Open continuously since 1998, IslaMar Villas is one of the few remaining owner/operated vacation rental facilities on the island. Sure there are alot of hotels to choose from but how many of those hotel owners or managers will know your name or remember you next time you visit? We're still very old school that way!

Owner/operator Sherri Davis would like to thank all of her clients for giving her the opportunity to celebrate 22 years of operation! Newly remodeled in 2017, IslaMar Villas now has more garden space, refurbished pool/spa, sidewalk and porch resurfacing in the commons area, all new flooring, granite kitchen counters and a completely redesigned bathroom with all new fixtures. We're always updating and improving the villas and for 2019 we added flat screen TV's and redecoration in all units!

Offering quality and value, an IslaMar Vacation Villa provides the perfect get-away for you, your family and friends to enjoy tropical island living at its best! Sherri and her staff are always nearby to personally assist guests with their vacation needs.

Your IslaMar Villa will be situated around a common garden, pool, waterfall & jacuzzi area. The entire complex is surrounded by a ten foot privacy/security wall with electrification and 24/7 camera monitoring of property entrances. IslaMar is located in a regular neighborhood (out of the tourist zone), just a 10 -15 minute walk from Downtown or beach areas. Just around the corner is a neighborhood grocery as well as a family play park.

RESERVATION CONFIRMATION & CANCELLATION POLICY

Rental Reservations are confirmed by receipt of a 50% deposit of total rental amount due plus any Security Deposit required. Deposits must be received within 5-7 days of requesting a booking or the rental space is released. The remaining 50% rental balance owed is due 60 days PRIOR TO arrival date. Cancellations are effective on the date written notice is received by fax or e-mail in our office.

The following assessments will apply on cancellations: Cancellations prior to 90 days from arrival date will result in a refund of Rental and Security deposits made LESS a $175 processing fee. Cancellations prior to 60 days from arrival date will result in forfeiture of the Security as well as the Rental Deposit which is 50% of total rental amount. Cancellations made less than 60 days prior to Arrival result in forfeiture of Security Deposit plus 100% of total rental amount.

Visiting Cozumel for Ironman.

Great spot just outside of the tourist area. The staff was wonderful and helped with everything from getting a car rental & taxi to suggesting places to eat.

Great spot for a great price

This is a wonderful little find for the price. All the basics are met. The unit we stayed in was as advertised and matched the photos. The courtyard and pool was beautiful and we really enjoyed it. The property manager is beyond helpful. I’m sure we will be back!

great place

i find my thought drifting back to my visit to Cozumel and my stay at Isla Mar. it is a wonderful place. Sherri and the staff will take care of all your needs.Zuri is a delight. the place was clean and tidy. we booked the studio apt and enjoyed it. Sherri invited us to move into a 1BR. She is the major reason Isla mar is a great place. she's packed with info and shares it freely. be sure to visit Pescaderia San Carlos (around the corner)where Diego will prepare the greatest fish you've eaten. there is plenty of street parking if you choose to rent a car or scooter.I can not be happier about choosing Isla Mar for our 2 week visit. im planing my return.already. thank you Sherri,Mauricio,and Zuri for making our stay great, smooth and a pure delight. Ps. im now in NYC with sub zero temps, and the flu. oh how i miss Cozumel and Isla Mar.

Hosts are great (Andrea Was terrific - available all times and provided great recommendations). The place is well kept, very safe and comfortable. All basic kitchen equipment and utensils. The walk to town is moderate. We rented bikes, though you need to be very careful sharing the roads with cars and motorbikes. one drawback is the prevalence of barking dogs in the neighborhood. Fortunately the bedroom has AC/fan that masks the sound.

Secluded spot of paradise

I stayed on Cozumel for 3 weeks (this being my 5th trip) and I can say this spot is my favorite by far. It's an amazing cozy little villa and I enjoyed coming home at night as much as going out! Everyone is super friendly, things were clean to my mom's standards (which is almost impossible) and I always felt safe! I will definitely be going back!

