Enjoy a peaceful nights sleep in #1) " Sweet Dreams" the master room with comfortable king size bed , this room has a full bathroom attached,#2) "The Secret Garden Room" has two twin beds and opens out to a small quite porch which leads to a wonderful outdoor space complete with B.B.Q , picnic table, fire pit , chairs, this area is perfect for s"mores and evening relaxation. The home was a perfect fit for what we needed. Close to where we spent most of our time.(Parris Island). Plenty of room to spend time together with everyone eating and just hanging out.The only thing I would commet on is maybe getting new mattresses for the pull out sofas. If needed I would booked here again.

It was definitely large enough for our family as we came in for graduation. There are lots of different spaces that groups can gather: two living room type areas and two separate dining areas. The outside going to the parking area had poison oak growing into the path and we couldn’t find any dish detergent to hand wash dishes but really that’s the only negative things I can think of.

Thank you so much for the review . I am allergic to poison ivy and definitely have not seen any on the path but here in the low country best to beware, it can come up quick after a good rain, hope no one got into it

The home was lovely and had everything we needed! I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Heads up if you haven't visited the area. the beach down the street has oyster shells so wear shoes in the water to avoid cutting your feet!

We rented both parts of this house for our son's graduation from Marine Corps boot camp and absolutely loved being so close to the base (MCRD Parris Island). We were very comfortable with all of my large family in the house, and everything worked well. Although communications beforehand were sluggish and attention to detail for some of our questions was lacking, we met the owner before we left on the last day and had some nice conversation before we checked out. We would recommend this to any boot camp graduation families.

This property is older but maintained. There's lots of room for everyone to spread out and not be crowded. Kids also enjoyed hanging out in the basement. Beds were plentiful and comfy. Neighborhood is quiet and we were able to walk to a couple of restaurants and an ice cream shop. There were 2 play grounds a few blocks away for the little kids, and the wildlife sanctuary boardwalk. This location is close to PI for graduation and family day. We were able to walk portions of the Spanish Moss Trail and the boardwalk alongside the bay. This was a pleasant stay for our group of 9.

The owners refused to reimburse me for my clothes being damaged using their washer and dryer. I even saw the same black markings on their sheets in the master bedroom. They finally just ignored me all together. The house is also shared! That is not clear when you are booking. The basement is disgusting and not safe for children. It also smells like mold. The house itself was old, not clean and it well kept. They waited till the day we checked out to mow the yard. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Oh my goodness, I am truly sorry that you feel this way however the house is old and I don't want that to be a secret it was built in 1957 , my husband and I take great pride in keeping the house up , he is a carpenter and I am one of the main house keepers, I know the house was clean however I understand that we all have different perspectives. I have definitely taken this critic to heart and as I said decided to close off the basement, I only kept it open this long thinking guest would enjoy playing pool and ping pong and corn hole. I hope that your family enjoyed your vacation in spite of the challenges you faced at The Proud Mary

An exceptional rental for the price. We have a very large family, and there was plenty of room for the 9 of us (all adults). The fire pit was a big drawing card as was the close proximity to Parris Island. Local restaurants and stores were also nearby. We loved it. To us, if felt like the homes in Ocean City, NJ in past years. It's not new, but the property, number of beds and bedrooms, and the proximity to everything we wanted was awesome. There is a huge game room in the basement as well.

First, the person I comminicated with was Pheobe. She was accommodating to our need to drop luggage off early before going to Parris Island for baptism for our new Marine. So we were grateful for that. From that, it was not so great. The house smelled terribly of mold or mildew. The dishes were very dirty. Dirty dishes were left in the dishwasher. There was clear water damage under the windows in the dining room and living room. The "game room" had a note on the door reading "Use at your own risk." And we soon discovered that was there for good reason. There was nothing I would touch in the game room without a tetanus shot and some antibiotics. The shower drain was clogged with hair. The stove top didn't get hot enough to even boil water. The coffee pot was not cleaned. The grass was knee high and filled with mosquitoes from several pots and buckets of stagnant water. So we couldn't even use the fire pit. And the front patio had poison ivy vines growing all over it so that was out of the question as well. We left a day early because everyone ended up sick from the mold/mildew within 24 hours. And the property listing didn't mention anything about someone living in the 2nd story of the home. I advised Pheobe we were leaving early, explained why and she couldn't be bothered to respond. Save your money and health and DO NOT BOOK THIS HOUSE.

The only communication that I received was that you needed to check in early and on the day you left , the only communication I received was a brief text simply stating that you had left the house, nothing else until this review??? I regret that you didn't call me ? I do have notes , with my phone number and asking you to please call me if you have any challenges. I would have been more than happy to accommodate you and your request if I had known as it is I am sorry things were not as expected? I have gone back through all of my wording and photos and I have also locked the basement, it was a courtesy to leave the basement open for guest to use at their discretion, pool table, ping pong etc... we have been renting The Proud Mary since 2016 and have never heard of guests becoming ill ?? I believe the customer is always right, so I will close by saying I will do everything on my end to resolve these issues. Sincerely, Phoebe Mills

The house was efficient for a large family. We had to buy toilet paper, paper towels and hand soap. The furniture is old and the couch needs to be replaced. Screen door hardware on the side of the house was broken off. Dirty towels in the washer unwashed. The hot water and A/C worked great. If the small things were fixed it would make it a good vacation rental.

We do provide toilet paper and paper towels to get you started however you do need to provide your own when the courtesy supply runs out. The master bedroom is so comfortable , you may want to sleep in but their are to many wonderful things to do in Port Royal you will want to get out and enjoy!
