. The backyard has a spectacular view, but we were a little disappointed that the usable space was so small. We wanted to spend more time outside in the evening, but there most of the yard is covered in shrubs with just a park bench and small patch of grass at the end, so it was only really suitable for 2 people max to be out there at a time. The pictures of the yard are accurate, but we just thought the usable space was going to be bigger. There are also no side gates to keep children/pets contained in the backyard. The location is also great. We were able to walk to restaurants and had easy access to the bluff, and it was an easy drive to hikes and sandy beaches.