A great place to stay in a safe and authentic neighbourhood

We visited Cozumel in March 2016 and stayed at the Islamar vacation rental location for a week. This location is a great place to stay. Cozumel is dominated by the Cruise Ship industry and Islamar is far enough removed from the crowded areas to give guests an authentic experience of the community apart from the tourist crush. At the same time, if you want to partake of the touristy stuff, it's a 20 to 30 minute walk to the oceanfront and the downtown core. And if you don't feel like walking, there's always taxis coming and going and it only costs a couple dollars to get there. The apartments are spacious and clean, and the grounds provide a nice quiet spot to enjoy the sun and pool. The neighbourhood has everything you could possibly need, grocery stores, a bakery, restaurants and bars that are popular with the people who live here. A great perk for guests who stay at Islamar is access to the PalMar beach club. Beaches aren't a big draw in Cozumel, but the snorkelling and diving are great, even snorkelling from shore. So while there are a number of access locations to the water, there are very few places that offer a sandy spot to sit with beach chairs and umbrellas. And the few that do exist are pretty crowded. That's where the PalMar beach club really shines. It's located about 6 or 7 km from the apartment, a nice and easy bike ride away and there's all the amenities you could want. Beverages and snacks across the road from the sandy beach front where tables, chairs and loungers are available, and then you can have a leisurely swim and snorkel right there. We've been snorkelling in several locations in the Caribbean, but nothing even comes close to this. I doubt you'd have a better experience on a boat excursion out to deeper waters. Sherri is a wonderful hostess, and her staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They were available to answer questions and help, yet we felt completely free and comfortable and never felt crowded or surveilled. They even helped arrange bike and car rentals for us. There were several services provided that exceeded anything we experienced at other rentals, namely cleaning every second day, our sheets were changed 3 times over the course of the week and there was always an abundance of towels available. A small suggestion that might be a great addition to the comforts would be to have a small supply of kitchen linens (a couple dish clothes and towels), some dishwashing liquid and a bit of plastic wrap.

Stunning!!!!!

WE had the utmost pleasure of meeting Sherri last summer. A day to to Cozumel only we could not stop thinking of the island. We came back the following Jan and everything we imagined and hope for was true. Living with the locals, shopping, cooking exploring. It was all so wonderful. I want to come back and back. Sherri, her staff, everyone were amazing but still allowed you to have privacy. Learned a lot on this vacation and I can say were planning our holiday for July and were coming back, The rooms stylish, functional, clean. Just what we wanted, Again thank you for your hospitality and your friendship. We will see you in July!!!! Our kindness regards and pleasure Greg and Lori

enjoyed this mid-town location

My son and I stayed for 1 week here and really enjoyed it. I loved being in mid-town away from the tourist areas. I used my spanish skills a lot, but I expect you could get by without if need be. Nidia and Andrea took great care of us. It is fairly modest lodging, but by American standards. The pool is quite nice, and the bed was really very comfortable. You don't always see that in Mexico! Taxis were easy to get either by phone or nearest major road. Although we went to Mega a lot, we could have grocery shopped nearby. I had several fancy maps but mostly used the one Nidia gave me with various places marked on it. Taxis were cheap to el centro. It was a more expensive cab ride to and from the beaches, but a little planning helps keep costs down. Or we could have rented a car. Staying here was HALF the cost of staying at a condo on the beach! And we can go to a club or hotel for the day to get our beach fix. This will let us take longer vacations! We are already planning our return.

Michiganders!

Very clean, safe, quiet villas located in the Mexican neighborhoods of SanMiguell. A true cultural experience! Fantastic food prepared by the locals. We caught fish and the restaurant down the street cooked them for us! The Best! Need a rental car or taxi though to go to the beaches:(. Great weather ... 81* the 3 weeks we were there!

Fantastic Trip to Cozumel

We rented a one bedroom for 2 weeks. It was our first time in Mexico and Sherri and her staff were great to work with. The property is ideally located in the middle of town. We often walked to eat and shop and had rented a car which took us to many great dive sites. We really enjoyed when all the others staying there would often get together for a drink and to talk about our days adventures. All the people there gave great advice and we met many great people that we had a lot in common with. Most were long term residents. We would recommend this to couples going to Cozumel.

Such an excellent stay in a great location

This was the perfect choice for us. The safe bright one bedroom apartments and the lovely grounds and pool are kept immaculately by the super staff. The owner Sherri is full of information and tips about the island. You can't ask for a nicer, more helpful host. This is a super location for walking, eating at all kinds of yummy local places while still having the option of visiting the many places to buy food and cook in. I can't recommend this listing enough for those who want to experience Cozumel. M&J

Visiting in Cozumel, local style.

Found IslaMar on VRBO while looking for a place to stay for 3 weeks. Was very pleased to find the property was just as advertised. The staff was waiting for me on my arrival at the front door. The pool area is incredible and I enjoyed it very much during my time there. Hummingbirds frequently seen, and there is a local bakery close by, so the smell of fretted baked bread was often tempting me while at the pool. Sherri gave me the one bedroom condo upstairs and it again, was just as advertised. I found everything I needed and including the small touches such as the hammock. The apartment was immaculate! If there was anything missing, Zuri was there to help. This is living "local style" which is what I was looking for, away from the tourist areas. I spent time walking about the area and did not have any problems whatsoever. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the main tourist area. Taxis, if needed, are plentiful, affordable, and reliable. There are small, local places to eat close to IslaMar where the food is very good, and affordable. Sherri has a helpful guide book detailing all the good restaurants broken down by location and price. I was very pleased with the choice of Cozumel and IslaMar. Sherri, I will be back !

