Mountain Oasis for 2 in Tahoe Donner

You will no doubt love staying in our newly remodeled apartment. We are located approximately 1/4 mile to the Tahoe Donner downhill ski area & the Alder Creek Adventure Center which is a world-class cross-country ski area. Play golf at our Tahoe Donner golf course (seasonal) . Tennis, pickleball mountain biking, bocce, private beach club at Donner Lake, Trout Creek Recreation center offers pools, Jacuzzis, steam and dry sauna, exercise classes and a huge gym. Two restaurants, The Lodge and Pizza on the hill. Some amenities are subject to a daily fee by guests. Visit tahoedonner.com for amenity information. Your apartment looks out on a beautiful meadow that is bordered by Alder Creek and the emigrant trail. The kitchenette area has a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, sink, electric skillet, Hot pot. Coffee & Tea are provided as well as sugar and cream, basic seasonings, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Dishes, glasses, mugs, bowls are provided. There is a gas barbeque on the deck. We live full time in the upstairs unit. The upstairs main living area, occupied by us, is locked off from access by guests. The apartment is for a maximum of two guests. If you need a second bed, we have a queen air mattress with all the bedding you will need. Please respect our request for the maximum of two guests. This is a requirement of our occupancy certificate from the town of Truckee. STR Reg# 026984 STR Reg# 026984 As of July 1 the occupancy tax will increase to 14%. Adjustments will be made after July 1 for reservations made before that date.

The apartment location was fantastic- two blocks from skiing. Clean, nicely appointed, beautiful view and comfortable bed. The hosts were warm and friendly, left us welcome pack with delicious muffins. Kitchenette had an electric skillet that made light cooking easy.

We had a wonderful stay at Laura & Kevin's place. A very pleasant view of the snow falling out the patio window. Laura keeps things clean. It was great not to have any smells (no smoke or animal smells). Fortunately, L&K live on the top floor of the house, so they were very responsive to our requests (and taking care of the abundance of snow that fell on the driveway while we were there). They provided brushes, scrapers, shovels, to help us with our car. The apartment worked well for us. We could have used a larger refrigerator, but our ice chests (and rotating the ice-packs with the small freezer compartment) were adequate. (In retrospect, maybe we should have used the garage for the ice chests!) They were friendly, accommodating, and great hosts!

Good location, easy check-in and check-out

Stayed with my wife and really just needed a place to sleep as we had family renting a larger home close by. This place did the trick and was a nice option to getting a hotel further away. Would recommend as the entire process was pretty easy.

Fantastic stay!!!

Five stars easily for this place! Great little getaway for two people - spacious, clean, perfect location for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing - it was everything we needed and more! Communication was great with the hosts and they even helped us with a few suggestions. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to friends and hope to come back ourselves.

Lovely home and great location to Tahoe Donner, Donner Lake, Truckee and Lake Tahoe!

Very comfortable, clean and quiet place to stay! Awesome trails nearby, beautiful view from the patio and was able to explore Tahoe and swim in Donner Lake. Laura was a great host and the muffins and fruit she provided to help welcome us was very thoughtful and appreciated! Hope to come back to this gem!!

Perfect, Cozy & Private getaway for 2

The cozy one bedroom, bathroom and living room area was perfect for the two of us. The tranquil view from the unit onto Alder Creek and forest was just perfect. It is obvious that our hosts take care in providing clean, safe and lovely accommodations.

Home away from home!

We really enjoyed our long weekend here. It was cozy, homey, clean, and stocked with everything we needed. It's a 5-minute drive to Tahoe Donner Cross-Country, which was perfect for us. Plus, it's close to downtown Truckee with lots of good places to eat. Laura was lovely and responsive. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect weekend getaway

If you're debating staying here, just do it! We stayed here over Labor day weekend and it was the perfect getaway. Wonderful hospitality (from chocolates to advice on nearby running trails), great space for relaxing, and the perfect location for hiking, mountain biking, and a short drive to Donner Lake. Beautiful view out back with a gas fire pit too! 10/10 would recommend and we already look forward to coming back.

Excellent apartment

Very clean and cozy apartment in walking distance from the Nordic trails. You do not find any better location than that in Donner! Very fast communication with Laura. Definitely recommend this apartment for your stay in Donner.

Beautiful high country retreat

The living arrangements were excellent and provided the exact experience we were looking for. We were surrounded by beautiful tall pine trees. Convenient location for access to the golf course, Truckee, Donner Lake and Lake Tahoe. Keith and Laura were great hosts and easily accessible. Highly recommend.

Very Clean/attentive host/nice accommodations.

Once you've accepted the lack of kitchen sink and need to use washroom sink, the experience was very positive. Plenty of hot water. Bed comfy. Laura was very attentive to our needs. The muffins, chocolate, bananas and coffee were a very nice touch. Location was great for us, skiing at Sugar Bowl. Accessibility to Truckee and our family was great.

