After receiving this two star review I called the renter to see why. When I texted her during her stay she said everything was great and did not let me know of any issues so this was taken as a surprise. When we talked on the phone she agreed that she shouldn't have given it a 2 star review, said she isn't savy with the internet and wasn't sure what she was doing. She did say that there were some crumbs under the couch and we agreed that summer rental cleaning companies are not as diligent as a hotel cleaning staff. There were some minor stains on the carpet but it was clean. We have since switched cleaning companies and the carpets have been steam cleaned. Renter said she could have written much nicer things about the house, location and pool but said she "normally doesn't do these type of things and wasn't computer savy". She felt bad for leaving this review and said if she could change it she would.

I'm sorry once again, the cleaners canceling twice on us has never happened before and it was completely out of our control. I did suggest you contact VRBO and they would have found you another place, even if it was a hotel for the night, that is part of their protection guarantee. You did not want to do that and were ok checking in to the place uncleaned. I said I would refund the cleaning fee and I could give you an additional amount of money if you wanted to clean it yourself. You still wanted me to have a cleaner come out and since I had to find someone super quick that we don't usually use, I had to pay more than double. I was already out the cleaning fee I reimbursed to you (could not apply it to the expensive cleaner) and out the extra money the emergency cleaners charged. In the text message I said I would refund the extra money if you wanted to clean it yourself, but you chose the expensive cleaner. Looking back, you should have just reached out to VRBO and they would have put you in a comparable place and if nothing was available, they would have put you in a hotel. Please read your rental agreement with them. You did not want to do that so I was accommodating you by letting you stay even though the place was not ready. I'm sorry the issue was completely out of my control.
