Perched on a bluff overlooking the ocean, this stunning corner unit features 270-degree breathtaking views of Bali Hai, mountain waterfalls and expansive ocean vistas. With windows on three sides of the home, guests will feel like they are in their own private retreat enjoying the magnificent views by day and being lulled to sleep by the soothing sound of waves at night.

The condo was newly renovated in 2025.

This spectacular oceanfront condo features a main level master bedroom (king bed) and a bright and airy upstairs loft suite (two twin beds). Each bedroom has an ensuite, newly tiled, full bathroom with shower.

Pali Ke Kua 201 is an extraordinary corner unit which showcases panoramic ocean vistas, views of Bali Hai, magnificent mountains and cascading waterfalls on Namolokama and Mamalohoa. Breathtaking scenery from every room includes humpback whales, brilliant rainbows and tropical gardens. This home is a perfect honeymoon hideaway, an ideal place to celebrate your anniversary/special occasion and a great place to come with your family.

Your home-away-from-home is light and airy with soaring cathedral ceilings, a skylight, whisper quiet fans, new wood flooring throughout, a fully equipped and remodeled kitchen, a library of Hawaiian/Pacific history books and a TV with Fire Stick. For your convenience, this unit has a clothes washer and dryer on the main floor.

The large, slate-tiled outdoor lanai has a chaise lounge as well as a dining table and chairs for fully enjoying the magnificent views. You'll see humpback whales in winter as well as albatross and nene year-round. Watch for double rainbows, outrigger canoes, surfers, waterfalls (we have counted as many as 28), fantastic waves and magnificent sunsets all without leaving your island home.

Just outside the condo, there is a private, paved path to a secluded, white-sand beach, Hideaways, which has world-class seasonal snorkeling and frequent turtle encounters. An on-property private swimming pool and jacuzzi are just steps away from your front door as well as an on-site restaurant, Hideaways Pizza Pub, for dine-in or take-out service.

At Pali Ke Kua, you are surrounded by lush tropical palms, acres of lawn, and native flowers and trees. You are just minutes from world-famous Hanalei Bay, Tunnels Beach, Ke'e Beach, Ha'ena Beach Park and the Kalalau Trail.

Outdoor activities: Enjoy golfing on two world-class courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., kayaking the Hanalei River, surfing world-famous point breaks, mountain biking, horseback riding, zip lining, playing tennis and pickleball, hiking the Kalalau Trail along the Na Pali Coast and shopping at the weekly farmer's markets in Hanalei Town and Kilauea. Mixed Experience - Stunning Views, with Drawbacks

The Bali Hai and mountain vistas here are truly unmatched, and the remodeled kitchen and bathrooms are fresh upgrades. However, a few drawbacks that I think worth mentioning:- Insect invasion: Old, warped window/door screens with gaps and holes let in swarms of insects. While most were harmless, the relentless mosquitoes disrupted sleep.- Staircase challenges: Steep outdoor stairs (7 steps to the front door), immediately inside, you must climb 7 steep steps up to the upper level or descend 7 equally steep steps to the main living area. Not ideal for mobility concerns.- Check-in hassle: Physical key pickup at the Lihue office requires a short drive—digital locks would simplify this.- Outdated furniture: The couches were noticeably old, worn, and, well, less clean than you’d like them to be. A gem for the views, and if insects, stairs, and stylish furnishings are not your concerns, you’d love this place.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We came for a family event. I have stayed at Pali Kekua many times before and this was the absolutely worst unit I have stayed in any place on Kauai. The view is spectacular but the condo it self is in desperate need for an update. Other then the view the photos are very misleading I had vacation rentals on Island myself and it is a privilege to offer it to visitors. With that also comes a responsibility of sharing Aloha and show respect to the guests. This condo did not do that at all. It reflects the overlay of greed that currently inhabits our beautiful Island. This unit could shine with very little upgrades and furniture that is intact.

