Kgari's totally private treetop setting has extraordinary 180 degree views from Orchid Beach to Sandy Cape. This house was one of the first built in the area and remains the gem of Orchid Beach. Kgari is carefully designed and tastefully furnished for comfortable open plan holiday living. The exceptionally well appointed kitchen is always well received by those who enjoy cooking. Kgari is Ideal for families or two couples.
Note this property can only be accessed by high clearance 4WD. Note linen is not provided. We can put you in touch with local provider.

Spectacular!

We stayed for just under a week at Simon and Tilly's property and we fell in love with it!! Its just WOW.Simon was a fantastic property manager, answered all questions and was super prompt and helpful! I totally missed the PDF's that came with the booking that explained EVERYTHING! Super descriptive, he was more than happy to answer all my questions.Property is located behind the main street on Orchid Beach. Comfy parking for 2 vehicles. All amenities are in great condition. Accommodation was extremely comfortable. Views are out of this world! Waking up to kookaburras calling, sitting on the deck watching honey eaters playing. You are literally right up in the trees! Super secluded and private. Would reccomend time and time again! Our new favorite spot and we've been going to K'gari for 12 years now.Thank you Simon and Tilly for a fantastic stay! 5 Stars without a doubt.

Orchid Beach

A beautiful property in a fabulous location! The view for the deck is incredible and the house has many louvered windows, allowing the ocean breeze and sounds to filter through the house. The house is very well equipped with everything you need to settle right in as soon as you have the car unpacked. The bird life was always present and very close by and the kids loved the star gazing each evening. Information shared regarding the property was very thorough and easy to follow, leaving no doubts in our minds as we prepared for the holiday. I highly recommend this property and location for a quiet adventure away from the crowds!

Excellent!

The location of the property is perfect, with a beautiful view. It was clean and tidy and we loved that there was no tv. We had a few days of rain but still got out and saw what the island has to offer. Check in process and communication from the owner was excellent. Only down side was the lighting in the kitchen, it’s a bit dull but that’s not a complaint!

Great place

Very good place. Would say it needs some TLC like the deck needs oiling and doors were off the rollers when we arrived. The pots and pans needed a bit of a clean and the audio requires a hard connection which is a male 3.5mm plug. No television which is a pain when it's raining and you are not a fan of board games. (Just hate board games) Driveway is steep and could be daunting for first time you drive in. Doors need proper latches rather than a hook. They are OK if you are with your family. Quick drive to the beach, shop, bar, dump. Would recommend a stay here.

We stayed at K’gari and it was perfect for what we needed during our stay in Orchid Beach. The view was absolutely amazing from the deck and was the perfect place to come back to to sit, relax and enjoy everything the place has to offer. Would definitely recommend to friends and family

We loved our stay at kgari on fraser island. The house is perfect. We didn't want to leave. Fraser is an island we absolutely love and our stay at kgari made it even more amazing.

Superb K'gari!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at K'gari. It was in a terrific location and was most comfortable. The deck with that FABULOUS view was our most favourite part, was lovely to relax every afternoon with a glass of wine and soak up the serenity!!!

Beautiful place!

We stayed there for 5 nights, I couldn't have asked for a better place! In the middle of winter, the house was warm and cozy and with all we needed. As a chef I must say they have a very well equipped kitchen! If you feel like a nice dinner, bring your goods and enjoy the meal. Simon took care of everything, I do definitely recommend the stay.

Great location, wonderful views and very comfortable accommodation. It was a pleasure to wake up in the morning to the views afforded from Kgari. We certainly saw our fair share of whales from the house and when fishing along the eastern beach of Fraser Island. I cant wait to come back and have yet another bottle of wine while listening to music on Kgaris balcony in the dwindling daylight hours.

Kgari is a truly beautiful place to stay. It is exactly like the photos on the website and a whole lot more, we had 4 adults within the property and we had loads of space and we were all extremely comfortable. The views from the deck are spectacular. I would love to come back here in whale season!!Being at the north end of the island Kgari takes a little more planing than the other island locations. Checking the tide times/driving times to get up to the north end is a must. However this little extra effort is well worth it. Waddy point at sunrise/sunset is beautiful and having champagne pools to yourselves when the back packers have gone back down to the south of the island are just 2 of the many treats!!FYI the track from Kingfisher across the island is soft with loads of holes at the moment (early feb 2012). Great house. The views are amazing from the deck. Easy access to the beach with safe swimming and fishing spots and also plenty of close encounters with various wildlife. We have stayed at different places around Fraser Island before but Orchid Beach is definitely the most beautiful. We can't wait to go back and will be staying at K'gari again.Thankyou.

Kgari is an achievement. It is a self-sufficient success with own water, solar electricity with minimal impact to the environment, set in one of the most beautiful parts of the island and Australia. We experienced Fraser Island in rustic luxury. When you've moved beyond camping and like the mod cons but dislike resort offerings, then this is it. You take some responsibility in preserving water and keeping the place clean which is essential for a remote location like this. Great views, good facilities in the house, great fishing and drives and full of adventure. The island is still a pretty wild place and we were very happy to be behind the insect gauze on all doors. Beware the sand fly / flea on the beaches.. unseen but at the wrong time of year can cause a week or two of ichiness! Take a portable bbq for those meals on the beach, you won't be sorry. We were on one incredible beach for the whole day and no-one else disturbed us... wow. Would we recommend Kgari, yes. Would we stay in Kgari again, yes absolutely...
