Amazing Waterfront Home! Westside of San Juan Island!! Whale View Haven!

This remodeled home that sleeps 6, located on the Westside of San Juan Island, is the perfect getaway for groups or couples wanting to relax and enjoy what the island has to offer.

Enjoy watching wildlife off the water-view deck as the local birds enjoy the bird feeders, and maybe spot a harbor seal playing in the water below. The renovated gourmet kitchen boasts 2 ovens, stone counter tops, stainless steel appliances and fully stocked cookware. The kitchen is situated to enjoy the expansive views while preparing your meals. You may catch a glimpse of a passing Orca Whale while pouring your morning coffee!

The primary bedroom located on the main floor has a King size bed and a grand view of the water. The picture-window in the primary bedroom can be opened up to enjoy a cool breeze as you wake up. The main floor queen bedroom also has a view of the water. Between the two main-floor bedrooms in the hallway you will find the full bathroom.

The downstairs extra sleeping room feels like a separate wing of the home with a sitting area, an attached bathroom, and a Queen-Sized bed overlooking the water.

A perfect getaway for a few couples or small family with older children. Families with small children should use caution with this high bank waterfront.

This house is equipped with mini-split heat/cool systems in the main level TV/Dining area and in the downstairs area only.

There is NO Cell Coverage at this property. Long Distance is provided. The Wifi supplied at this property is adequate enough for making calls on your personal cell.

**For safety reasons the wood burning stove is not available for guest use.

Pets are not allowed at this property.

Absolutely delightful location with amazing views. A great chance to see much wildlife from deer, seals, orcas and more. The home was well equipped for dining at home with an outdoor grill. Nice walk outside on the quiet road.

The best thing about this place is the view. The house was very dark and the utensils needed washed before using. The BBQ had issues, but it was still a nice place because the location was ideal. We saw a hump back whale, a family of otters, and a couple of foxes so it was a nice trip.
San Juan County Park is only about 5 minutes away and the view is amazing. We saw whales and a fox here and we ate and played scrabble here. It rained a little, but there is a covered area. So fun!

Beautiful view in prime location

Reviewer Comments: We knew from the property’s pictures and from other reviews that the house and furniture were not modern. 100% understood and that was not why we rented so I am not sure why reviews from even a month ago continue to harp on this when the main reason to rent this house are the incredible views! While we did not see any whales, we saw plenty of seals and eagles in the few days of our stay. And the quiet solitude was wonderful. The fog would roll in and freighters coming through would blow their horns - it was sort of eerie and beautiful at the same time. We wound up hanging out at the house more than expected - thanks in part to a kitchen that does have modern appliances and we did some cooking and baking to enjoy our anniversary in peaceful solitude. My only complaint is the lack of quality artificial light sources in this house. We are from MI so there is a three-hour time difference. I often woke up quite early and the lights in this house are very dim. I brought knitting with me and I struggled to knit in the early hours as lamps were just not bright enough. Every light fixture just seemed to have bulbs with not enough power. Thankfully I read on a Kindle!

Spectacular Views From Everywhere

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This mid-century home has windows galore in every room of the house with spectacular views of the Haro Strait. We saw several Dall's porpoises, we saw harbor seals nearly every day, untold sightings of eagles, and the peacefulness was incredible. For the bird lovers there is also a bird feeder with seed onsite, and it's a birder's paradise! We took a kayaking trip with Crystal Seas (HIGHLY recommended) and paddled past the house, which was cool - we got to see it from both directions! There was plenty of room for our family of six. This property is close to Lime Kiln Park and Snug Harbor and only a few minutes away from Friday Harbor. If being on the west side is important to you, I'm not sure you can do better than this property!

We had a wonderful stay in Smuggler's Cove. The house was beautiful and perfect. The views were breath taking - we would definitely stay here again.

First of all, the view at this house is incredible and we saw whales right along the property line every day, 3 separate sightings! The outdoor deck was a great place to sit and enjoy the water views and the many birds of the area. Everything was functional and there was plenty of space for 4 adults. The kitchen is well-supplied. The property reminded us of lakeside cabins in the Midwest from our early years and we all agreed those were good memories.However, as charming as the furnishings are, some items really need to be removed or replaced. Upholstered seating was pretty uncomfortable. Lighting was difficult for reading, kitchen lighting was not great for food preparation…overall the lighting made the home seem dark and dreary once the sun set. The downstairs shower head needs to be replaced. Some doors and cabinets don’t stay closed or are difficult to open in the lower bedroom.Lastly, the “warning” notes throughout the property are very off-putting. As a rental property owner myself, I know there are other ways to word rules/restrictions. The front porch and outside area are first impressions that should be welcoming and inviting. The view is the star of the show here though, and once inside the front door, that was the focus.

Incredible views of the Haro Strait and gorgeous sunsets during our vacation. We spent 3 nights enjoying morning coffee on the deck nestled in the trees with amazing views of the Strait and evenings watching the beautiful sunset. The property is exceptionally clean and incredibly well stocked with supplies, kitchen utensils, appliances and spices. It is unbelievably quiet even with the enjoyable sounds of the birds and waves lapping the shoreline. We saw otters, deer, eagles, and a few whale spouts. Most surprisingly was the amount of lovely, entertaining birds in the trees who made daily visits to the bird feeders. The property is well maintained, comfortable and cozy. There were only 2 of us but it comfortably hosts up to at least 6 people so lots of space. Roche Harbor, Milligan Mausoleum, English Camp, Lime Kiln Park are close by and worth leaving the gorgeous views of the property. Fabulous waterfront property with amazing views!

Special stay on San Juan

This is a great property with incredible views and easy access to sights all around the island. We would highly recommend it and very much enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location

The house gave you easy access to all the parks and marinas. Sitting on the deck was peaceful and rejuvenating. Seeing the Orcas one evening was a plus as well. Highly recommend.

Fantastic House would absolutely stay again! Fabulous location to everything on the island! Full kitchen was great, living space comfy, views amazing, beds cozy. Bathrooms clean-plenty of linens. Many serving dishes for in house meals. birds and deer a plenty.limited opening windows. limited clothing space in drawers in two bedrooms & no closet in 3rd bedroom and second bedroom closet filled with homeowner belongings. Master bedroom was fantastic..