Unit is well equipped with kitchen, sand chairs, towels, etc. the patio door should be replaced. The screens get off track all the time and birds can make their way in. The screens scrape a lot and make a lot of noise for the folks downstairs.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The best thing about this condo is its location in Princeville with views of the mountains, the ocean, and the sunsets over Bali Hai. The PKK grounds are very pleasant with lovely trees, flowers, birds, and views plus the trail down to the beach. The condo layout and general amenities, including the library, are also great. From a sanitation aspect, the cleanliness was fine. But it seriously needs a deep cleaning (e.g., dusting/cleaning railings & art work; cleaning couch cushion covers & pillows) and better routine maintenance (e.g., doors & screens and bathroom fixtures). We've been coming to this condo for many years. We enjoyed our stay and will likely come back, but with the significant rate increase over last year, we'd hoped to see better care taken of the place.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It took me a long time to write this, but need to now. We had a great time, and enjoyed our condo, even though it is quite dated and could use many upgrades. But we loved the location, and KVR staff was very helpful when we had a problem that needed fixing. It was handled promptly and staff was friendly. Our problem came when we checked out and went by your office to drop off keys. There was extensive road work between us in Princeville and you in Lihue, causing maybe 45 minutes delay. By the time we got to your office, we were both in dire need of a bathroom. We are both in our 70's and not in any way menacing. We asked if we could use the bathroom at your office, and were told no. She said we should go across the street to Walmart. When we got to Walmart the lot was packed - no place to park, no way to get to a bathroom. After leaving you with a couple thousand dollars of our money, it did not seem like an unreasonable request to ask to use a bathroom. We were the only people there, and as I say, posed no threat. It just seemed rude and uncaring. We have rented from you before, and been happy with our experiences. But this experience leaves me thinking we may have to look for something different. Simple human kindness should have been shown, and was not.

Lovely place to stay!

This is a fantastic unit, the view from the lanai is amazing. We were grateful that some beach gear was available for use. The pots and pans were in very poor condition making it really hard to use the kitchen easily. The knives were dull. The shower fixtures were old and are in need of care.

Exceptional Home on the N Shore of Kaua'i

Wonderful views, Well-appointed with all we needed for our stay. Wonderful winds blow through the home all day long. Listen to ocean waves day and night. It really is an exceptional home to spend a vacation on the N Shore.

Grateful for the fans as the afternoon sun really heats up the place in the afternoons. Leaving the front door open helped create a strong cross breeze-wish there was a screen door. Living room furniture, bathroom fixtures, washer and dryer were on the older side but were functional. Good communication from the rental company.

The views are unique and the apartment had all of the amenities we wanted! While it is true that the apartment can use some updates, the lack of the updates did not impact our overall experience!

It’s All About the View

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo is older with need of some minor repairs and a good deep cleaning. You can tell regular cleaning is done (bedding, countertops, etc.) but the hard to reach spaces and things like curtains and windows treatments look like they haven’t had a good cleaning for a while. The saving grace of this property is the view! Mountains and waterfalls to one side, crystal clear ocean with views of the reef on the other. Amazing sunsets and beautiful gardens surrounding the property. Had the condo been cleaner and in better repair it would have been perfect.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our second stay at Pali Ke Kua and first time in this unit. The unit does need some updates but all in all for the price it is a great unit. Comfy bed, fully stocked kitchen and great furniture on the balcony for enjoying the sunset. We would like to see them remodel and remove the carpeting. It is well worn and gives the condo a musty smell due to the humidity. It is a corner unit with the bedroom in the back toward the street. The bedroom curtains do not allow for air flow when closed and you need the ventilation late in the afternoon as it gets very hot. It would have been great if the curtains stopped above the florida windows or had sheers to allow for more air and privacy because at night with the lights on and the curtains open you can see right in. Beach equipment and cooler were provided. The loft area was cute and would be great for kids. Having two bathrooms was another plus. Don't let my suggested updates sway you away from staying here, this is a great condo and we would definitely return. Just a little food for thought for the owners.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: You have panoramic views in this unit....mountains, ocean and you can hear the waves. Hard to find that on the North shore. Another perk, direct access to the beach down a steep paved path with some of the best snorkeling, with turtles, on the island. Awesome sunsets. People migrate to this side of Princeville for the perfect sunset pic and we only have to walk out to the lanai. Though the unit is a bit dated, it has all the amenities needed. Kauai rentals is also an excellent company to work with. We have used them several times.

We found the unit to be well appointed both in the kitchen and the closet had adequate beach chairs, boogey boards and a cooler. Couldn't ask for more. We found the WiFi to be somewhat sporadic but adequate. With all the ocean facing glass, the afternoon sun in the summer is a little brutal but after sundown with all the louvers open things cooled down nicely. This was particularly true in the master bedroom. We slept very comfortably. All in all, we found this to be a very nice vacation rental.

What a view!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view from the condo is unreal! The mountains with waterfalls on one side and the Ocean on the other. Getting to the beach requires quite the walk(hike down) . So be ready. The condo does badly need a face lift. The appliances are from the early 80's and the carpet (everywhere?) needs to go. But if all you do is sit on the deck and watch the waves, you'll love it. I know I did.