Amazing getaway! Highly Recommend!

space was so nice! loved the outdoor patio and pretty view. We bought food to grill and used the amenities provided and ate some amazing meals! We brought a cooler which was good to store extra refrigerator items in. Bed was comfortable and instructions were clear/helpful. Overall we rate this 5 stars and will definitely return! Thank you so much for the hospitality!!

Clean, comfortable and very welcoming.

The studio has its own entrance and the owners live above . If you need to ask any questions Laura replies immediately. There was everything you needed and the bed was really comfortable. The small patio area has a BBQ and you are surrounded by lots of trees. You are not far from the town of Truckee which has lots of shops and great restaurants. Lots of information in the studio re.places to visit which we found very useful. We had a lovely vacation and it was great to go back every evening to a nice cozy place.

Perfectly appointed

The cozy apartment was everything we needed and super convenient. No lugging gear through a hotel to store in a small hotel room. You can store your ski gear in the garage of the apartment which is accessed from the ground level driveway - easy! The place is quiet, the bed is comfortable, the water pressure is strong and the WiFi worked well. Also, you can walk to Tahoe Donner Cross Country. Laura was very responsive and helpful. Thank you for the lovely accommodation!

Wonder location and great hosts

This lodging is a great spot for a single or couple. The location was ideal for us. Out of the hustle and traffic of Truckee, but with in easy drive of downtown Truckee and Donner Lake. Literally yards from the Alder Creek Trail that connects to endless miles of trails for hiking, biking or running in the cross country area and beyond in to Euer Valley. I think the road riding (bike) right the door is the best and safest in the Donner-Tahoe area. Bedroom and super comfortable. Living room,TV and internet Wifi connection all good. Kitchen is minimal with small fridge, micro, no sink (clean dishes in bathroom) and table for 2. Plan simple meals and eating out. Bathroom is fine. Laura and Kevin were super hosts. Answered all question took care of requests very quickly. Also really liked the deck and guest membership to Trout Creek Recreation Center and Tahoe Donner pool.

Fabulous stay in ideal location

I spent a week in December 2019 in Laura and Kevin’s lovely apartment. It was fantastic all the way around. They are the kindest hosts, and make sure they take excellent care of their guests - from early communication once I made the reservation, to answering questions I had before my trip, to giving me the lay of the land once I arrived. Incredibly friendly, helpful and quick to respond. The unit is plenty spacious, comfortable, quiet and cozy. Absolutely perfect for me (solo) or for a couple. I was so impressed how they have thought of everything in equipping their kitchenette (like, it is better than most hotels). I did not need more than that as I tend to eat out and only bring back snacks and such to keep with me in the space. I loved the private entrance through the garage; made it easy for me to store my ski and snowshoe gear. The location of the home in the Tahoe Donner area of Truckee was perfect for me as it was close (less then 2 minute drive) to the Alder Creek Adventure Center where I could cross-country ski and snowshoe. And, because of staying in the home of a Tahoe Donner resident, Laura and Kevin provide a guest pass to enjoy discounted rates on the amenities that are exclusive to Tahoe Donner area. You are also a short drive a way from any place in the greater Truckee area. Loved my stay and am already figuring out when I can come back in the summer to take advantage of the little back deck/patio (among other things)! I highly recommend staying here. Thank you Laura and Kevin - I will be back!

Really great stay. Plenty of space for the 2 of us. Muffins, fruit and chocolates provided which were nice touches. The unit is stylish and comfortable, decorated in sort of a modern antique style. There’s a short walking trail behind the house, frequented by deer. Easy drive to all north Tahoe and Truckee activities. Large garage space available for you to store your gear if needed, such as bikes or ski gear. Would definitely recommend staying here

Skiing and Boating are our favorite things to do and this area is just that! We hope you will consider staying in our apartment and look forward to meeting you!

Our apartment is perfect for two people looking for a getaway. We give you as much privacy as you need. We do live full time in the upstairs portion of the home. We are very quiet, but you may hear light footsteps when we are home. There is a deck off the apartment with a beautiful view of the meadow. Sit and enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. You may see deer while sitting out here which is always an amazing sight! You will have a private entrance through the garage which is not a grand entrance but as soon as you enter the apartment you will love the space. Parking is on the driveway which is flat and easily accessible. If you are visiting during the winter you will need chains or a 4wheel drive. Our roads around the house are plowed early.

Tahoe Donner is one of the largest homeowners' associations in the United States with over 6000 owners. Ski Our own Tahoe Donner Ski area 1 mile away, Alder Creek Adventure Center and World-class cross-country two blocks away, Northstar, Palisades Tahoe, Alpine Meadows, Sugar Bowl and Boreal which are all close by. Beautiful Donner Lake is 10 minutes away. Lake Tahoe is 25 minutes and a beautiful drive.