Perfect for Us

For Bonnie and I it was the place , we have been coming to Cozumel since 1989 off and on. Lots of changes over the years but Sheri's place works perfect , walk to town or hang out at the villa you can't go wrong. Everyone is first class and always greets you with a big smoke thanks for having us. See you in the fall or early in the new year if all goes well at our end. Cheers P & B

a small slice of heaven

Our stay at Isla Mar was great. Sherri and staff were at our disposal. We rented a car and had no issues with parking. the room was great. Staying at Isla Mar gave us an opportunity to interact with the locals, eat and shop at local establishments which is something we would not have done if we stayed at a resort. make sure to visit Pescador Carlos (around the corner) for some of the greatest, freshest fish you've ever had. Cozumel is lovely but staying at Isla Mar was a slice of heaven. I cant wait to visit again. thank you Sherri and Mauricio for a lovely home away from home.

Awesome 2 weeks

Thank you Sherrie and staff for making our two week stay unforgettable. Your villa was exactly what we were looking for, away from the touristy stuff, yet within walking distance to all the restaurants, shops and piers. We enjoyed shopping in local markets, and discovering the Island on foot, and our rented scooter. Thank you for all your help before and during our stay with loads of information and recommendations for site seeing and restaurants. Having been only to All inclusive in Mexico, this was treat, no line ups for food, no saving loungers, etc,not to mention time share hassles...Thank you all again.

Wonderful Vacation Villas

A beautiful little set of vacation suites, friendly and helpful staff, and a welcoming pool make this accommodation worth the walk from the "tourist" zone, (in fact, it's very nice to get away from all that). Very clean, with all the amenities one would want. Close to lots of authentic and inexpensive restaurants. I would happily recommend IslaMar to other travellers.

Vacances mémorables

Nous avons passé un séjour de 2 semaines vraiment formidable à Islamar Villas, nous avions l'appartement no 6. Nous étions les seuls vacanciers sur le site et nous avons reçu un excellent service de tout le personnel en place. Nous avions reçu de Sherri toute l'information nécessaire avant notre arrivée et par la suite, sur place, elles nous a donné une foule d'info supplémentaire (par exemple pour la plongée.....) Je recommande cet endroit très bien situé pour un séjour différent et enrichissant. C'était notre première expérience à Cozumel, hors d'un hôtel et nous allons certainement répéter cette formule et probablement encore à Islamar Villas.

Absolutely Amazing Getaway!

I cannot recommend IslaMar and Sherri highly enough. These villas are amazing! What a great value. I have not stayed in such a nice island "home" for such a fantastic price. (Been to St. John, St. Thomas, Culebra, San Juan...) Wow. Wow. Wow. The villa was safe, cute, spacious - the amenities were perfect. Loved Sherri's staff! I couldn't have asked for a more welcoming owner or a more perfect spot to get away with my husband for a week. Love Cozumel and love IslaMar! Rent a car. Live like a local. Have a superb time! Don't stay anywhere else!

Great place to rent!

My wife and I spent 8 nights at Isla Mar and really enjoyed the personal touch. Very clean, very secure, in walking distance to many places to eat in the colonia or to the ferry area to just watch tourists in for the day. It is quiet, except for a few pigeons nesting, about but the rooms and grounds are just wonderful. Sherie greeted us, even though we had a plane delay of 2 hours. The rooms are spacious with everything a person could want. It is probably the best value on the island!

I spent my early years in Cozumel working as a business consultant and PADI Dive Instructor.

I enjoy scuba diving, traveling the interior of Mexico, creative writing, discovering nature and supporting local conservation efforts such as the Cozumel Marine Turtle Salvation Program, reef monitoring and beach clean up events here on the island.

On my first visit to Cozumel years ago, I simply could not believe that a person could leave DFW, fly for a bit over 2 hours and end up in a place as remote and primative as Cozumel was back then. There is something about the island that simply draws visitors into its charm.

As a scuba diver, I found heaven on earth in the beauty of the reefs that surround Cozumel and I simply never wanted to leave! Having my 9 IslaMar Vacation Villas gives me the chance to share the Cozumel I know with others who enjoy island living type vacations!

One of the main reasons folks come back to my IslaMar Villas & Ocean View Condos year after year is because it is one of the few remaining owner operated vacation rental facilities in Cozumel. Many Cozumel vacation rentals are handled nowadays by property management companies (no owner on site).

My staff and I are on site daily and try to ensure that guests have the best possible vacation experience while here on the island. We assist guests with everything from coordinating car rentals and excursions to sharing information about less expensive 'locals' places to hang out. Our goal at IslaMar is to make a 'regular' out of you!

Another thing that sets IslaMar apart from many other properties in Cozumel, is that we are actually operating a legitimate business within the community complete with all applicable business licenses, safety inspections and legitimate legal structure to provide property rentals in Cozumel. As members of the Cozumel island community, we at IslaMar feel an obligation to comply with local regulations and help support road and infrastructure development rather than ignore or evade these regulations and fees as so many vacation rentals do on the island. As they say 'It takes a village.' and we must all CONTRIBUTE (by paying licenses/fees,etc.) to improve our community.
